Carrasco (hamstring) could rejoin the Mets before he gets fully stretched out on a rehab assignment, Anthony Reiber of Newsday reports.

Speaking to reporters Friday, manager Luis Rojas said, "I don't know if we're going to do the one-inning, two-inning [outing] out of the chute when he goes to the rehab assignment, and then we'll see after that what he's going to do. But we were thinking of him, potentially, joining us not being at a full stretch, like not being at the six innings, or five, so he could join us even before that. So let's see how this week goes and then we'll share more what the plan is." Carrasco is expected to begin a rehab stint next week assuming all goes well during his bullpen session Saturday, but with the team trying to patch together its pitching staff after the All-Star break, the veteran hurler could be activated quickly and used as an opener or bulk reliever after only a couple minor-league appearances.

Gallen (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session Saturday.

After being placed on the injured list last Saturday, Gallen was back on the mound in relatively short order. Prior to his scheduled outing Saturday, the right-hander threw a 30-pitch session Wednesday. It's conceivable Gallen throws a rehab start over the All-Star break with a possible return soon after the break.

Morton (8-3) picked up the win in Friday's 5-0 victory over the Marlins, scattering two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

In arguably his best start of the season, Morton fired 59 of 95 pitches for strikes while not allowing a runner to get past second base. The veteran right-hander has eight quality starts on the year, including four in his last five outings, and he'll carry a 3.64 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 114:33 K:BB through 99 innings into the All-Star break.

Webb pitched three scoreless innings against Washington on Friday, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out four. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander made his first big-league appearance since May 29, so he didn't go very deep into the game despite pitching effectively. Still, it was a triumphant return for Webb, who had posted a 1.06 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB over his past three starts before going down with a shoulder injury in early June. Assuming he came out of Friday's contest fine, Webb should continue to stretch out as a member of the rotation following the All-Star break. His next start could come on the road against the Dodgers.

Freeland (1-3) lost Friday's 4-2 game against San Diego, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings.

Freeland had allowed just a single run through five innings but was removed after permitting the first two batters in the sixth to reach base, at which point reliever Tyler Kinley allowed both to score to saddle Freeland with the loss. The lefty only threw 64 pitches in the short appearance and surrendered three runs or less for the fourth straight start.

Brubaker (4-9) took the loss Friday versus the Mets. He allowed six runs on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five-plus innings.

Brubaker had pitched well through five innings, but he got into trouble in the sixth. An RBI single from Dominic Smith and a three-run home run by Pete Alonso were enough to hand the right-hander his fourth loss in his last four starts. During the skid, Brubaker's allowed 16 runs in 23.2 innings, including eight homers. He's posted a 4.47 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 88:19 K:BB across 88.2 inning overall.

Walker allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two in five innings in a no-decision versus Pittsburgh on Friday.

Originally scheduled to pitch Thursday, Walker instead took the mound a day later due to rain. He didn't pitch deep into Friday's contest, and the Mets' offense didn't come alive until after he was out of the contest, leaving him with just his second no-decision in his last eight starts. Walker has enjoyed arguably the best season of his career with a 2.50 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 89:30 K:BB through 90 innings. He could make his next start in Pittsburgh coming out of the All-Star break.

Lauer (3-4) allowed a run on four walks and four hits over six innings Friday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Reds.

Lauer held the Reds scoreless through three innings before coughing up an RBI double to Tucker Barnhart in the fourth. It was his third consecutive quality start and he dropped his season ERA to 3.83 through 56.1 innings this season. He took his first loss since June 14 and broke a short two-start winning streak. With as well as he's pitched recently, Lauer should continue getting looks as a starter after the All-Star break.

Velasquez (3-4) took the loss Friday versus Boston. He allowed eight runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two in 2.1 innings.

The right-hander was tagged for three home runs that accounted for half of the hits he allowed. Velasquez has allowed multiple homers in just five of his 18 appearances (14 starts), but two of those instances have been in his last two starts. The 29-year-old has a 5.35 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 77:40 K:BB across 72.1 innings. He'll likely make his next start in next weekend's four-game series versus Miami after the All-Star break.

Miley (7-4) allowed three walks and seven hits over eight scoreless innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Miley danced around multiple Milwaukee threats in his first scoreless appearance since June 6. He's been charged with two or fewer earned runs in eight of his last nine outings, lowering his season ERA to 2.80 through 96.1 innings. He's recorded a 44:15 K:BB during that same stretch. Miley will get back on the mound after the All-Star break.
