After landing on the IL on July 7 due to an aggravation of a prior right hip injury, Buxton remained out for the Twins' first series coming out of the All-Star break against the Cubs over the weekend, but he was able to hit for the past few days and took part in defensive drills Saturday. The Twins' upcoming four-game series with the Guardians might help inform whether they fall into the buyers or sellers camp ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline, and having Buxton available for any of those contests would be a major boon.

Buxton has been in and out of the lineup over the past week with a right hip issue, and he aggravated the injury during Sunday's game against the Yankees.
