Madrigal was removed from Tuesday's game at Milwaukee with an apparent left wrist injury, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The 23-year-old collected a hit during his first at-bat Tuesday, but he hurt himself sliding into third base as he mistakenly decided to test the arm of Avisail Garcia by going first-to-third on a hit up the middle. Madrigal appeared to be in considerable pain and was cradling his wrist as he walked off the field, which is the same wrist he fractured in early 2018. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but he seems likely to be sidelined for at least a few days.

Moustakas left Tuesday's game with a bruised left quad, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

We'll await further word on how serious the injury is and how Moustakas suffered it. Kyle Farmer replaced him in the game.

Sosa landed on the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday.

Sosa is one of a number of Cardinals who tested positive for the virus in recent days. He'll remain sidelined until he's symptom-free and tests negative twice. Whether or not that comes before or after the Cardinals are cleared to play their next game remains to be seen.

McMahon is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Giants.

McMahon started each of the first nine games of the season but will hit the bench Tuesday even with a righty (Kevin Gausman) on the hill for San Francisco. Chris Owings gets the start at second base.

Machado went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base while scoring a run in a win over the Dodgers on Monday.

Machado didn't run much last season -- he tallied five steals in eight attempts -- but he has already swiped two bags early in the 2020 campaign. Padres manager Jayce Tingler appears to have brought a steal-happy philosophy to San Diego, so it is reasonable to expect a team-wide uptick in theft attempts throughout the campaign. The Padres lead all major-league squads in steals with 17 through 11 games, outpacing the next-ranked team (Seattle) by seven thefts.

Urshela went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a win over Philadelphia on Monday.

Urshela struck out twice in the contest, but he more than made up for the whiffs with a three-run shot in the sixth inning to break the game open. The 28-year-old has followed a breakout 2019 campaign with a strong start this season, slashing .300/.400/.667 with three homers and nine RBI through 35 plate appearances.

LeMahieu went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over Philadelphia on Monday.

LeMahieu got the Yankees off to a quick start with a solo home run leading off the bottom of the first inning. He also notched an infield single in the fifth inning to register his fourth multi-hit game of the campaign. LeMahieu is batting a tidy .412/.429/.618 with two homers and five RBI in eight games this season.

Senzel (finger) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cleveland, batting seventh and playing center field.

Senzel was scratched from Monday's lineup due to a sprained left ring finger, but the injury evidently wasn't particularly serious. He's gotten off to a strong start this season, hitting .286 with a homer, four doubles and a steal through his first six games.

Sosa is one of the Cardinals who has tested positive for COVID-19.

The entire Cardinals team is in the middle of at least a week-long shutdown in an attempt to prevent a further spread of the virus. Sosa in theory could have been the next man up at shortstop when Paul DeJong tested positive, but he now won't be appearing in any capacity until he's symptom-free and tests negative twice. He appears to have that first part covered already, as Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports the infielder is asymptomatic.

Donaldson (calf) remains sidelined Tuesday against the Pirates.

Donaldson is set to miss his fourth straight game after leaving Friday's game against Cleveland due to a tight calf. Marwin Gonzalez remains the third baseman in his absence. Donaldson is expected to travel with the Twins on their upcoming road trip, which begins Wednesday, though it remains unclear exactly when he'll return to the lineup.
