Twins' Byron Buxton: Hits clutch home run
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-4 win versus the Tigers.
Buxton's moon shot to center in the fifth gave Minnesota a 4-1 lead, which it would not relinquish. It's the 20th homer of the season for the two-time All-Star and the third time he's reached that threshold during his MLB career. The center fielder returned to the lineup Tuesday after he sustained a shoulder bruise from collision with the outfield wall last week, and he's homered in his first two games back from the injury.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Goes yard in return to lineup
Buxton went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Tigers.
Back in the lineup after a two-game absence due to a shoulder bruise, Buxton was in his usual spot in center field and as the leadoff hitter, and he demonstrated he was healthy by crushing the first pitch he saw from Troy Melton over the fence in left-center field. It was Buxton's 19th homer of the season in 56 games, and he's slashing .255/.316/.554 with five steals, 29 RBI and 42 runs.

Buxton was removed from Friday's game against the Royals with a right shoulder contusion after colliding with the outfield wall, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Buxton initially remained in the game after running into the wall while making a catch in the third inning, but he was later lifted for a pinch hitter. The Twins haven't yet offered any information on the severity of their star outfielder's injury, but more details should come in the near future.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Launches 18th homer in loss
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to Kansas City.
Buxton wasted no time getting Minnesota on the board, leading off the bottom of the first inning with a 430-foot solo homer off Seth Lugo to tie the game. The blast was his 18th of the season, as he sits at the fourth-most long balls in MLB. The veteran outfielder also added a second hit and a walk as he continues to be productive following his recent return from hip issues. Since rejoining the lineup, Buxton is batting 14-for-56 (.250) with three homers across 14 games.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Resting up Sunday
Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
With the Twins wrapping up their series in Pittsburgh with a day game, Buxton is likely just getting a planned maintenance day after he recently missed time due to a sore right hip flexor. Since returning to the lineup May 19, Buxton has made all but one of his 10 starts at designated hitter and has gone 10-for-39 (.256 average) with two home runs, three doubles, four RBI and seven runs. The Twins haven't indicated when Buxton might be ready to play center field on a full-time basis, but fantasy managers can feel comfortable with keeping him active while he's still seeing regular at-bats at DH.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Buxton (hip) is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.

Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
Buxton will be relegated to the bench for a fifth straight game while he continues to recover from a sore right hip flexor. Twins' Byron Buxton: Expecting to avoid IL stint
Twins manager Derek Shelton suggested that Buxton (hip) is likely to avoid the injured list and return to the lineup soon after the outfielder worked out on the field prior to the Twins' games Saturday and Sunday against the Brewers, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports. "The fact that he's out there moving around, I think we're trending in the right direction," Shelton said of Buxton. "And then we'll have a better idea [about Buxton's potential return] after he gets out and moves around."
Buxton hasn't played since Wednesday while he contends with right hip flexor soreness, but he appears to be confident that he'll return to the lineup in a matter of days. The outfielder will presumably go through another pregame workout Monday, after which the Twins will decide if he's fit to return to the lineup for the series opener versus the Astros. While Buxton has been on the bench the past four games, Ryan Kreidler and James Outman have shared center field, and right fielder Austin Martin has been elevated to the leadoff spot.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Held out again Sunday
Buxton (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.
It's the fourth straight contest on the bench for Buxton as he continues to manage a hip injury. It's not clear how seriously the Twins have considered placing the outfielder on the injured list, but that possibility grows more likely with each additional game he misses. Ryan Kreidler is manning center field Sunday.
