Rea (4-2) notched the win Saturday in Boston, yielding two runs on three hits and three walks over 5.2 frames. He recorded two strikeouts.

Jared Koenig opened and did yeoman's work, retiring all four batters he faced, including three via strikeout. Rea then took over and put up a bunch of zeros himself before the Red Sox finally broke through in the seventh, scoring a couple runs on three hits. The right-hander had come into this one with a 7.20 ERA over his last three outings, which might be why the Brewers elected to use an opener to switch things up. Rea is likely to face the Cubs next, although whether it will be as a traditional starter or bulk reliever again is unclear.

Keller (6-3) picked up the victory Saturday against Atlanta, allowing just one run on six hits over 6.2 innings. He registered four strikeouts.

Keller was efficient, needing only 88 pitches to complete his 6.2 frames. Although the right-hander struck out just four, he had a solid 15 whiffs on his 88 offerings. Keller entered May with a 5.18 ERA and no wins in his last three starts. In four outings this month, he's 4-0 with a 1.30 ERA, although the strikeouts haven't been there with only 19 in 33.1 innings. Keller's next outing is projected to come in Toronto.

Lopez (2-2) took the loss Saturday in Pittsburgh, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk over just 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

Saturday marked the right-hander's shortest outing of the season and also his fewest number of pitches thrown (70) in a start this year. Lopez labored a bit in the third and fourth frames, and Atlanta manager Brian Snitker elected to pull his starter after he yielded a two-out single in the fifth. The righty hasn't won a game since April 16 even as he still holds a 2.43 ERA since that date.

Rea will follow opener Jared Koenig out of the bullpen Saturday versus Boston, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Rea was originally slated to start Saturday's contest, but the Brewers will instead opt to use Koenig as an opener for the second game in a row. The 33-year-old Rea got off to a hot start in 2024, but he has given up 12 earned runs in 15 innings across his last three starts.

Cabrera (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing after a May 17 bullpen session, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The Marlins elected to shut Cabrera down after the session, and the club is still trying to figure out the best plan for the right-hander to begin ramping up again. He received an injection in his shoulder May 8, but his stop-start progress since then isn't encouraging. It seems unlikely Cabrera will be back in the big-league rotation before late June.

Harrison came away with a no-decision in Friday's 8-7 comeback win over the Mets, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

The rookie southpaw got hit hard, serving up loud homers to J.D. Martinez and Mark Vientos in the fifth inning, and Harrison left the mound with the Giants down 5-2 before they once again rallied, becoming only the fourth team since 1900 to win three straight games that it had been trailing by at least four runs. Harrison has pitched into the sixth inning only once in his last five starts, and curiously the exception came at Coors Field. He'll take a 3.90 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 55:21 K:BB through 60 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Phillies.

Kelly (shoulder) underwent an MRI earlier this week, and it showed significant healing, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

The results are encouraging, but the team will have multiple doctors review the images to be sure. Kelly was placed on the 15-day injured list April 23, two days after being scratched from a start, and then he was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 2.

Marquez (elbow) will return to Denver to throw bullpen sessions during the Rockies' weekend series against the Phillies, MLB.com reports.

Manager Bud Black said the team wanted to see Marquez's progress after he had been working at the team's spring training facility for the last few weeks. If things go well, Marquez could embark on a rehab assignment in the near future for the final stage of his recovery from May 2023 Tommy John surgery, but he's still not expected to be back in the big-league rotation until July.

Darvish (4-2) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings Friday, taking the loss versus the Yankees.

Darvish was done in by the long ball -- the Yankees teed off for four home runs against him, three of which came in the third inning. Prior to Friday, Darvish had allowed just two homers across his first nine starts of the season. It was a jarring end to his 24-inning scoreless streak, which coincided with a four-start winning streak. Even after this dud, the right-hander has a 3.04 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 51:14 K:BB over 53.1 innings across 10 starts. Darvish will look to keep the ball in the yard in his next start, which is tentatively projected to come at home versus the Marlins.

Garrett (1-0) allowed four hits and struck out six while walking none, tossing a complete-game shutout to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Garrett had the best start of his career, throwing just 95 pitches (71 strikes) over his nine innings Friday. He began the year on the injured list with a shoulder injury and allowed 11 runs in 9.2 innings over his first two starts before this gem. Garrett has a 5.30 ERA on the year, but his 1.02 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB across 18.2 innings paint a much more encouraging picture. The 2016 first-rounder is projected for a road start versus the Padres his next time out.
