Morton didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Rangers, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out three.

The veteran righty held Texas in check for four of his five frames, but he was lucky escape the fourth inning with only three runs on his ledger, as some shaky Baltimore defense kept the snowball rolling after he issued a leadoff walk to Corey Seager. The three strikeouts were Morton's lowest total since a relief appearance May 10, and over six starts since rejoining the rotation, he's gone 4-0 while posting a 2.90 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB through 31 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which lines up to be a rematch with the Rangers next week in Texas.

Carter went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Orioles.

On a night when half of Texas' runs came on close plays at the plate, Carter scored the biggest one of the night. The center fielder began the 10th inning as the phantom runner, advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scampered home on Sam Haggerty's fielder's choice as he just got his hand under Gary Sanchez's tag attempt. Through 17 games in June, Carter is slashing .320/.404/.560 with three homers, three steals, eight RBI and 10 runs as he finally begins to return to the form he flashed as a rookie in 2023.

Castro (wrist) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout and played three innings at second base in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Mariners.

Castro entered the game in the sixth inning as a pinch hitter in place of Kody Clemens in what was the former's first appearance since Saturday. Assuming Castro's right wrist didn't provide any complications in his cameo off the bench, he could re-enter the starting nine Wednesday.

Walcott started at third base and went 2-for-4 with three steals for Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.

Walcott, who has played mostly shortstop this season, made his seventh start at third base. All seven have come over the last month. At 6-foot-4, Walcott can be viewed as a slugger first, but the prospect also has a speed component and uses his long legs to eat up distance on the basepaths. The 19-year-old Walcott has 15 steals (caught five times) through 66 games.

Garcia struck out one in a perfect 10th inning Tuesday to record his sixth save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Orioles.

Luke Jackson worked 1.1 scoreless innings in front of him to collect the win, and Garcia was dominant to secure the save -- after the phantom runner advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt, the southpaw struck out Dylan Carlson and got Jackson Holliday to fly out weakly to right field to end things, tossing seven of his nine pitches for strikes overall. Jackson appears to have worked his way back into the highest-leverage mix, collecting a win, a save and two holds over his last five appearances, but Garcia is still manager Bruce Bochy's preferred closing option for the moment despite blowing two of his last seven save chances. During that 10-appearance span, Garcia's posted a shaky 4.82 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB in 9.1 innings.

Latz came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Orioles, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks over six-plus innings. He struck out four.

The southpaw had a no-hitter going through six innings as the Rangers built a 3-0 lead, but after Latz gave up a single to Ramon Laureano and walked Gunnar Henderson to begin the seventh, he had to watch from the dugout as Chris Martin served up three straight home runs to erase his chance at a win. Latz has been outstanding over his last five appearances (two starts), posting a 3.50 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 18 innings. His 14:8 K:BB over that stretch is less impressive, and suggests that he likely wouldn't sustain his current level of success if he were to receive a longer run in the rotation. With Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) on track to return from the injured list this weekend, Latz will likely head back to the bullpen.

Haggerty entered Tuesday's game as a pinch hitter and stole three bases in a 6-5 extra-inning win over Baltimore. He went 0-for-1 with a walk and an RBI.

Haggerty was vital to the Rangers' win. He walked in the eighth, stole two bases and scored the game-tying run that set up the extra inning. In the 10th, his fielder's choice brought home the game-winning run. Haggerty's been on a bit of roll lately, going 8-for-20 (.400) with two extra-base hits, one RBI, five walks, three steals and four runs over the last seven games. The three steals give him eight through 35 games this season. The switch hitter is usually in the starting lineup against lefties and will fill in when needed against righties.

Clemens went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Mariners.

Clemens got the Twins on the board with a solo blast off Luis Castillo in the third inning. Clemens has picked up three consecutive starts at second base, and he could be in store for regular opportunities against right-handed pitching while the absence of Royce Lewis (hamstring) creates an opening in the infield.

Stephan (elbow) has had his rehab assignment moved to Double-A Akron, MLB.com reports.

Stephan made two appearances in the Arizona Complex League and two for Triple-A Columbus before the organization shifted him to Akron. He threw two scoreless innings for the RubberDucks on Tuesday, allowing one hit while striking out two. In total, the right-hander has a 6.35 ERA with eight strikeouts and three walks over 5.2 rehab innings.

Paddack allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out four in five innings Tuesday against the Mariners. He did not factor into the decision.

All the damage against Paddack came in the third inning. The Mariners did not have an extra-base hit in the frame but managed to string together five runs due to some shaky pitching and a fielding error from Paddack himself. It's a third straight rough start for the 29-year-old righty, who's given up 18 runs (16 earned) over that span. Things won't get easier for Paddack, as he's set to face the Tigers on the road this weekend.
