Mikolas allowed one run on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings during Monday's win over the Cubs. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

Mikolas worked around danger multiple times before the Cubs finally broke through in the fifth inning. An RBI double from Dansby Swanson ended his start. Mikolas punched out a season-high seven batters despite forcing only five swinging strikes. The veteran righty lowered his season ERA to 5.40 with a 41:12 K:BB through 41.2 innings. Mikolas' next start is projected to be in Boston this weekend.

Peralta (4-2) allowed one run on three hits and two walks over six innings against the Dodgers on Monday. He struck out five and earned a win.

Peralta cruised through five scoreless innings with little issue before a Max Muncy groundout finally put the Dodgers on the board in the sixth. Over his last three starts, Peralta has given up five runs over 18 innings (2.50 ERA) while recording a 23:5 K:BB. He's allowed two or fewer runs in five of his first seven starts, resulting in a 3.32 ERA. Peralta is projected to take the mound in St. Louis next week.

Gonsolin (0-1) gave up three unearned runs on three hits over six innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Brewers.

Gonsolin faced little pushback from Milwaukee through four shutout frames. He ran into trouble in the fifth after a fielding error and Joey Wiemer made him pay with a three-run shot. It was the longest start of the year for Gonsolin, who threw 54 of 80 pitches for strikes as he works towards a full workload. He's sporting a 1.93 ERA and a 10:5 K:BB through 14 innings. Gonsolin is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Padres this weekend.

Sanchez played catch Monday without experiencing discomfort, Noah Berger of FishStripes reports.

While this doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment, it's definitely a small step forward for the right-hander, who felt soreness in his shoulder following his last appearance in extended spring training. If all goes well over the next few days, it would make sense for Miami to put him on the bump for a live bullpen session or a simulated game.

Cueto (biceps) suffered a sprained left ankle during Saturday's rehab start, Noah Berger of FishStripes reports.

Cueto was forced to exit the outing after an awkward fall, and he's since been diagnosed with an ankle sprain to go along with the right biceps injury that sent him to the injured list. A timetable for Cueto's return is unknown at this time.

Wood (hamstring) could return to San Francisco's rotation later in the week, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Wood looked strong in his latest rehab appearance at Triple-A Sacramento, and he told skipper Gabe Kapler after the start that he feels ready, per Emerman. The team has yet to make anything official, but it's possible the lefty could make his return to the mound Friday in Arizona, likely bumping Ross Stripling back to a relief role.

Ortiz joined the Pirates and is expected to be called up from Triple-A Indianapolis to start Tuesday against the Rockies at PNC Park, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Ortiz, 24, flashed promise in the majors last season and thus far in his seven starts with Indianapolis. Over 32.1 innings with the affiliate, Ortiz has logged a 2.23 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 29:11 K:BB . Control can be a problem, but Ortiz can miss bats and induce groundballs. It's not clear whether he'll be in store simply for a spot start or if he could stick around a while, but Ortiz is a viable streaming option in a favorable home matchup versus Colorado.

Carrasco (elbow/illness) will make a rehab start with Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday, Michael Mayer of MetsmerizedOnline.com reports.

Carrasco had been slated for his first rehab outing over the weekend, but that had to be scratched because he was under the weather. Evidently, he's feeling better now and will take the ball Tuesday with Binghamton. The Mets had anticipated Carrasco needing just one rehab start before returning, although it's unclear whether that's still the case after he was delayed a bit. He's been out since mid-April with a bone chip in his pitching elbow.

Wood (hamstring) covered 3.2 innings and was charged with two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out one in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Sacramento.

Making his first appearance at any level since April 18, Wood tossed 46 pitches (31 strikes) in the outing. The Giants presumably want to have Wood get stretched out to the 70-to-80-pitch range before bringing him back from the 15-day injured list, so he'll presumably need at least one or two more rehab starts prior to being activated.

Pfaadt is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Marlins at Chase Field.

Even though Pfaadt was tagged for seven earned runs on nine hits -- including four home runs -- in his MLB debut last Wednesday at Texas, the Diamondbacks will give one of their top pitching prospects at least one more chance to prove he's worthy of a longer stay in the big-league rotation. Assuming Pfaadt can escape Tuesday's outing with a more credible line than he submitted in his debut, he'll likely receive his second start of the week this upcoming Sunday against the Giants, also at Chase Field. Pfaadt led all minor leaguers with 218 strikeouts in 2022 and never posted a walk rate above 6.5 percent across any of his stops as a professional, so if he can do a better job of limiting damage on flyballs in his future starts, the right-hander's fantasy upside could be immense.
