Jose Barrero SS | BAL
Reds' Jose Barrero: Optioned to Triple-A
Barrero was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Friday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Barrero will head to Louisville after spending the entirety of the 2023 campaign with the Reds to this point. He's struggled to a .218/.295/.323 slash line over 46 games, and with Nick Senzel (knee) being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Barrero was the odd man out on the major-league roster. The 25-year-old will look to get into a groove with Louisville before potentially being recalled later this summer.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Swipes fourth bag
Rojas went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the White Sox.
Rojas notched his second straight two-hit performance and nabbed his first theft since the final day of May. The shortstop's sprint speed ranks in the 30th percentile leaguewide, but he's shown some savviness on the basepaths with 31 steals in 39 attempts over the past three-plus seasons. However, he has a paltry .258 OBP on the campaign and has yet to hit a homer, so he's not much of an asset outside of some deep fantasy formats.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Marlins' Joey Wendle: Back in action Friday
Wendle (groin) has returned to the lineup for Friday's game versus the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Wendle sat out the previous three contests with a groin issue but is feeling well enough to give it a go Friday. He'll be covering shortstop and batting sixth against Trevor Williams and the Nats.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Blasts sixth homer
Tovar went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI in Thursday's 8-3 loss to Atlanta.
Tovar cut the Rockies' deficit to 5-2 in the fourth inning with a 424-foot shot off AJ Smith-Shawver. In 14 games since the start of June, the 21-year-old Tovar is now batting .286 (16-for-56) with three homers and an .811 OPS. His slash line is up to 251/.289/.414 with six homers, 32 runs scored, 30 RBI and three stolen bases through 253 plate appearances in his rookie campaign.

Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN
Reds' Noelvi Marte: Nursing hamstring strain
Marte has been sidelined at Double-A Chattanooga since June 3 with a hamstring strain, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Rosecrans says the trip to the 7-day injured list was precautionary, so it sounds like a mild strain. On the season, Marte is slashing .293/.366/.484 with eight home runs and 10 steals in 47 games. His 16.9 percent strikeout rate is the best mark of his career, and this is his first exposure to Double-A pitching.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Keeps raking in twin bill
Arcia went 4-for-8 with two runs scored and four RBI across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of the Tigers.
The veteran shortstop collected two hits and drove in two runs in each half of the twin bill. Arcia has been on a tear in June, getting held hitless only twice in 12 games while reeling off six multi-hit performances for a .378 average (17-for-45) with one homer, five runs and 10 RBI. The surge has boosted his slash line on the season to .331/.383/.470 -- putting him on pace to top his previous career best in OPS by 120 points.

Matt McLain SS | CIN
Reds' Matt McLain: Hits third home run
McLain went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 7-4 victory over the Royals.
McLain hit his first home run since May 24 and notched his 13th multi-hit effort across just 28 games (132 plate appearances). The rookie has remained at shortstop after the elevation of Elly De La Cruz and is locked into the No. 2 hole in Cincinnati's emerging lineup. McLain is slashing .328/.379/.516 with three home runs, 13 RBI, two stolen bases and 23 runs scored to start his big-league career.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Rises to second in order
Tovar went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI on Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Tovar hit second in the order for the fourth consecutive game -- half of which have come against lefties -- after hitting almost exclusively eighth or ninth in the order for the first 10 weeks of the season. He has one hit in three of those four games and also has a pair of RBI and runs. In the last month, Tovar has hit .274 with three home runs, 10 RBI and 13 runs scored across 112 plate appearances.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Moves to keystone
Perdomo started at second base and went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to Philadelphia.
The four times reaching base was a season high for Perdomo, who eventually came around to score on Christian Walker's three-run home run in the eighth inning. Perdomo filled in for Ketel Marte (back) at second base -- his sixth start there -- and also took his spot atop the batting order against lefty Ranger Suarez. Marte did appear in the game as a pinch hitter and could rejoin the starting lineup in Thursday's series finale.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Records eighth steal
Berti went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Mariners.
Berti hadn't recorded a steal in his last 21 games, though a drop in playing time since the start of June has made it difficult for him to get many chances on the basepaths. The speedster is up to eight steals in 12 attempts this season, a far cry from the 41 thefts he logged a year ago. He's slashing a respectable .259/.308/.330 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 25 runs scored, a triple and five doubles over 203 plate appearances. He's at a 6.9 percent walk rate, and the struggles to get on base mixed with a spot in the bottom half of the order will likely continue to limit his effectiveness.
