Scott was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Scott will take the roster spot of Taylor Clarke, who was optioned to Reno after Sunday's game against the Nationals. The southpaw has failed to impress across 44 innings at Triple-A this season, notching a 6.95 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 55:33 K:BB with the Aces.

Ginkel had his contract selected from Triple-A Reno on Monday.

As expected, Ginkel will join the Diamondbacks ahead of Monday's series opener against the Phillies, replacing Zack Godley -- who was designated for assignment -- on the roster and in the bullpen. The 25-year-old has been working as the closer at Reno, converting 11 of his 12 save chances while posting a shiny 1.78 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 63:14 K:BB in 35.1 innings. If Ginkel is able to carry his success to the majors, he could quickly settle into a setup role in front of Archie Bradley, who appears to be Arizona's top options for saves after Greg Holland was removed as closer.

Clarke was optioned to Triple-A Reno following Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Clarke didn't factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on four hits (two home runs) and a walk while striking out three in 5.2 innings. Despite the serviceable outing, it wasn't enough for the right-hander to keep hold of a starting gig with Zac Gallen -- who was acquired from the Marlins in exchange for Jazz Chisholm last week -- set to make his debut for Arizona on Wednesday. Clarke owns a lackluster 5.46 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 48:22 K:BB in 62.2 big-league innings this season.

Underwood was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Monday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Craig Kimbrel (knee) was sent to the injured list in a corresponding move, allowing Underwood to rejoin the Cubs just five days after his most recent demotion to the minors. Underwood has yet to log an appearance in the majors this season; he owns a 5.09 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 86:38 K:BB in 76 innings at Triple-A.

Williams was recalled from Triple-A San Antonio on Monday, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.

Williams earned his first promotion to the majors by posting a combined 2.21 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 82:30 K:BB in 57 innings between San Antonio and Double-A Biloxi. He'll replace Aaron Wilkerson, who was sent to Triple-A on Monday, on the roster and in the bullpen.

Kimbrel was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday with right knee inflammation, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Kimbrel apparently felt discomfort after his most recent outing, during which he allowed one hit and struck out a batter en route to picking up his ninth save of the season Saturday against the Brewers. According to Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times, the anticipation is that the veteran reliever won't be forced to spend much more than the minimum 10 days sidelined. Duane Underwood was summoned from the minors to take Kimbrel's place on the roster, while Steve Cishek and Brandon Kintzler are candidates to fill in for Kimbrel in the ninth inning.

Sims has made four appearances out of the bullpen since his July 24 spot start in Milwaukee, working 6.1 innings and giving up three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 12.

Sims' relief numbers have been sullied by him allowing home runs in two of those appearances, but the 25-year-old has otherwise looked dominant when he's been able to keep the ball in the yard. The 52-58 Reds are 5.5 games off the pace for a wild-card spot and could be motivated to use the final two months of the season to experiment with some of the younger options on their 40-man roster. As such, Cincinnati may want to see if Sims can pop in a multi-inning relief role rather than having him get stretched back out as a member of the Triple-A Louisville rotation.

Avila (elbow) covered 3.1 innings Sunday in his rehab outing with the Padres' rookie-level Arizona League affiliate. He gave up one run on three hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Avila pushed his pitch count up to 33 while making his third rehab start for the affiliate. The right-hander, who has been on the 7-day injured list since April with a right elbow strain, should soon be ready to report back to Double-A Amarillo. Avila made his MLB debut prior to sustaining the injury, but the extensive time he missed likely hurts his chance of making it back to San Diego when rosters expand in September.

Morejon worked out of the bullpen in the Padres' four-game series with the Dodgers over the weekend. He appeared only in Thursday's 8-2 loss, striking out four but giving up two runs on five hits in two innings.

Morejon started in two of his prior three appearances for the Padres, though he acted as more of an opening pitcher in both of those outings. In an effort to limit the young lefty's workload over the final two months of the season, Morejon likely won't be asked to cover more than three innings in any of his subsequent appearances with the big club. Expect the Padres to work him in mainly in lower-leverage situations until his performance warrants a move up in the bullpen hierarchy.

Menez will be recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to start against the Nationals on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Off days have allowed the Giants to get by with a four-man rotation for the past couple of weeks, but Menez will get another look in the rotation with the team in need of a fifth starter for its upcoming series against the Nationals. The 24-year-old southpaw held his own in his big-league debut last month, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out six in five innings.
