  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Contributes to win

Durbin went 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBI in Sunday's 9-4 win over the Guaridans. Durbin, who started just three times in a 10-game stretch from May 17 to May 27, has made an impact in four consecutive starts. He's knocked in runs in all four games while going 6-for-17 (.353) with three doubles, a triple and six RBI during that stretch. He used the recent downtime to work on hitting in the cage, per Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic. Durbin noted from his spray charts that he was cutting off half the field. "I think it's both a little bit of a mechanical adjustment as far as how I'm positioning my body to use the whole field and a little bit of approach, too," he said. His brutal season-opening slump is hard to forget with a small sample size of production, but Durbin may have turned a corner.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Makes third straight start

Durbin went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 9-1 win over Cleveland. Although the final score suggests this was an easy win, Durbin was a key contributor when the game was still close. His sacrifice fly in the fourth inning produced Boston's first run, and a run-scoring double in the eighth gave the team a 3-1 lead before the offense erupted for six runs in the final frame. This was Durbin's third consecutive start after it looked like his playing time was on the wane, and he's responded by hitting safely in all three starts (5-for-12) with three doubles and four RBI.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Contributes in loss

Durbin went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 10-2 loss to Atlanta. Durbin had a run-scoring double and then scored on a bloop single in the fourth inning. It would be an understatement to say the former Brewer has struggled at the plate this season, as he entered the game on a 2-for-26 stretch and left Fenway Park following the game with a .172 batting average. Thursday's start was just Durbin's third in the last nine games, as he's losing playing time at third base to Nick Sogard and Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Tumbling down depth chart

Durbin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals. Durbin will hit the bench for a third straight matchup versus a right-handed pitcher and looks to have at least temporarily ceded primary duties at third base to Nick Sogard, who has covered the position in each of those three contests. After a promising rookie campaign in Milwaukee last year, Durbin has mustered a lowly .169/.248/.246 slash line with Boston in 2026. His .495 OPS places him last among the 174 players in the majors who have logged at least 150 plate appearances on the season.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Back in lineup

Durbin started at third base and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Tuesday's 7-1 win over Kansas City. Durbin, who returned to the lineup following a two-day break, drove in a run with a single in his first plate appearance. He entered the game on a 1-for-18 (.056) stretch and batting just .165 for the season.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Sitting for second straight day

Durbin is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals. Nick Sogard will get the nod at third base for Durbin for the second day in a row, perhaps hinting that the latter is on shaky ground atop the depth chart. After posting a .721 OPS as a rookie with Milwaukee in 2025, Durbin has struggled mightily at the dish during his first season in Boston, slashing just .165/.247/.245 with a 15.5 percent strikeout rate -- up 5.6 percentage points from 2025 -- over 155 plate appearances.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Beginning on bench Sunday

Durbin is not in Boston's starting lineup Sunday versus Atlanta, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports. Durbin will get a breather amidst a rough start to May, as he's batting just .150 through 14 games so far this month. Nick Sogard is starting at third base Sunday for the Red Sox.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Out of lineup Monday

Durbin is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Detroit. It appears to be a routine day off for Durbin, who had started each of the previous 16 contests. The Red Sox will roll out Andruw Monasterio at third base in Monday's series opener.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Big day in Saturday's rout

Durbin went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, three runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 17-1 win over the Orioles. The long ball, a two-run shot in the ninth inning off position playing Weston Wilson, and the steal were each the first of the season for Durbin. The 26-year-old third baseman has had a tough start to his first season with Boston, but he may be getting his feet under him -- Durbin's batting just .237 (9-for-38) over his last 11 games, but six of his hits (five doubles and a homer) have gone for extra bases.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Collects two RBI in win

Durbin went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over St. Louis. Durbin was part of Boston's five-run ninth inning, the team's highest scoring inning of the season. His two-run single made it a 5-1 game, and he scored the final run. Durbin has at least one RBI in three of the last four games, but his .114/.188/.136 slash line has been a drag on the Red Sox.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Getting breather Tuesday

Durbin is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Brewers. Durbin logged his first career two-hit game as a member of the Red Sox in Monday's loss to Milwaukee, but he'll get a breather a day later. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will cover third base and bat ninth for Boston.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Breaks drought

Durbin went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Padres. Durbin, who was 0-for-18 on the road to start his stay in a Red Sox uniform, heard a smattering of boos Friday when introduced prior to Boston's home-opener. The boos grew a little louder after he hit into an inning-ending double play in the second inning. Durbin then turned the boos into cheers in his next plate appearance when he drove in the Red Sox's second run with a two-out RBI single. Despite the shaky start, Durbin will continue to be the primary starter at third base with the opportunity to build off his contribution to Friday's win.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Hitless in loss

Durbin went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Houston. Durbin is one of many Red Sox hitters to have stumbled out of the gate. Following a fifth consecutive hitless performance, Boston's primary third baseman is 0-for-18 with five strikeouts and one walk.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Taking seat Tuesday

Durbin is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Durbin is hitless through the first four contests of the season and will get a game to reset Tuesday in Houston. Andruw Monasterio will step in at the hot corner and bat sixth for Boston against Astros righty Hunter Brown.

  • Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Looks healthy for camp

Durbin (elbow) was spotted taking part in infield drills at third base during Monday's full-squad workout, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports. Durbin underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his right elbow in late October, but he doesn't look like he'll be operating with any restrictions in his first spring training with the Red Sox, who acquired him last week in a six-player deal with the Brewers. It should be noted that Marcelo Mayer took part in drills at second base. Where Durbin and Mayer, both of whom have experience at second and third base, eventually land is one story in Boston's spring training. During his rookie campaign with Milwaukee, Durbin served as the team's primary third baseman and was a threat on the basepaths (18 steals in 24 attempts) and made contact at an elite clip (9.9 percent strikeout rate), but his 26.9 percent hard-hit rate ranked in the fourth percentile of all batted and limited his slugging production. With that in mind, Durbin's bat may profile better at second base rather than third base, but the Red Sox will likely give him a look at both positions throughout the spring.

  • Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Scheduled for surgery

Durbin will undergo arthroscopic elbow surgery Oct. 30, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Durbin's elbow began bothering him toward the end of the season, so he will now go under the knife to address the issue. The 25-year-old infielder is expected to be fully recovered by the time spring training begins in February.

  • Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Pair of steals Tuesday

Durbin went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Rangers. Durbin logged multiple stolen bases for the third time this season, bringing his season total to 15 steals. The infielder is in the midst of a minor cold spell at the plate, having just one hit in his last 14 at-bats. He's slashing .253/.327/.386 in 443 plate appearances in 2025.

  • Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Getting breather Wednesday

Durbin isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. After going 9-for-24 with a homer, two RBI, three runs scored and a steal over his last six games, Durbin will get a chance to rest his legs Wednesday while Anthony Seigler starts at the hot corner.

  • Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Drives in team's lone run

Durbin went 1-for-3 with an RBI double during Saturday's 7-1 loss to San Francisco. Durbin supplied the Brewers' only run Saturday on an RBI double to right field in the second inning. It broke a four-game hitless streak for Durbin, who got the start at second base and could be seeing more time at the keystone if Brice Turang is out for an extended period of time while nursing a wrist injury.

  • Brewers' Caleb Durbin: Sitting again versus righty

Durbin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta. With left-hander Joey Wentz starting for Atlanta on Tuesday, Durbin rejoined the starting nine and went 0-for-4 with a walk across his five plate appearances, but he's still maintained a robust .320/.393/.440 slash line over 84 total plate appearances versus southpaws this season. Durbin has been far less effective against righties (.302 wOBA, 94 wRC+ in 242 plate appearances), though serviceable enough to remain the Brewers' best option at third base in those matchups. Even so, Durbin will find himself on the bench for the fourth straight game against a righty (Spencer Strider) while Brewers manager Pat Murphy once again goes with the switch-hitting Anthony Seigler at the hot corner. When asked about the shakeup at third base Tuesday, Murphy told Adam McCalvy of MLB.com that the rigors of the long season have played a factor in his decision to hold the rookie out of the lineup more frequently of late, though the skipper didn't indicate that Durbin has fallen into a strict platoon with Seigler. Nonetheless, the lack of consistent starts against right-handed pitching of late has made it more difficult to count on Durbin to compile counting stats.
