Laureano is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Laureano started the previous six games but will take a seat Sunday after going 4-for-19 with two doubles during that stretch. Ryan O'Hearn will receive a look in right field while Adley Rutschman rests his legs as the designated hitter.

Smith started at shortstop and went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Seattle.

Corey Seager was activated off the 10-day injured list Saturday but was deployed as the DH, leaving Smith at shortstop for at least one more game. Texas' somnambulant offense needs Smith, who is one of the few batters producing with any regularity, so expect manager Bruce Bochy to find a home for the utility player somewhere on the diamond. The Rangers have lost four straight games, and Smith's home run Friday has been the lone extra-base hit for the team during the losing streak.

Seager started at designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Mariners.

Seager, who was activated off the 10-day injured list earlier in the day, was given a soft landing as the DH in his return from a hamstring injury. In time, Seager will resume his role as the everyday shortstop.

Bieber (elbow) threw a live batting practice session Friday, MLB.com reports.

Bieber came out of the session without issue, but manager Stephen Vogt said the right-hander still "has a ways to go" before getting into game action. The 29-year-old made only two starts in 2024, posting a dazzling 0.00 ERA and 20:1 K:BB in 12 innings before being shut down and undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Kwan went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over Toronto.

Kwan's second single of the day in the ninth inning put him in position to score on Daniel Schneemann's grand slam. Kwan entered the series against the Blue Jays in an 0-for-12 slump, but he's broken out in the first two games, going 5-for-9 with a double and a run scored.

Wilson started at third base and went 0-for-2 in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays.

Jose Ramirez was shelved after spraining his right ankle during Friday's game, which opened up the hot corner for Wilson. The Guardians have multiple options currently on the roster to fill in at third, but Ramirez's injury is not considered serious. Wilson has gone 3-for-16 with two walks and a run scored since being called up in April.

Volpe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, but he's considered day-to-day after receiving encouraging MRI and X-ray results, Jim Bowden of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old felt a "pop" in his left shoulder during Saturday's contest while diving for a groundball, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. Volpe will sit for at least one game, while Oswald Peraza receives a start at shortstop in his place.

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Langeliers started the first two games of the series but will take a seat for the finale after going 0-for-9 with an RBI. Jhonny Pereda will step in behind the plate to catch for lefty JP Sears on Sunday.

Isbel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Drew Waters will get the start in center field while Isbel sits for the second time in the last four games. Isbel brings quality defense in the outfield, but he's not been much of a fantasy asset while frequently hitting at the bottom of the Kansas City order this season. He's slashing just .241/.244/.361 with two home runs, one steal, 11 RBI and seven runs through 30 games.

Perez (hip) will serve as the Royals' designated hitter and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Kansas City held Perez out of the lineup for the first two games of the series due to a sore left hip he sustained Thursday, but the 34-year-old has evidently displayed enough improvement to make his return. The Royals haven't indicated when Perez might be ready to resume full-time duties behind the plate, however, so he could be confined to the DH spot for a few more games. Luke Maile, who's getting the start Sunday, and Freddy Fermin will pick up more work at catcher until Perez is deemed ready to play defense.
