Anthony Rendon 3B | LAA
Angels' Anthony Rendon: Goes through agility drills
Rendon (groin) went through agility drills on the field pregame Wednesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Rendon has also being doing some baseball activities indoors as he works his way back from a left groin strain. The veteran third baseman is eligible for activation from the injured list but seems likely to require a rehab assignment before returning. It's unclear when that might happen, although it does seem he's trending in the right direction.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Takes grounders Wednesday
Machado (hand) played catch and took grounders Wednesday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Machado was able to receive the ball without issue despite the small fracture in his left (glove) hand. He's yet to take batting practice, which is going to be the biggest test, but Machado did take swings off a tee Tuesday. The star third baseman is making swift progress and might even be able to pull off a late-weekend return from the injured list. He's first eligible for activation Friday.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Evan Longoria: Homers Wednesday
Longoria went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies.
Longoria extended Arizona's lead to 5-0 with a two-run, 422-foot shot off Ranger Suarez in the third inning. He now has three home runs in his last seven games, bringing his total to six this season. However, the 37-year-old veteran still offers marginal fantasy utility at this point while filling the short side of a platoon. He's now slashing .221/.269/.477 with 13 runs scored and 10 RBI through 93 plate appearances.

Jean Segura 3B | CLE
Marlins' Jean Segura: Sitting out Wednesday
Segura is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Colorado, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
After putting together a modest five-game hitting streak, Segura has gone hitless over his last three contests. Jon Berti will replace Segura at third base and serve as the Marlins' leadoff hitter.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Tigers' Nick Maton: Retreats to bench Wednesday
Maton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Maton will exit the lineup to clear a spot at designated hitter for Andy Ibanez, who re-enters the starting nine after a two-game break. Ibanez appeared to supplant Maton as a regular in the Detroit starting nine last week, but Ibanez may be back on the outs for a regular role after going 1-for-31 over his past nine games. Maton, meanwhile, started in each of Detroit's last three contests and went 3-for-8 with a solo home run and three walks.

Brian Anderson RF | ATL
Brewers' Brian Anderson: Hits another long ball
Anderson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-0 victory over the Astros.
After failing to reach in his first two at-bats, Anderson hit a solo home run in the seventh off Brandon Bielak to extend Milwaukee's lead to 4-0. It was the veteran's eighth home run of the year, and his third over his past eight appearances. During that stretch, Anderson has totaled four extra-base hits, seven RBI and four runs scored.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Rehab assignment on tap
Donaldson (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said it's possible Donaldson will be ready to return early next week for the team's series in Seattle, but the team is more likely leaning toward activating the veteran third baseman from the 10-day injured list ahead of the series versus the Dodgers that begins June 2. Donaldson has been sidelined since early April with a right hamstring strain. He encountered a couple setbacks along the way, first when he had to be pulled off an initial rehab assignment when the hamstring flared up and more recently when he sliced his thumb in a mishap at home. Donaldson is expected to be an everyday player when he rejoins the Yankees.

Matt Duffy 3B | TEX
Royals' Matt Duffy: Gets leadoff look Wednesday
Duffy is starting at second base and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Tigers.
Duffy carries a .328/.364/.426 slash line through 66 plate appearances this season and will be rewarded with his first look at the very top of the Royals' batting order. He's still not playing regularly, but he's making his rare opportunities matter and might be able to steal more starts from the slumping Michael Massey.
-
Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: On bench amid slump
Wisdom is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Mets.
Wisdom was among the most productive hitters in baseball in April, but he's slashed just .163/.293/.327 across 59 plate appearances since the calendar flipped to May. Miles Mastrobuoni will handle third base and bat second Wednesday versus New York. Christopher Morel is serving as the DH and hitting seventh.

Gunnar Henderson SS | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting day off Wednesday
Henderson is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Yankees, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The lefty-hitting Henderson will take a seat with the Yankees throwing left-hander Nestor Cortes. Henderson has gone just 4-for-31 with zero extra-base hits versus lefties this season. Joey Ortiz will play third base in his stead.
