Melancon struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning Sunday, earning the save over the White Sox.

Melancon is now a perfect 8-for-8 in save chances this season, including seven saves with the Braves since Aug. 13. The 34-year-old's 3.88 ERA isn't ideal but he should remain the team's closer down the stretch.

Iglesias earned the save against St. Louis on Sunday by striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Iglesias entered the game having allowed six earned runs in his last 2.2 innings but appeared dominant against the Cardinals on Sunday, whiffing all three hitters he faced on 17 pitches. The 29-year-old has faced scrutiny over his job security as a result of his result struggles but may have calmed the tempest a bit with the impressive outing. Iglesias has now converted 28 of 33 save chances this season while posting a 4.55 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 77:20 K:BB over 57.1 innings.

Young yielded two runs on five hits over 4.1 innings Sunday, striking out five batters in the loss to the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.

David Freese and Russell Martin each tagged Young with a solo homer in this one, but the rookie southpaw had a solid outing aside from that. It was his first outing without issuing a walk since July 2. Young will carry a 3.84 ERA into Cincinnati on Saturday.

Suarez is flying into St. Louis and will be active for the team's three-game series Monday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

It appears as though Suarez is coming back to the Giants' roster as a corresponding move to Reyes Moronta (shoulder) being declared as out for the season with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The 26-year-old has posted a 7.43 ERA to go along with a 1.91 WHIP and a 17:12 K:BB ratio across 23 innings with the Giants this season.

Jansen struck out two batters in a perfect eighth inning during Sunday's win over Arizona.

Jansen allowed five runs in nine appearances in August, blowing three of his four save chances in that span. He's still the team's main closer, and this strong outing to start September could do wonders for his job security and performance.

Chafin allowed a homer to the only batter he faced Sunday, blowing a save in the loss to the Dodgers.

Chafin was called on to record a two-out save but promptly allowed a game-tying shot to Cody Bellinger before getting yanked. The 29-year-old lefty is 0-for-3 in save chances this season with a 4.07 ERA.

Hoffman (1-5) gave up two runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out three through five innings to take the loss against the Pirates on Sunday.

Hoffman allowed a leadoff home run to start the game but settled down to only allow one run in the next four innings. The 26-year-old has a 7.35 ERA with a 46:19 K:BB through 10 starts this season. Hoffman was quickly given his first start since being recalled when rosters expanded, but it is not clear at this point if he will be given another start.

Manager Dave Roberts said Alexander (forearm) won't be activated off the 60-day injured list this season, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Alexander was first sidelined with left forearm inflammation in early June, but he's also dealt with nerve and thumb issues. The 30-year-old will finish the season having appeared in only 28 games and posting a 3.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 9:7 K:BB over 17.1 innings.

Hart was designated for assignment by the Mets on Sunday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Hart was likely hoping to be recalled for September's roster expansion, but he instead loses his spot on the 40-man roster in favor of infielder Sam Haggerty. Hart delivered 7.2 scoreless frames between the Brewers and Mets this season, but he had more lackluster results (4.43 ERA and 1.52 WHIP) at Triple-A Syracuse.

Scott was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Scott had a 6.94 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 61:35 K:BB across 48 innings for Reno and will makes his way back to the majors thanks the September's roster expansion.
