Atlanta optioned Hernandez to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Hernandez has managed a 2.72 ERA in 36.1 innings this season, but a 33:30 K:BB doesn't paint a pretty picture. He'll report to Gwinnett as Atlanta adds a fresh bullpen arm in his place.

Miley (forearm) visited Dr. Timothy Kremchek on Monday and is still trying to determine his next move, MLB.com reports.

Miley was pulled from a rehab assignment after experiencing soreness during a start last Friday. That the left-hander is pondering his next move suggests the doctor offered multiple go-forward scenarios and that the soreness may not be normal. Reds manager Terry Francona said the team will "support whatever he does." This implies that Miley will not be a fantasy factor over the final weeks of the regular season.

Marte went 1-for-5 with a double in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Guardians.

Rather than as a result of his performance, Marte drew more attention Monday when he spoke to the media prior to the contest and addressed a recent article in The Arizona Republic that suggested teammates and others in the organization have been irked about the second baseman's propensity to take days off. Per Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, Marte said through an interpreter that his absences from the lineup have been largely "integrated with the coaching staff and myself, in order to keep me on the field the longest." Marte has received some occasional days off since returning to action in early May after a stint on the injured list due to a hamstring strain, and he also missed the Diamondbacks' first three games of the second half after his home was burglarized during the All-Star Game. Any controversy pertaining to Marte's tendency to take days off hasn't affected his performance; he's slashing .309/.396/.515 with four home runs, eight doubles, one steal, 16 RBI and 17 runs scored over 25 games in the second half.

Smith started at first base and went 0-for-2 before being lifted for a pinch hitter in Monday's 3-1 loss to Cleveland.

Smith was activated off the injured list Monday and was in the lineup against a right-hander. He was eventually pinch hit for against a lefty reliever by the right-handed batting Tyler Locklear, who had served as the primary first baseman since the Diamondbacks traded Josh Naylor. The two could operate as a platoon at the cold corner while Arizona is nominally a competitor for the postseason. At some point, the organization may want to see if the 24-year-old Locklear is a long-term solution.

Moreno (finger) will catch back-to-back games for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday and Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

The two-game set will serve as a final test before Moreno is activated. He's alternated between catcher and DH over his first four rehab appearances but hasn't caught a full nine-inning game. Presumably, in addition to catching back-to-back, the Diamondbacks want to see him on the field for full games in both.

Gorman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-3 victory over the Marlins.

Gorman waited until the ninth inning to notch his first hit, but he made it count with a two-run blast off Josh Simpson that put the game out of reach. Filling in regularly at third base with Nolan Arenado (shoulder) sidelined, Gorman has held his own in August, slashing .250/.365/.477 with a double, three homers and nine RBI across 14 games.

Perez did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and four walks over 4.1 innings against St. Louis. He struck out six.

Perez worked through four scoreless innings before stumbling in the fifth inning, where shaky defense and spotty command kept him from finishing the frame. Overall, the hard-throwing righty has been solid in his return from Tommy John surgery, logging 64.2 innings across 13 starts with a 3.48 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 2025.

Liberatore did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over five-plus innings against the Marlins. He struck out five.

Liberatore worked into the sixth inning Monday but was knocked out before recording an out in the frame, leaving him with a no-decision. While he fell short of a full six innings, it was the first time the southpaw had completed five frames since July 5. The 25-year-old has struggled to maintain form as the season has worn on, pitching to a 5.31 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with a 5.8 K/9 and 3.1 BB/9 across his last 12 starts (57.2 innings).

Lux went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Angels.

Lux had gone 37 games without a homer, picking up just six doubles in that span. He also batted .304 during the power drought. The 27-year-old is up to five homers, 47 RBI, 39 runs scored and a stolen base while slashing .281/.359/.386 over 395 plate appearances. He continues to see steady playing time in a strong-side platoon role, mainly between second base and left field.

Barlow walked one and struck out four over 1.1 scoreless and hitless innings to earn the save in Monday's 4-1 win over the Angels.

The Reds were a bit thin in the bullpen Monday, as all of Emilio Pagan, Tony Santillan and Graham Ashcraft had pitched Saturday and Sunday. Barlow stepped up for the four-out save, throwing 14 of 25 pitches for strikes. While this was his first save of 2025, Barlow had earned 58 saves from 2019-2024. He's added 13 holds and a blown save while pitching to a 3.54 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 61:34 K:BB across 56 innings. He's not the top option for ancillary saves, but Barlow remains part of the Reds' high-leverage mix.
