  • Mookie Betts RF | LAD

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Launches decisive homer

Betts went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer during Tuesday's 3-1 win against Atlanta.

The shortstop's throwing error during the second inning gave Atlanta a 1-0 lead, but he redeemed himself with a 369-foot shot to left field in the sixth. Betts has a hit in all four of the games he's appeared in so far this season, going 6-for-16 with three home runs, six RBI and six runs scored.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Tallies three hits Tuesday

Abrams went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, a run and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Abrams doubled his early-season hit total and swiped his second bag of the year. He now has three extra-base hits in his last two games and bumped his batting average up to .286 after Tuesday's strong performance.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

    Braves' Orlando Arcia: Sitting Tuesday

Arcia is absent from Atlanta's lineup against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Arcia went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in the series opener against the Dodgers on Monday. He will get his second off day of the season with Nick Allen starting at shortstop and batting ninth.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Returns to lineup Tuesday

Lindor (personal) will play shortstop and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game versus the Marlins.

Lindor didn't play in Monday's win over the Marlins following the birth of his third child, but he's back at the top of the batting order for the second game of the series. The reigning National League MVP runner-up is still looking for his first hit this season.

  • Masyn Winn SS | STL

Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Harder contact after swing tweak

Winn went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in Monday's loss to the Angels but had a game-high three hard-hit balls.

During a rain delay in Sunday's game against the Twins, Winn compared video from 2024 to 2025 and worked on his swing with hitting coaches Brant Brown and Brandon Allen, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. They noticed in the 2025 video that his hips were leaning back before his swing, which led to lazy flyballs. Winn stood more upright during batting practice Monday and worked on driving through the ball. While he wasn't rewarded during Monday's game, Winn was heartened by the hard contact he made and is confident "everything is going to click" for him soon. The 23-year-old is 0-for-14 with seven strikeouts in his first four contests this season.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Goes deep again Monday

Swanson went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in Monday's 18-3 thrashing of the Athletics.

Swanson homered for the second straight game, swatting a solo shot to center field in the first inning. The veteran shortstop plated two additional runs on a sixth-inning double. Following a slow start to the campaign, Swanson has gone 4-for-9 with four RBI over his past two contests.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Scores go-ahead run as pinch hitter

Turner (back) drew a walk and scored a run as a pinch hitter in Monday's 6-1 win over the Rockies.

Turner hit for the left-handed-hitting Brandon Marsh against Rockies southpaw Scott Alexander, and he then crossed the plate for a go-ahead run on an Edmundo Sosa double in the seventh inning. Although Turner's appearance Monday doesn't necessarily guarantee he'll be back in the lineup for Wednesday's meeting with Colorado, the fact he was healthy enough to enter the contest suggests the star shortstop is nearly fully recovered from back spasms that scratched him from the lineup Saturday against Washington. Prior to Monday's matchup, Turner reported improvement and expressed optimism about returning Wednesday.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Cracks first homer of season

Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-2 loss to Toronto.

Abrams spoiled Blue Jays right-hander Bowden Francis' no-hit bid in the sixth inning, going deep for the first time this season Monday. The 24-year-old infielder is slashing just .176/.222/.353 with two RBI and one stolen base across 17 at-bats (four games) thus far, but Abrams should still be a strong source of power and speed in 2025 after recording 20 homers and 31 steals in 138 outings a year ago.

  • Matt McLain SS | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Stays hot Monday

McLain went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, four runs scored and a walk in Monday's win over the Rangers.

McLain knocked a two-run homer in the first inning, wasting no time going deep for a third consecutive game. He's now 5-for-16 with four extra-base hits and seven runs scored through four games. McLain posted an impressive .864 OPS as a rookie in 2023 but missed the entire 2024 campaign due to shoulder and rib injuries. It's worth noting that all four of his starts have been at second base after he spent some time in the outfield during the Arizona Fall League in 2024.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Delivers monster performance

De La Cruz went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, seven RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 14-3 win over the Rangers.

Using the much-discussed torpedo bat for the first time, De La Cruz got started early Monday with a single, a stolen base and a run scored in the first inning. He then drilled a three-run shot in the second and a two-run double in the sixth before capping off his ridiculous night with a two-run blast in the seventh. De La Cruz had one hit in each of his first three games this season before Monday's big breakout performance. It was the second time in his MLB career that he knocked multiple home runs and swiped a bag in the same game.
