Giants' Marco Luciano: Recalled from Triple-A

The Giants recalled Luciano from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Luciano went 4-for-21 with nine strikeouts over seven games during his most recent stint in the big leagues, but he'll get another shot with the Giants after slashing .281/.359/.421 with two homers and six RBI across 64 plate appearances since returning to Triple-A. Casey Schmitt was optioned to Sacramento in a corresponding move.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Back in action Tuesday

Edwards (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Nationals.

The 25-year-old suffered the back injury Aug. 23 against the Cubs and is rejoining the Marlins after a minimum-length stay on the IL. Edwards has a .349/.428/.436 slash line with one homer, 22 steals, 17 RBI and 25 runs in 47 games this season and should serve as Miami's starting shortstop and leadoff man for the stretch run.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Aiming for return this week

Edwards (back) resumed full baseball activities last week and anticipates returning from the 10-day injured list at some point during the Marlins' six-game homestand that runs Tuesday through Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Miami placed Edwards on the IL on Aug. 26 with mild back extensor soreness, but he looks poised to return in the minimum 10 days or close to it. Once reinstated, Edwards should reclaim an everyday role at shortstop while potentially displacing Connor Norby as the Marlins' primary leadoff hitter.

  • Mookie Betts RF | LAD

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Drives in three runs Monday

Betts went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs and three RBI in an 11-6 win over Arizona on Monday.

Betts singled home Los Angeles' first run with a third-inning single and added a two-run double in the eighth. The star right fielder has been very productive of late, knocking in at least one run in nine of his past 12 contests and tallying 14 total RBI over that span. Betts has added two homers, four doubles, nine runs, three steals and a .261/.321/.478 slash line during the 12-game stretch.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Goes deep in loss

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Pirates.

Swanson launched his 13th home run of the season in the third inning, helping the Cubs build an early 3-0 lead that they eventually squandered. Chicago's shortstop has largely fallen short of expectations overall this year with a .687 OPS, but he's been more productive of late, posting a .296 average with four long balls and 14 RBI across his last 15 games. Swanson should continue to see regular playing time as the Cubs fight to stay in the playoff race.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Hits another homer

Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Monday's 9-3 win over St. Louis.

Adames has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently, boasting a five-game home run streak and an 11-game hit streak. In that 11-game stretch, Adames has gone 15-for-55 (.273) with seven home runs, two stolen bases, 13 runs and 14 RBI, which has boosted his OPS for the season to .812.

  • Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Closing in on return

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that he's hopeful Lawlar (hamstring) can return from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Reno "soon," Jesse Borek of MLB.com reports.

Lawlar has been limited to just 13 games this season due to a pair of hamstring injuries, but he's almost ready to return to action. Lovullo added Monday that Lawlar is likely to play winter ball this offseason in order to make up for lost time.

  • Oneil Cruz SS | PIT

Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Swipes 20th bag

Cruz went 0-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Guardians.

Cruz reached base on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning and took advantage by swiping his 20th base of the season. He's gotten particularly aggressive on the basepaths in the last three weeks, as eight of his stolen bases have come in his last 17 games. Cruz needs two long balls to reach a 20-20 season in his first full slate of games in the majors.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Two hits, steal in win

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 14-3 win over the Dodgers.

Perdomo supplied a two-run double during the Diamondbacks' eight-run second inning. He had gone seven games without a multi-hit effort prior to Sunday, batting .136 (3-for-22) in that span. The shortstop is enjoying a breakout campaign, slashing .278/.345/.393 over 73 contests after missing over two months with a torn meniscus in his right knee early in the season. Perdomo has added three home runs, 29 RBI, 47 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 288 plate appearances.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Matches career best with four hits

Swanson went 4-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win against Washington.

Swanson matched his career-best mark with four hits Sunday and has now recorded an RBI in six consecutive games. After a lackluster start to the season, the 30-year-old has quietly provided excellent fantasy value since Aug. 1, batting .287 with 10 extra-base hits, 21 runs scored, 22 RBI and eight stolen bases in 106 plate appearances.
