Atlanta re-signed Williams to a minor-league contract Nov. 18.

Williams was non-tendered by Atlanta and elected free agency last month but then immediately re-signed. The 27-year-old utility player has batted just .225/.281/.295 during parts of three seasons in the majors.

The Diamondbacks acquired Suarez from the Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for Seby Zavala and Carlos Vargas, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Suarez stumbled to a .232/.323/.391 batting line this season in Seattle, although he did hit 22 home runs and drive in 96 runs. The 32-year-old is owed $11.3 million in 2024 and has a $15 million club option (or $2 million buyout) for 2025. Suarez should provide more stability at a third base spot which was a revolving door for Arizona in 2023.

Wisdom avoided arbitration Friday with the Cubs on a one-year, $2.725 million contract, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Wisdom isn't a perfect player, but he hit 23 home runs over 97 games in 2023 and carries a .474 slugging percentage over the last three seasons. He'll again be a dangerous bench bat and corner-infield platoon option for Chicago in 2024.

The Brewers claimed Capra off waivers from the Pirates on Thursday.

Capra, 27, has logged only 28 career plate appearances at the major-league level, but he put up an encouraging .329/.412/.439 batting line over 49 games with the Triple-A affiliate of the Pirates in 2023. He'll function as organizational infield depth for Milwaukee.

Muncy signed a two-year, $24 million contract extension with the Dodgers on Thursday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Muncy already had a $14 million club option for the 2024 season, but the Dodgers will instead give him a new deal that keeps the 33-year-old slugger in Los Angeles through 2025 with a $10 million club option for 2026. Muncy slashed .212/.333/.475 across 482 plate appearances in 2023 while recording personal bests in home runs (36) and RBI (105).

Rivera is out of the lineup for Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday versus the Rangers.

Rivera started at third base in Game 4 on Tuesday but went 0-for-3 as the Diamondbacks fell 11-7. Evan Longoria will return to the hot corner Wednesday with the series on the line.

Longoria is starting at third base and batting eighth Wednesday in Game 5 of the World Series against the Rangers.

Emmanuel Rivera handled the hot corner in Game 4 on Tuesday, but the Diamondbacks will turn back to Longoria for Game 5 as they aim to avoid elimination. Longoria went 2-for-8 with an RBI and two runs scored over the first three games of the best-of-seven Fall Classic.

Rivera will start at third base and bat eighth Tuesday in Game 4 of the World Series against the Rangers.

This marks the first start of the Fall Classic for Rivera, who's gone 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored off the bench. He's filling in for the struggling Evan Longoria on Tuesday as the Diamondbacks look to even up the series.

Longoria is not in the lineup for Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday versus the Rangers.

Emmanuel Rivera will start at third base and bat eighth as Tommy Pham occupies the DH role and hits fifth. Longoria went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in the Diamondbacks' Game 3 loss Monday and is slashing just .156/.220/.200 through 51 total plate appearances this postseason.

Peterson was added to the Diamondbacks' World Series roster Friday.

Peterson was part of Arizona's roster for the Wild Card Round before being removed for the NLCS, but he's now back on the roster for the Fall Classic. Slade Cecconi -- who replaced Peterson on the NLCS roster -- has been removed. Evan Longoria is just 5-for-37 with 17 strikeouts this postseason, so it's possible Peterson sees some action at third base, at least against right-handed pitching.
