Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Reportedly facing suspension
Anderson will be suspended by MLB for his role in Wednesday's benches-clearing altercation, Stadium reports.
This has not been confirmed by MLB or any of the White Sox's beat writers. It also flies in the face of common sense, as Anderson was essentially the victim in Wednesday's altercation. If he does indeed get handed a suspension, he would almost assuredly appeal the punishment, so he may not sit out any games this weekend.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Homers in extended spring
Wendle (hamstring) hit a home run in extended spring training Thursday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Wendle has now played in extended spring games in back-to-back days, lending credence to the notion he could return as planned at some point during the weekend series against the Red Sox. The versatile infielder has been on the injured list since April 1.

Yu Chang SS | TB
Indians' Yu Chang: Diagnosed with finger sprain
Chang has been placed on the 7-day injured list due to a left finger sprain, Tribe Insider reports.
It remains to be seen whether Chang will need more than the minimum before returning from the injured list, but it appears he's managed to avoid a significant injury.

Indians' Yu Chang: Lands on IL
Chang was placed on the 7-day injured list with Triple-A Columbus with an undisclosed injury.
He dealt with a finger injury in spring training, but there has been no word regarding the nature of this most recent injury. Chang was hitting .171 with 13 strikeouts in 11 games so far with the Clippers.

Chris Owings SS | LAD
Royals' Chris Owings: Takes seat Thursday
Owings is not in the lineup Thursday against the Yankees.
Owings will head to the bench for Thursday's series opener after starting the previous 10 games for the Royals, slashing .278/.350/.444 with a homer and two stolen bases during that stretch. Whit Merrifield will cover second base in place of Owings, with Jorge Soler starting in right field and Lucas Duda getting the nod at designated hitter.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Crushes homer before ejection
Anderson went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run before being ejected from Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Anderson hit a 418-foot blast during the fourth inning and was fairly demonstrative as he made his way toward first base, and he was plunked by Brad Keller in his next at-bat. Both players were then ejected after the benches cleared, though Anderson didn't really seem to do much to warrant the early exit. The 25-year-old is now slashing .424/.443/.678 with four home runs and six stolen bases.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Indians' Francisco Lindor: Could return Friday
Lindor (ankle) will rejoin the Indians on Friday, at which point the team will evaluate whether he's ready to be activated from the 10-day injured list, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Indians have said all along that Lindor wouldn't need a lengthy rehab assignment. The team could certainly use its star shortstop back to ignite a struggling offense which ranks 27th in the league with a 65 wRC+.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Mariners' Dee Gordon: Hits bench for series finale
Gordon is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Indians, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Gordon has started the past 10 games for the Mariners, going 11-for-36 (.306) with a homer and two stolen bases in that stretch, so he'll hit the bench for what appears to be a regular day off. In his place, Dylan Moore is starting at the keystone and hitting ninth.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Indians' Francisco Lindor: Homers in rehab game
Lindor (ankle) went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a strikeout in Tuesday's rehab game with Triple-A Columbus.
It was Lindor's first rehab game, and his ankle looked just fine during his trot around the bases. He injured the ankle during a rundown in a minor-league game late in spring training while he was rehabbing a calf injury. Lindor has suggested that when he sprained his ankle, the calf issue was essentially already behind him. Manager Terry Francona said he did not expect Lindor to need many at-bats in the minors, so a return this weekend against Atlanta would seem on the table.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Could return over weekend
Wendle (hamstring) could be activated from the injured list this weekend, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.
Wendle has a pair of rehab games scheduled, first in extended spring training Wednesday and then Thursday with High-A Charlotte. The Rays will make a decision based on how those games go.
