  • Dylan Moore LF | PHI

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Absent from lineup

Moore is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Toronto.

Moore is coming off a monster series against the Reds, having gone 7-for-12 with two home runs and two stolen bases. Despite that, he will begin the series opener versus the Blue Jays on the bench. Miles Mastrobuoni will start at second base and hit seventh for the Mariners.

  • Nick Sogard SS | BOS

Red Sox's Nick Sogard: Optioned to Triple-A

The Red Sox optioned Sogard to Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Sogard was with the Red Sox for just one game while Alex Bregman was on paternity leave and did not get off the bench. He'll return to a utility role at Worcester.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | CHC

Red Sox's Alex Bregman: Returns from paternity leave

The Red Sox activated Bregman from the paternity leave list Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Bregman missed just one game as he welcomed a new addition to the family. He will be back in uniform for Boston's weekend series at home against the White Sox.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Quiet start in 2025

Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in Thursday's loss to the Rangers.

Rengifo singled on a line drive to plate a pair of runs in the fifth inning Thursday and now has a hit in six of his past seven games. The veteran infielder entered the season with a .754 OPS across the previous three years, but he's struggled to get his bat going early in 2025. Through 66 at-bats (18 games), Rengifo is hitting .242 with one home run, five doubles, seven RBI and eight runs scored.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Power surge continues vs. Yankees

Caminero went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Yankees.

Caminero belted his fifth long ball of the young season in the third inning, pushing the Rays in front 3-1. The former top prospect has left the yard in four of his last six games, and he's slashing a promising .288/.324/.545 with two doubles, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored through his first 71 plate appearances of the campaign.

  • Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Smashes first homer Thursday

Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Rays.

Cabrera took Rays right-hander Taj Bradley deep in the fifth inning for the switch-hitter's first homer of the year. Although he's batting a strong .308 over 39 at-bats (13 games) to begin the season, Cabrera now has just one extra-base hit to go with zero stolen bases, so he doesn't carry much fantasy upside while regularly batting at the bottom of New York's lineup.

  • DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: May begin assignment soon

Manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that LeMahieu could begin a rehab assignment as soon as Tuesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

LeMahieu has been taking at-bats at the team's complex in Florida and appears to be trending toward returning to a competitive setting within the next week. His time in the minor leagues isn't expected to be brief, however, as the Yankees have said that the veteran infielder will require a lengthy buildup period after missing almost the entire Grapefruit League schedule.

  • Josh H. Smith SS | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Sitting third straight

Smith (thumb) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Thursday will mark the third straight game Smith has missed while he continues to nurse a bruised thumb. Dustin Harris will pick up another start in left field as a result, and the Rangers may consider placing Smith on the IL if he's unable to return to action soon.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Doing some light baserunning

Lewis (hamstring) will do some light baserunning Thursday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

While he won't be running full-bore, this appears to be the first time Lewis has run the bases since he suffered a strained left hamstring in mid-March. Lewis has also taken on-field batting practice and gone through defensive drills this week, so he is making clear progress. That said, it's uncertain when he will be ready for a rehab assignment, so a target for his return to the Twins' lineup remains up in the air.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

Athletics' Gio Urshela: Getting day off

Urshela is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Urshela will take a seat for the day game after he started at third base in each of the Athletics' previous three contests. Max Schuemann will fill in at the hot corner for Urshela, who is batting .196 with no home runs or stolen bases across 50 plate appearances on the season.
