  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Covers three innings in rehab

Miller (shoulder) struck out three and allowed two hits and one walk over three scoreless innings in a rehab appearance Sunday with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Miller has made all but one of his 37 career big-league appearances as a starter, but he looks to be preparing for a relief role during his rehab assignment. While he's covered multiple innings in each of his first three rehab outings, he's been used out of the bullpen for the last two appearances. The 27-year-old righty has been on the shelf all season while recovering from shoulder and back injuries and may need another tune-up outing or two in the minors before potentially joining the Los Angeles bullpen.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Begins rehab assignment

Miller (shoulder/back) allowed a solo home run and struck out three over two innings in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Miller made his first appearance of the season at any level, as he's experienced shoulder soreness coming out of spring training and was then slowed by a back issue earlier this summer while ramping up. He averaged 96.9 mph with his four-seamer in Wednesday's outing, which isn't far off from the 97.6 mph he averaged with the pitch last season. Miller could help the major-league club down the stretch -- likely in a relief role -- but the Dodgers aren't counting on it, given the hurler's performance and injury issues dating back to 2024.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Set to resume mound work

Miller (shoulder/back) will resume throwing off the mound this week, Cody Snavely of DodgersBeat.com reports. Miller suffered a right shoulder injury early on in spring training, and he revealed Tuesday that he then dealt with a back injury that slowed his throwing progression. However, Miller noted that he's progressed well since then and is "getting stronger and stronger." Miller's career has been sidetracked by injury and poor performance the last two years, and it's unclear whether the Dodgers will have him work as a starter or reliever at Triple-A Oklahoma City once he's ready to report there. He was moved to the bullpen last July at OKC but held a 5.52 ERA and 31:20 K:BB over 31 innings in a relief role.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Lands on 60-day IL

The Dodgers placed Miller (shoulder) on the 60-day injured list Monday. Miller was slowed by shoulder soreness this spring, and the injury is evidently bad enough that the Dodgers opted to go ahead and put him on the 60-day IL. The righty converted to a relief role in the minors last season and is surely headed back to Triple-A Oklahoma City once he returns to full health.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Throws off mound Tuesday

Miller (shoulder) threw off a mound Tuesday, Jack Harris of the California Post reports. It's the first time throwing from the bump this spring for Miller, who has been battling right shoulder soreness. As long as he continues to progress, Miller should be able to get into some Cactus League games later this month. The righty is ticketed for Triple-A Oklahoma City once he's fully healthy.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Held back by arm problem

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Miller has yet to throw off a mound this spring due to an arm/shoulder issue, Jack Harris of the California Post reports. Miller hopes to ramp things up in the coming days, but he's clearly behind other Dodgers pitchers in camp. The 26-year-old has struggled to gain any traction the last two seasons either in the majors or minors, and he was moved to the bullpen at Triple-A Oklahoma City last year. Miller is likely headed back to OKC to begin the 2026 season, but he might get held back in extended spring training first, depending on his health.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Returns to majors

The Dodgers recalled Miller from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports. The Dodgers are short on fresh arms after playing 13 innings against the Mets on Friday, so they'll call upon Miller to help solve that problem. The right-hander has given up six runs in three innings with Los Angeles this season and has turned in a 5.87 ERA since being sent down to Oklahoma City in mid-April, so he'll likely be reserved for low-leverage situations. Matt Sauer was optioned to Triple-A to make room on the active roster.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Sent back to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Miller's season debut Wednesday probably didn't play out the way he had hoped, as he surrendered six earned runs on eight hits and a walk across three innings, though he did collect seven strikeouts. The 26-year-old's poor showing will earn him a ticket back to Oklahoma City, freeing up a roster spot for Evan Phillips (shoulder) to make his return from the injured list over the weekend.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Recalled ahead of start

The Dodgers recalled Miller from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies. Miller never quite got his feet underneath him in the majors last season, turning in an 8.52 ERA and 1.77 WHIP across 56 innings in 13 outings. He's off to a much better start in the minors this year with three runs allowed through 12 frames, and he'll get another chance to prove he can stick with the big-league squad. Landon Knack was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Candidate for spot start

The Dodgers may consider calling up Miller to fill a void in the rotation next week, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports. With Blake Snell (shoulder) landing on the injured list Sunday and both Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki on a once-per-week pitching schedule, Los Angeles is likely to need fill-in pitchers next Tuesday and Wednesday against Colorado at the tail end of a stretch of six games in six days. The team has recently given big-league starts to both Landon Knack and Justin Wrobleski, but they struggled mightily in their outings. The Dodgers could go back to one or both of those hurlers or go with a bullpen game, but Miller is also a possibility for a call-up. He's had success in the big leagues in the past, logging a 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 22 regular-season starts in 2023. The righty lost his rotation spot last year after struggling to an 8.52 ERA over 56 regular-season innings, and with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season he's allowed three earned runs with a 7:8 K:BB over 9.2 frames. After Wednesday, Los Angeles has just five games over the following eight days, so the team's need for spot starters will be less urgent. In the longer term, there may not be room for Miller in the Dodgers' rotation -- Snell is eyeing a short-term stay on the IL, Tony Gonsolin (back) may need just two or three more rehab starts before he's ready to be activated, and Shohei Ohtani (elbow) could begin pitching in games some time in May.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Ready to pitch at Triple-A

Miller (concussion) is listed as a projected starter for Triple-A Oklahoma City's third game of the season Sunday versus Sugar Land. Miller was unable to make a push for a spot on the Dodgers' Opening Day roster after he took a comebacker to the head in his Cactus League debut Feb. 20, resulting in him being placed in concussion protocol. Though he didn't make any other appearances in spring training, Miller was cleared to resume throwing a few days after suffering the injury and was able to get stretched out through simulated games and minor-league games on the back fields of camp. Miller should make regular turns through the Oklahoma City rotation as he keeps himself ready for a potential starting opportunity with the Dodgers later on in the season.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Facing hitters Friday

Miller (head) will throw a live batting practice session Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. It will be his first time facing hitters since he was struck in the head by a comebacker back on Feb. 20. Miller has been out of concussion protocol for a few days, but it's not clear when he might be ready to return to games. The right-hander is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: No longer in concussion protocol

Miller is out of concussion protocol and has returned to throwing bullpen sessions, per MLB.com. Miller had a scary incident in which he was struck in the head by a comebacker Feb. 20, and the righty hurler was subsequently placed in concussion protocol. However, he's since been cleared to resume throwing and is back to ramping up. Miller threw about 35 pitches in a bullpen session Friday and said he'll likely need to take part in one more bullpen before returning to game action, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Slated for bullpen session

Miller (concussion) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Miller remains in concussion protocol as a result of a line drive he took off the head during his first Cactus League appearance last week. He's been cleared to throw this week, however, and he'll continue to ramp up with the goal of returning to game action before long.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Cleared to resume throwing

Miller (head) will resume throwing Monday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Miller has been shut down and in concussion protocol after being hit in the head by a line drive during his first Cactus League appearance last week. However, he managed to avoid a serious injury and has been cleared to ramp his throwing back up. It's not clear when Miller might be ready for appear in a game again. Miller is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Hoping to throw soon

Miller (head) reported having a headache Friday, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the club hopes the right-hander will be able to start throwing again soon, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Miller was involved in a scary situation in Thursday's Cactus League opener against the Cubs when a live drive struck him in the head. However, he avoided any fractures and does not have any concussion symptoms yet, although he will remain in concussion protocol to be safe. It's not yet clear when Miller might be ready to pitch in a game again.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Struck in head by comebacker

Miller was removed from Thursday's Cactus League appearance versus the Cubs after being hit in the head by a comebacker, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Miller came into the game in the top of the third inning and walked the leadoff man. The second batter, Michael Busch, drilled an offering right back up the middle, which struck Miller in the head and caused him to fall to the ground. Miller was able to walk off the field under his own power but will likely undergo concussion tests.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Optioned back to OKC

The Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. The move comes one day after another poor start in which Miller surrendered four runs on seven hits and one walk across two innings against the Marlins. He's managed an ugly 8.52 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in a horribly disappointing 2024 campaign. The Dodgers have not yet announced a replacement for Miller's spot in the rotation.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Struggles continue vs. Marlins

Miller allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk across two innings in a no-decision Tuesday against Miami. He struck out two. It was another rough outing for Miller -- the right-hander's now allowed 17 runs across 11.1 innings in his last three starts. His ERA is up to an ugly 8.52 on the year with a 1.77 WHIP and 52:30 K:BB across 56 innings. Miller would currently line up for a home start next week against the Padres, should the Dodgers elect to give him another look in the rotation.

  • Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Another ugly outing

Miller did not factor into the decision in a win over the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two. Miller got knocked around early, issuing back-to-back walks, followed by back-to-back singles with two outs in the first inning. He would surrender two runs in the frame before then going on to give up two long balls between the third and fifth innings. It marked Miller's second consecutive start in which he allowed at least six runs, and he's now given up multiple home runs in five of his last six outings. The right-hander's ERA now sits at an atrocious 8.17 for the season.
