Brooks Lee 3B | MIN
Twins' Brooks Lee: Back in lineup Tuesday
Lee (shoulder) is starting at second base and batting ninth Tuesday against the Cubs.
Lee sat out the past two games while dealing with soreness in his right shoulder, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's matchup at Wrigley Field. The 23-year-old has struggled at the plate since the All-Star break with a .229/.309/.229 slash line in 13 games.

Mauricio Dubon LF | ATL
Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Sitting Tuesday
Dubon isn't in the Astros' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Dubon will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after going hitless in 11 at-bats across his last four games. Yordan Alvarez will fill the open spot in Houston's outfield, allowing Zach Dezenzo to serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Still out of lineup Tuesday
Buxton (undisclosed) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.
The 30-year-old departed Sunday's contest after colliding with the center-field wall and will sit Tuesday for the second straight game. The Twins labeled Buxton's removal Sunday as precautionary and announced he had been medically cleared, but two straight absences seem to indicate otherwise. Austin Martin will receive a start in center field Tuesday for Minnesota.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Rangers' Tyler Mahle: Officially activated
The Rangers reinstated Mahle (elbow) from the 60-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Astros.
Mahle will make his 2024 debut Tuesday and his first MLB appearance since undergoing Tommy John surgery in May of 2023. The right-hander threw 74 pitches in his most latest minor-league rehab start and shouldn't face and significant workload restrictions Tuesday. In six rehab starts, Mahle allowed five runs in 18 innings with 18 strikeouts.

Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL
Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Out again Tuesday, as expected
O'Neill (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Kansas City, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
It's an anticipated absence, as O'Neill will miss a fourth straight start as he battles a stomach virus. The hope is that he will be ready to return to action Wednesday. Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu will patrol the outfield for Boston on Tuesday.

Walter Pennington RP | BAL
Rangers' Walter Pennington: Sent back to minors
The Rangers optioned Pennington to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old will give way to Tyler Mahle on the active roster Tuesday just four days after being called up from Round Rock. Pennington appeared in one game for the Rangers, allowing one run on one hit and three walks across one inning. Pennington was acquired by the Rangers from Kansas City before the trade deadline.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Back in lineup Tuesday
Diaz (thumb) will start at first base and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz had to depart Sunday's game against the Astros with a bruised left thumb, but he's back in action Tuesday without having missed any starts. He'll enter play Tuesday sporting a .963 OPS in eight contests since returning from the restricted list.

Jose Trevino C | CIN
Yankees' Jose Trevino: Nearing rehab assignment
Trevino (quadriceps) could start a rehab assignment as soon as Sunday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Trevino has been sidelined for three weeks due to a Grade 2 strain of his left quad. However, the catcher is getting close to appearing in games, with Sunday or Tuesday being named as potential dates for Trevino's minor-league rehab to begin. It's unclear how many rehab games he'll require before being cleared for activation.

Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Reinstated from injured list
The Angels activated Rendon (back) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
The 34-year-old is back on the active roster after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf due to lower-back inflammation. Rendon will have to wait a day before seeing game action, however, since Tuesday's game was postponed into a doubleheader Wednesday.
