Wendle landed on the 10-day injured list with right wrist inflammation Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Wendle heads to the injured list for the third time this season. He's hit just .206/.274/.277 in 46 games when available. It's not clear when he's expected to return. Kevin Kiermaier (thumb) returned from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Bichette will start at shortstop and lead off Wednesday against Royals.

After batting sixth in his MLB debut Monday, Bichette unseated Cavan Biggio as the leadoff man in Tuesday's 9-2 win and reached base three times, recording two singles and a walk. The 21-year-old will once again bat atop the lineup in the series finale and could end up sticking in the leadoff role for the remainder of the season if he performs up to snuff. Handling the table-setting duties on a regular basis would be a boon to Bichette's fantasy value, as he would likely be afforded more running opportunities than would be possible batting out of the bottom half of the order.

Anderson went 0-for-3 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Mets.

Anderson's ninth-inning, run-producing sacrifice fly sent the game into extra innings. He returned to the lineup after missing 26 games due to an ankle injury.

Gordon (quadriceps) is traveling with the Mariners during their current road trip and is scheduled to work out with the team during its weekend series in Houston this coming weekend, Alyson Footer of MLB.com reports.

Gordon has been able to resume taking batting practice and appears on the cusp of starting to perform some drills in the field as well. The speedster is eligible to be activated from the injured list as early as Friday, but he's slated to remain out at least a week past that point. "He's doing better," manager Scott Servais said. "If he gets through the workouts in Houston, we'll send him out on a rehab shortly after that, and then back with us. Just a game or two [of rehab], to make sure he's 100 percent."

Anderson (ankle) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Anderson will wind up missing slightly over a month with his sprained right ankle. He hit .348 over the course of five rehab games and should now return to a key role in Chicago's lineup, where he hit .317/.342/.491 prior to the injury. Ryan Cordell was optioned in a corresponding move.

Bichette went 1-for-4 in his big-league debut Monday during a win over the Royals.

Getting the start at shortstop and hitting sixth, the 21-year-old also turned a nifty unassisted double play in the field and looked more than ready for the big leagues. The Jays' infield of the future is now in place with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bichette and Cavan Biggio all on the roster, and the club's fortunes will ride heavily on their development.

Bichette had his contract purchased from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday and is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth against the Royals, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Bichette is set to make his highly-anticipated big-league debut after putting together a solid .275/.333/.473 triple-slash with eight home runs and 15 stolen bases in 56 games for Buffalo. With the well-regarded prospect immediately slotting in at shortstop, Freddy Galvis will man second base while Cavan Biggio starts at DH in Monday's series opener. Eric Sogard was traded to the Rays on Sunday, which freed up a roster spot for Bichette.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.

Bogaerts singled and scored Boston's first run on a homer off the bat of Andrew Benintendi in the fourth inning, then crossed the plate for the team's final run after singling and being driven home by Benintendi's hit in the ninth. The three-hit game capped a productive series in which Bogaerts went 9-for-20 with two homers, three doubles, five RBI and seven runs scored, bringing his slash line to an impressive .316/.398/.575 with 23 homers and 81 RBI in 467 plate appearances this season.

The Mariners acquired Castro from the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for Kris Negron, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Castro has put together a .241/.304/.295 slash line with a home run and 11 RBI over 45 games this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He last surfaced in the big leagues during the 2018 campaign, though his stay lasted just 18 contests. He figures to be assigned to Triple-A Tacoma following Sunday's transaction and will serve as organizational depth.

Bichette will have his contract selected from Triple-A Buffalo prior to Monday's game against Kansas City, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Bichette has put together a .277/.336/.477 slash line with eight homers and 32 RBI over 55 games this season for Triple-A, and following Eric Sogard's departure, he'll get a shot to make his major-league debut. Freddy Galvis could be in danger of losing playing time at shortstop as a result.
