Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Reaches three times in loss
Swanson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays.
Swanson had been in a bit of a funk, as he entered Sunday batting just .135 over his last 10 games. The shortstop did muster three home runs during that stretch, however, and he's been mostly solid in his first season with the Cubs with a .787 OPS overall. Swanson posted a .776 OPS last year with Atlanta, where he tallied 25 home runs and 96 RBI as part of a potent offensive attack.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Swats homer Sunday
Perdomo went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Padres.
Perdomo hasn't done well in August, as this was his first multi-hit effort of the month. He's gone 7-for-30 (.233) over his last 11 contests. The shortstop is still seeing a starting role against right-handers, but he's been at the bottom of the lineup in his last two games. Perdomo has a .270/.371/.405 slash line with six homers, 38 RBI, 50 runs scored and 13 stolen bases over 100 contests, but it's tough to see him rebounding well enough to bump Corbin Carroll out of the leadoff spot.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Collects four RBI in win
Rojas went 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBI in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Rockies.
Rojas had a solo shot in the fourth inning, while his three other plate appearances were productive outs that each generated a run. While he's gone a paltry 8-for-36 (.222) in August, he's up to eight RBI over 13 games this month despite routinely hitting toward the bottom of the order. The infielder has a .219/.271/.287 slash line with two homers, 20 RBI, 35 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 306 plate appearances this season.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Dealing with back spasms
Abrams was removed from Sunday's win over the Athletics in the top of the eighth inning due to back spasms, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Abrams went 0-for-3 to begin Sunday's matchup and was replaced defensively by Jeter Downs to begin the eighth inning. It's unclear whether Abrams will be forced to miss additional time, but he'll at least be able to rest during the Nationals' scheduled day off Monday.

Marco Luciano SS | NYY
Giants' Marco Luciano: Out multiple weeks
The Giants will re-evaluate Luciano (hamstring) in a couple of weeks, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Luciano was expected to join the major-league squad when he came out of Tuesday's game at Triple-A Sacramento, but it was later revealed he suffered a strained hamstring. The fact that he will be out for multiple weeks before the team takes another look at him indicates that Luciano may be dealing with a Grade 2 strain, though nothing has been confirmed at the moment. A timeline for the young infielder's return will likely emerge after he gets evaluated.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Sitting Sunday
Rocchio isn't in the Guardians' lineup Sunday against the Rays.
Rocchio is batting .304 (7-for-23) over his last seven games and will sit out Sunday's series finale after an 0-for-4 effort Saturday. Jose Tena will draw the start at shortstop instead and bat ninth, and Gabriel Arias will start at third base.
-
Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Sitting out Sunday
Anderson isn't in the White Sox's lineup Sunday against Milwaukee.
Anderson is slashing just .188/.278/.219 since the beginning of August, so he'll get a day off for Sunday's series finale. Elvis Andrus will shift to shortstop in Anderson's absence, allowing Zach Remillard to start at second base and bat ninth.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Gets breather Sunday
Pena isn't in the Astros' lineup Sunday against the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Pena has been red-hot at the plate lately, slashing .333/.447/.385 in 47 plate appearances since the start of August. He'll get a day to rest Sunday while Grae Kessinger starts at shortstop and bats eighth.
