  • Rays' Freddy Peralta: Falls to Baltimore

Peralta (5-10) took the loss Sunday against the Orioles, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two. After Peralta held Baltimore scoreless through his first four innings, the Rays turned to the bullpen with two outs and two on in the fifth. Garrett Cleavinger then gave up back-to-back hits, allowing both inherited runners to score and sticking Peralta with his 10th loss of the year. Through three starts with Tampa, Peralta has given up 12 runs across 14.1 innings. Overall, his ERA sits at 5.27 with a 1.48 WHIP and 123:53 K:BB across 25 starts (128 innings) between the Rays and Mets this season. Peralta is currently in line for a rematch with the Orioles on the road his next time out.

  • Rays' Freddy Peralta: Submits quality start Monday

Peralta allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Monday. Peralta was better in this start than in his Rays debut last week, but the offense didn't back him up while he was in the game. It had been two months since Peralta last covered six innings in a start -- he posted a miserable 8.01 ERA over his previous nine starts, six of which were shorter than five frames. On the year, Peralta has a 5.33 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 121:50 K:BB through 123.1 innings over 24 starts between the Rays and the Mets. He's lined up to make his next start at home versus the Orioles.

  • Rays' Freddy Peralta: Struggles in first start for Tampa

Peralta allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday. Peralta's first outing for the Rays didn't go well, though this start came at Coors Field. The right-hander was acquired from the Mets on Sunday. Peralta has allowed at least five runs in four of his last eight outings, so there's a glaring consistency issue he'll need to work through with his new team. He's at a 5.37 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 116:49 K:BB through 117.1 innings over 23 starts this season. Peralta's next outing is expected to be in another hitter-friendly venue in Sacramento against the Athletics.

  • Rays' Freddy Peralta: Team debut coming Tuesday

Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Peralta will start Tuesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports. Acquired from the Mets on Sunday in a four-player deal, Peralta will be called upon to make his Rays debut two days later, stepping into the rotation spot that previously belonged to the injured Shane McClanahan (back). Though Peralta had labored to a 4.99 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 113:48 K:BB in 113.2 innings with New York, the Rays are optimistic that their coaching staff can coax better results from the two-time All-Star. A strong finish to the campaign could set up the 30-year-old righty for a lucrative payday this offseason, when he'll hit free agency for the first time in his career.

  • Rays' Freddy Peralta: Heading to Tampa Bay

The Rays acquired Peralta from the Mets on Sunday in exchange for outfielder Aidan Smith, second baseman Emilien Pitre and right-hander Gary Gill Hill, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. Peralta was pulled from his scheduled start Friday versus Miami in anticipation of Monday's trade deadline, and the Mets found a willing suitor for his services in the Rays, who pivoted to the right-hander after falling short in their pursuit of Tarik Skubal. After being acquired from the Brewers during the offseason, Peralta had a rough time in Queens with a 4.99 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 113:48 K:BB in 113.2 innings over 22 starts. Tampa Bay represents a good landing spot for the 30-year-old, given the Rays' track record of getting the best out of their pitchers.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Scratched from Friday's start

The Mets have scratched Peralta from Friday's scheduled start versus the Marlins as trade interest in the hurler heats up, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. A trade does not appear imminent, but Peralta is a virtual lock to be dealt before Monday's deadline and the Mets don't want to risk him getting injured. The club has not yet revealed who will start Friday in Peralta's place. The Cubs, Rays, Phillies, Brewers and Atlanta are among the teams known to have trade interest in Peralta, who is a pending free agent.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Struggles again Monday

Peralta (5-9) took the loss against Milwaukee on Monday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings. Peralta fell behind quickly, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk in the first inning. He gave up three more runs across his next two frames and then watched from the dugout as two additional runs were charged to him following his departure in the sixth. The veteran righty did manage to complete five innings for the first time in his past four starts, but that's small consolation given that the seven earned runs were the second-most he's given up in an outing this season. It's been a rough first campaign in New York for Peralta, as his 5.01 ERA is fourth-worst among qualified big-league hurlers.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Lasts 4.2 frames in no-decision

Peralta did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings in a 7-6 extra-inning win against Atlanta. He struck out six. The right-hander allowed two unearned runs in the second inning before surrendering a solo shot to Matt Olson in the third frame. After throwing 103 pitches (61 strikes), Peralta was lifted following 4.2 innings, marking the first time he failed to complete five innings in consecutive starts this year after logging four frames in his previous outing. It has been a disappointing first season with the Mets for the 30-year-old, who owns a 5-7 record with a 4.68 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 98:39 K:BB across 100 innings (19 starts). Peralta's final start before the All-Star break is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Red Sox.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Hammered for 10 runs in loss

Peralta (5-6) took the loss against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits and one walk with two strikeouts over 2.2 innings. Peralta was down 3-0 when he began a nightmare third frame in which he was charged with seven more runs. The 30-year-old yielded a career-high 10 earned runs overall in his shortest outing of the campaign, with his ERA rising from 3.90 to 4.83 for the season. He's now been charged with four earned runs or more in four of his past six starts. Peralta will take that inflated ERA, a 1.39 WHIP and 83:34 K:BB across 85.2 innings into a home matchup against the Cubs next week.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Tagged for six runs Tuesday

Peralta (4-5) took the loss Tuesday against St. Louis, surrendering six runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings. A disastrous third inning did Peralta in as five batters reached base, leading to a four-run frame that put St. Louis firmly in control. The right-hander compounded the damage in the fifth when Alec Burleson launched a two-run homer to extend the lead. The six runs allowed were a season high, but Peralta continued his streak of having surpassed 90 pitches in each of his last 13 starts. He now owns a 4.04 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 79:32 K:BB across 78 innings. Peralta is scheduled to make his next start at home against Atlanta.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Sharp in fourth win

Peralta (4-4) earned the win Wednesday over the Mariners, allowing a run on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six. Peralta's day got off to an ominous start, as he surrendered a home run to J.P. Crawford to lead off the bottom of the first inning. However, he'd stop the damage there, blanking Seattle over his final five frames en route to his fourth win this season. It's also Peralta's first quality start in his last four outings -- he had posted a subpar 4.37 ERA across 22.2 innings in his prior four starts. Overall, Peralta's ERA sits at 3.38 with a 1.31 WHIP and 74:30 K:BB across 72 innings this season. He's currently lined up to face the Cardinals at home his next time out.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Mixed results in fourth loss

Peralta (3-4) took the loss Saturday against the Marlins, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks in seven innings. He struck out nine. The 29-year-old right-hander provided his longest outing of the season so far, fanning a season-high nine as well. However, it was the first time that Peralta gave up more than three runs since his Opening Day start against the Pirates, and he did surrender a season-worst eight knocks. Peralta is set to carry a healthy 3.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 63:27 K:BB across 61.1 innings into a rematch with Miami next week, this time back at Citi Field in Queens.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Earns third win Tuesday

Peralta (3-3) earned the win Tuesday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings. Peralta gave up both of his runs in the second inning, including a solo homer by Dillon Dingler, but quickly settled in afterward and dominated the rest of the outing. The right-hander closed by retiring 12 of the final 13 batters he faced. Peralta continues to provide steady length, now going at least five innings in eight of his nine starts this season. After going six consecutive starts without a win, he's now picked up victories in back-to-back outings. Peralta owns a 3.10 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 50:19 K:BB across 49.1 innings and is scheduled for a difficult matchup against the Yankees his next time out.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Goes five scoreless innings

Peralta (2-3) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out one over five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Wednesday. Peralta's start was pushed back a day due to Tuesday's rainout. He threw 56 of 91 pitches for strikes in this outing, and the Mets built up enough of the lead to overcome the bullpen's struggles. This was Peralta's first win since Opening Day, and it's his first scoreless outing as a Met. He now has a 3.12 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB across 43.1 innings over eight appearances this season. Peralta's next start is projected to come at home versus the Tigers, which could be the first in a two-start week for the right-hander.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Mets-Rockies contest postponed

Peralta will no longer start Tuesday after the Mets' game versus the Rockies was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up Thursday. Peralta now lines up to take the ball Wednesday, while Christian Scott should be bumped back a day to Thursday.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Settles for no-decision Thursday

Peralta didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Nationals, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out six. A throwing error by Peralta himself prevented two of the runs from being earned, much to the benefit of fantasy managers. The 29-year-old right-hander has been a steady presence in the rotation for the reeling Mets, pitching at least five innings in all seven of his starts thus far, but he has walked multiple batters in six straight outings. Peralta has a solid 3.52 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 42:16 K:BB over 38.1 frames, but he should be tested during a tough matchup in Colorado tentatively set for his next outing.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Undone by late struggles

Peralta did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings. Peralta cruised through the first four innings, keeping Arizona off the board, but he ran into trouble in the fifth. Despite opening the frame with consecutive strikeouts, a single and two walks loaded the bases and forced his exit, and all three inherited runners eventually came around to score. The right-hander needed 101 pitches to record just 14 outs, as Arizona consistently extended at-bats with foul balls, and a fielding error behind him added to the pitch count. While the strikeout ability was there, inefficiency and an inability to finish hitters ultimately cut his outing short. Peralta now owns a 4.80 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB across 15 innings this season.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Sharp in no-decision

Peralta (1-0) did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Cardinals, allowing a run on three hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out seven. Peralta pitched well Wednesday, blanking St. Louis through his first five innings before he was ultimately charged for a run in the sixth in an eventual 2-1, extra-innings defeat. Through his first two starts with the Mets, Peralta's given up five runs on nine hits and two walks over 10.1 innings while striking out seven in both outings. He's currently slated for a home matchup with the Diamondbacks his next time out.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: Earns win on Opening Day

Peralta (1-0) picked up the win Thursday against the Pirates, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out six over five innings. The right-hander looked shaky early in his season debut, giving up a two-run homer to the second batter he faced, Brandon Lowe, but quickly regrouped and found his rhythm, striking out the next four hitters and retiring eight consecutive batters. Peralta served up another home run to Lowe in the third, but despite the trouble with the long ball, the 29-year-old righty was able to pick up the win in his Mets debut. Better days are likely ahead, as he's coming off a strong 2025 regular season, during which he led the NL in wins with a 17-6 record and had a 2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 204 strikeouts.

  • Mets' Freddy Peralta: On track for Opening Day

Peralta allowed one run on one hit and one walk over four innings in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros. He struck out six. Facing a Houston lineup headlined by Yordan Alvarez and Carlos Correa, Peralta fired 39 of 56 pitches for strikes as he continues to build up ahead of his first Opening Day assignment for the Mets. The right-hander has a 2.70 ERA and 12:2 K:BB through 10 spring innings.
