Arizona manager Torey Lovullo would not commit to activating Davies (back) for a start Sunday, Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic reports.

Davies had a second rehab start Tuesday, throwing 80 pitches, which lines up perfectly for a Sunday return, but the skipper isn't ready to make that decision. "We're just gonna evaluate him day to day," Lovullo said. "He's gonna rejoin us at some point. When that happens, we're not sure." Perhaps the results of Tuesday's start linger with the manager. The right-hander allowed seven runs on 11 hits with just two strikeouts in three innings. Lovullo was encouraged that Davies pitched with more of a gameplan following a five-run first inning, then added he wants to make sure Davies is feeling good following the outing.

Megill (7-6) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out five.

Megill allowed the leadoff man to reach base in each of the first three innings, with the latter coming home to score on a Bryan Reynolds home run. However, the right-hander was still able to get through five innings of work despite also matching his season high with four walks. It marked Megill's first win since June 16 against the Cardinals, though he still holds a 7.20 ERA through three August starts, along with a 11:5 K:BB.

Miley dropped to 6-3 after giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Dodgers.

Miley had given up just two runs over 10 innings across his first two starts back from a left elbow injury. The 36-year-old southpaw had some trouble with the top of the Dodgers' order, and the Brewers were limited to three hits and three walks in the game. Miley is now at a 3.05 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB through 82.2 innings over 16 starts this season. He's tentatively projected for a home start against the Twins next week.

Kershaw allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out two over five innings to improve to 11-4 on the season in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Brewers.

Kershaw again limited the damage to one solo home run for the second start in a row since he returned from left shoulder inflammation. The southpaw threw 44 of 71 pitches for strikes in this outing. With the Dodgers comfortably in the driver's seat in the NL West, it's no surprise they're taking it easy on Kershaw down the stretch. He's at a 2.48 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 111:26 K:BB through 105.1 innings over 18 starts. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Cleveland.

Morton (12-10) earned the win over the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over six scoreless innings.

Morton was sharp in the start, at one point retiring 10 straight batters and never allowing a runner to reach third base. The veteran racked up 15 swinging strikes and tied a season high with 10 punchouts while recording his second straight scoreless appearance. In his previous start -- a win over the Mets -- Morton walked seven batters, but he was much more in control Wednesday, issuing just one free pass. He's showing that he still has gas in the tank in his age-39 campaign, holding a 3.54 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 146:66 K:BB through 134.2 innings.

Stripling allowed five runs on 11 hits and struck out three without walking a batter over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rays on Wednesday.

Ryan Walker gave up an unearned run in the first inning and the Giants never led the contest, sparing Stripling from taking the loss. It certainly wasn't a good outing for Stripling, who had given up a combined four runs over 14.2 innings across his last three outings. The right-hander is now at a 5.29 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB through 78.1 innings over 19 appearances (11 starts). The Giants seem to prefer having Stripling following an opener, something he'll likely do again next week on the road in Philadelphia.

Snell improved to 10-8 after allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Orioles.

Snell has now given up two or fewer runs in all but one of his last 16 outings. The southpaw was able to limit the damage to a sacrifice fly in the first inning and a Ryan Mountcastle solo home run in the sixth. Snell is now at a 2.65 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 176:78 K:BB through 136 innings over 25 starts this season. He's projected for a home start versus the Marlins next week.

Luzardo (8-8) took the loss Wednesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and three walks over 3.2 innings against Houston. He struck out three.

The Astros jumped on Luzardo early Wednesday, tallying five runs on three homers in the first inning. The 25-year-old left-hander appears to have hit a wall of late -- he's struggled to a 10.59 ERA over his last four starts (17 innings). Overall, Luzardo's ERA is up to 4.13 with a 1.29 WHIP and 160:41 K:BB across 25 starts (137.1 innings) this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for next week in San Diego.

Abbott (8-3) earned the win Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits over five innings against the Guardians. He struck out five.

Abbott's held opponents to just two runs in both of his last two starts (10.2 innings), striking out 14 in that span without issuing a walk. The rookie southpaw now sports a 2.99 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP and 88:27 K:BB across 14 starts (81.1 innings) this season. Abbott will look for a third straight win in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week against the Angels.

Gore left Wednesday's start against the Red Sox due to a cut nail on his left index finger that developed into a blister, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Gore was taken out of the game after throwing a pitch way out of the zone, but he downplayed the injury after the game. The 24-year-old southpaw surrendered just one hit through 6.1 scoreless frames Wednesday and said that he should be able to make his next start -- tentatively lined up for next Wednesday against the Yankees.
