  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Sent down to Louisville

The Reds optioned Marte to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports. Marte is just 4-for-30 with a 1:10 BB:K in August to drop his season batting line to .189/.229/.321. With Marte back in the minors, the Reds are likely to give Hector Rodriguez regular reps in right field.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Exiting lineup for nightcap

Marte is not in the lineup for the second game of Monday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals. Marte went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts in the first game and is just 4-for-30 with a 1:10 BB:K at the dish so far in August. Hector Rodriguez will start in right field in the second game of the double dip.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Idle for series finale

Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals. Marte will take a seat for the series finale in Washington after going 4-for-13 with two stolen bases, one RBI and one run while starting the past four games. Hector Rodriguez will take Marte's spot in right field and bat sixth.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: In lineup against lefty

Marte started in right field and went 1-for-2 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Athletics. Marte singled and scored in the second inning before driving in the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. He returned to the lineup after being held out against a right-hander Tuesday, when the Reds used rookie call-up Hector Rodriguez in right field. The left-handed batting Rodriguez is considered a top prospect in the organization and could emerge as the strong side of a platoon in right field while Spencer Steer (wrist) is on the injured list. After an initial burst of production when recalled in June (.913 OPS in 12 games), Marte's bat has languished since with a .173/.212/.296 slash line over 30 games since June 22.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Idle Friday

Marte isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies. After going 3-for-16 in his final five games before the All-Star break, Marte will retreat to the bench Friday while JJ Bleday, TJ Friedl and Spencer Steer form the Reds' outfield trio.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Sitting Saturday

Marte is not in the Reds' starting lineup against the Orioles on Saturday. Marte is in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, having gone 5-for-20 (.250) with one home run and three RBI in that span. He'll be on the bench for Saturday's contest while the Reds start JJ Bleday, TJ Friedl and Spencer Steer in the outfield from left to right.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Homers again Sunday

Marte went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks. Marte tied the game in the sixth inning with a 448-foot blast of Zac Gallen, his third homer of the year, all of which have come in his last three games. The 24-year-old Marte has seen steady playing time in the outfield since returning to the majors earlier this month. He's gone 8-for-26 (.308) with a 1.049 OPS in nine games since his recall after slashing just .138/.194/.138 across 11 contests earlier in the season. One major difference between how Marte is hitting now compared to earlier this season is that he's not chasing balls outside the zone, per C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic. During his initial stint, he had 10 strikeouts over 31 plate appearances compared to just five in 28 PAs since his recall.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Wins it with homer

Marte started in center field and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Diamondbacks. Marte was the difference maker, cranking a go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to secure the Reds' victory. He homered for the second time in as many days. Marte started in center field for the first time this season; until Saturday, he'd been a regular in right field since being recalled earlier this month.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Swats homer in loss

Marte went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Diamondbacks. Marte gave Cincinnati an early lead with his second-inning homer. It was the first homer of the season for Marte, who was recently recalled from Triple-A Louisville. He's hit safely in all five starts and appeared in seven contests since returning to the majors, going 6-for-19 with two extra-base hits, one RBI, three steals and three runs scored.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Sent down to minors

The Reds optioned Marte to Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Marte's playing time has been unsteady early on in the season and he hasn't helped himself with his performance, slashing just .138/.194/.138 with zero RBI and a 2:10 BB:K. The 24-year-old will try to get back on track at Louisville and should get another opportunity with the big club later this summer. Rece Hinds is taking Marte's spot on the roster and will get playing time in right field along with Will Benson.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Not in Thursday's lineup

Marte is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Marlins. Marte's playing time had been trending up with starts in three of the last four contests against righties, but he'll take a seat for the series finale as the Marlins send right-hander Max Meyer to the bump. TJ Friedl, Dane Myers and Spencer Steer will patrol the outfield for the Reds on Thursday.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: RF timeshare continues

Marte is starting in right field and batting eighth Tuesday against the Marlins. Marte received the Opening Day start for the Reds but has been alternating starts in right field ever since with Will Benson. Marte has started all three games against left-handed pitchers and is picking up his third start versus a righty Tuesday. The 24-year-old is off to a slow start, going 1-for-12 with six strikeouts in six games, and he may need to get on track soon in order to avoid falling into a lesser role.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Getting start versus righty

Marte will start in right field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game against the Pirates. The Pirates are sending right-hander Bubba Chandler to the hill, and Tuesday marks the first time that Marte has been in the lineup against a righty in three matchups this season. Will Benson -- who has been vying for playing time with Marte -- is also in the lineup, as he will slide over to left field while Spencer Steer gets a breather.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Locked in platoon

Marte has started in right field in two of the Reds' first four games, both against left-handers. Cincinnati manager Terry Francona made comments earlier this month to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com about Marte still being relatively new to the outfield, which may partially be the reason he's on the short side of platoon with Will Benson. Marte, ironically, was much better against right-handers (.821 OPS) than lefties (.562) in 2025.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Sitting again versus righty

Marte is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Pirates. Righty Braxton Ashcraft is taking the ball for the Pirates, marking the second time in two games versus righties in the early going that Marte has been on the bench in favor of the left-handed-swinging Will Benson. Marte has started in right field for both of the Reds' tilts against lefties. It's unlikely to be a strict platoon at the position, but it seems at this early stage of the season that Marte is behind Benson in the pecking order versus right-handed pitching.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Out of Saturday's lineup

Marte isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox. Marte struck out in both of his first two at-bats during Thursday's loss before being lifted for a pinch hitter. He'll now stay put in the Reds' dugout to begin Saturday's contest while Will Benson starts in right field, batting seventh.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Will play CF this spring

Marte will receive opportunities to play center field this spring, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. TJ Friedl is expected to get the most starts in center field this season, but the Reds want to see how Marte handles the new position. Marte moved from third base to right field in 2025, and though there were growing pains, he eventually proved himself to be competent and enters 2026 as the primary starter in right.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Sitting down for Game 2

Marte isn't in the lineup for Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series against the Dodgers on Wednesday. Marte will step out of the starting nine after going 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's Game 1 loss. Spencer Steer will move to the outfield as a result, opening up first base for Sal Stewart.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Contributes offense, defense in win

Marte went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Pirates. Marte, who homered in a 4-3 extra-innings win Wednesday, helped keep the Reds' postseason hopes alive for a second consecutive day. He singled in Cincinnati's first run and scored what eventually was the game-deciding run in the fifth inning. He wasn't done. In the ninth inning, the converted infielder robbed Bryan Reynolds of a game-tying home run over the right-field wall and preserved the win. With Austin Hays (back) still unavailable, Marte should continue to play daily.

  • Reds' Noelvi Marte: Completes comeback

Marte went 1-for-5 with two RBI in Monday's 5-4 win over the Blue Jays. The Reds squandered a lead in the top of the ninth inning but mounted their own comeback in the bottom of the frame. Marte finished it with a two-run single to walk off Toronto. He's scuffled the last week, batting .200 (6-for-30) with a 36.4 strikeout percentage, but Marte has delivered key hits during that run, including two home runs in addition to Monday's heroics.
