Colts running back Robert Hughes had one catch (two targets) for 6 yards during a 34-28 win Week 5 vs. Seattle. Indianapolis is back in action Week 6 at San Diego.

Chiefs backup running back Knile Davis barely saw the field in a game starter Jamaal Charles set season highs with 22 carries for 108 yards Week 5 at Tennessee, carrying the ball just once for 2 yards. He had the exact same line against the Giants last week.

Davis will look to get more work in a game that could offer some garbage time Week 6 against the Raiders.

Another Colts game, another week where Trent Richardson struggles. Thanks in large part to a 16-yard run, his longest on the year, Richardson had 56 yards on 18 carries against the Seahawks. 

What's worse, the Colts left Donald Brown on the field in a goal-to-go situation from the 3 and he nailed it. That's a situation Richardson is built for.

For now it appears the Colts grossly overpaid for Richardson, who has averaged 3.6 yards per carry or worse in every game this season and all but five games so far in his career. But the Colts are 4-1 -- they're not going to put their run game under the microscope. Richardson was their guy for five of six runs to kill the clock toward the end of the game, converting a third down along the way (for 10 yards!). The Colts' brass won't view Richardson as a liability. 

Next week they're at San Diego and a Chargers defense that struggles to contain the run but has kept them out of the end zone through the first four weeks of the season. So this might not be a cupcake matchup for Richardson. You just might want to consider other options -- even if Richardson is promised 20 carries, his track record in rushing average doesn't leave much to cling to and he's not catching the ball with the Colts -- one catch through three games. 

Rams running back Isaiah Pead did not see any carries on Sunday during the win over Jacksonville Week 5. Zac Stacy got the start, Daryl Richardson contributed and even Benny Cunningham saw some touches with Pead getting shut out. 

Pead did see one target in the passing game, but did not come down with the catch. The 23-year-old RB has only played in three games this season. He is not expected to see many touches heading into Week 6 at Houston. 

Rams running back Benny Cunningham rushed four times for 13 yards as the third-string back Sunday during the Week 5 win over Jacksonville. 

Cunningham did not score in the game and was not targeted in the passing game, either. He has yet to score this year and the 13 yards were his second-best effort to date on the season. The Rams play at Houston Week 6. 

Colts running back Donald Brown, who was filling in for the injured Ahmad Bradshaw (neck), had his first rushing touchdown since the 2012 opener in a 34-28 win Week 5 vs. Seattle. Brown rushed for 37 yards on six carries, trailing Trent Richardson's team-high 56 rushing yards on 18 carries.

Brown's 12th career rushing touchdown came on a 3-yard score with 8:55 left that put Indianapolis ahead for good. Brown, who averaged 6.2 yards per carry, added two catches for 3 yards.

Brown has totaled 102 rushing yards and averaged 11.3 yards per carry in his last two games. The Colts are back in action Week 6 at San Diego.

Rams running back Daryl Richardson clearly took a back seat to Zac Stacy in Sunday's Week 5 win at home over the Jaguars. In the end, Richardson only saw one fewer carry than Stacy, but finished with 30 fewer rushing yards. 

Although Stacy left the game late with a ribs injury, he still managed 14 carries for 78 yards. Richardson finished with 13 touches of the football on the ground for 48 yards and did not score. He had a long carry of 13 yards. 

Richardson was targeted in the passing game once and did not make a catch. He has yet to score this season and has struggled for the most part. It appears that Stacy, if healthy, will be the lead back heading into Week 6 at Houston. 

Colts running back Trent Richardson was held without a rushing touchdown Week 5 vs. Seattle for the first time in three games since joining the Indianapolis lineup. Richardson finished with a team-high 56 rushing yards on 18 carries (3.1 yards per carry) and no catches in a 34-28 win.

Richardson, who didn't flash much burst when running, had his longest carry go for 16 yards. The Colts could have extended Richardson's rushing touchdown streak Sunday, but instead turned to Donald Brown for a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Though, Richardson did make progress Sunday, as the 3.1 yards per carry was his highest average since joining the Colts. Indianapolis is back in action Week 6 at San Diego.

A week after picking up 21 yards on 15 carries against the Jets, Titans running back Chris Johnson had another miserable rushing performance against another tough defense Week 5 agianst the Chiefs, picking up 17 yards on 10 carries to lower his season rushing average to 3.1 yards per carry.

He did, however, come through with his first touchdown of the season on a play that wasn't even designed for him. On the verge of taking a sack, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick underhanded the ball to him while falling forward early in the third quarter and, reading his blockers, Johnson ended up going 49 yards for the score. He finshed with 63 yards on four catches, though obviously, most came on that one play.

Johnson rushed for 90 yards in back-to-back games earlier this season but clearly wasn't the Titans' most effective rusher in this one. Fitzpatrick actually led the team with 50 yards on six carries. Jackie Battle ranked second with 38 yards on six carries.

Johnson will attempt to get back on track in Week 6 despite another tough matchup at Seattle.

Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas' role in the offense continued to shrink in Week 5, in a 26-23 loss to the Ravens.

Thomas ran the ball just two times for 1 yard in the game, both of which are season-lows. He did bring in a pair of catches for 11 yards, his first multi-catch game of the season.

Thomas has seen his role practically disappear thanks to his slow start, and he might not have a bigger one waiting for him after the team's Week 6 bye.
