Top Eagles News

  • Eagles' Ja'Quinden Jackson: Reverts to Philly's IR

Jackson (undisclosed) reverted from waivers to Philadelphia's injured reserve list Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Jackson was not claimed by another squad after the Eagles waived him with an injury designation Monday, and he now could spend the whole 2026 campaign on IR. Jackson left Saturday's preseason game at New England in an ambulance, but his CT scans came back negative.

  • Eagles' Markel Bell: Misses practice Monday

Bell (thumb) sat out of practice Monday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.

The offensive tackle is dealing with both thumb and leg issues, per Kubena. Bell put together a strong preseason performance against New England on Saturday and is considered a lock to make the Eagles' roster. As long as his injuries are minor, his status as the backup right tackle to Lane Johnson shouldn't change.

  • Eagles' Jordan Mims: Catches on with Philadelphia

The Eagles signed Mims to a contract Monday.

Mims will join the Eagles for the final week of training camp after being waived by the Vikings on Aug. 12. He's unlikely to make the 53-man roster by the end of training camp, but a strong week of practice and a nice performance in Friday's preseason finale against the Bengals could be enough to convince the Eagles' coaching staff to keep Mims around on the practice squad.

  • Eagles' Elijah Moore: Returns to practice Monday

Moore (neck) suited up for Monday's training camp practice, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Moore sustained a neck injury during Wednesday's joint practice against the Patriots, which prevented him from playing in Saturday's preseason contest against New England. His return to on-field action Monday is a positive sign in his recovery and puts the 2021 second-rounder on track to play against the Bengals in Friday's preseason finale. Moore is competing against Darius Cooper, Britain Covey (hamstring) and Quez Watkins for a depth spot on the Eagles' 53-man roster for the regular season.

  • Eagles' Dameon Pierce: Back at practice Monday

Pierce (hamstring) participated in Monday's training camp practice, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.

Pierce has been held out of practice the last two weeks after picking up a hamstring injury. He's progressed enough in his recovery to return to on-field work, putting him on track to play in Friday's preseason finale against the Bengals. Pierce, Will Shipley and Carson Steele are battling for a depth spot in the Eagles' backfield, with Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby currently listed as the top running backs on the depth chart.

  • Eagles' Dontayvion Wicks: Makes positive impression in joint practices

Wicks stood out with his route running during the Eagles' joint practices with the Patriots last Wednesday and Thursday, Cayden Steele of NJ.com reports.

Though he was generally impressive in both practices, Wicks turned in one highlight-reel-worthy rep during Thursday's session, when he easily shook 1-on-1 coverage from New England cornerback Carlton Davis at the line of scrimmage for what would have been a big gain, per Henry McKenna of FoxSports.com. Acquired from the Packers in April and immediately signed to a one-year, $12.5 million extension, Wicks has been repping with the first-team offense for most of his first camp with the Eagles while No. 1 wideout DeVonta Smith and rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon have been slowed by hamstring injuries. Both Smith and Lemon are practicing again, but the time Lemon has missed along with his own strong performance could set the stage for Wicks to head into the regular season as the Eagles' No. 2 wideout.

  • Eagles' Eli Stowers: Dealing with hamstring issue

Stowers (hamstring) won't practice Monday, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.

Per Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Stowers appeared to get banged up during Saturday's preseason game against the Patriots. The tight end thus falls into the day-to-day category as Friday's preseason finale against the Bengals approaches. Once healthy, the 2026 second-rounder is poised to work behind top TE Dallas Goedert, a role that may not initially involve steady volume for the rookie, but one that could grow in the event that Goedert misses any time this season.

  • Eagles' Makai Lemon: Practices in full Monday

Lemon (hamstring) was a full participant in Monday's practice, EJ Smith of The PHLY Sports reports.

The rookie has been hampered by a hamstring issue for much of camp but is starting to get on track as the season approaches. Lemon practiced in a limited fashion last week and has upgraded to full participation as of Monday. The rookie still has to play catch-up a bit with the lost time during camp, but a fully healthy remainder of the offseason will put Lemon in a good spot come Week 1.

  • Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Full participant Monday

Smith (hamstring) is a full participant in Monday's practice, EJ Smith of PHLY Sports reports.

The Eagles got some good news in their receiving corps with both Smith and Makai Lemon (hamstring) full go for Monday's session. Smith returned in a limited capacity last week and is now ramping up further as the season approaches.

  • Eagles' Ja'Quinden Jackson: Discharged from hospital

Jackson (undisclosed) was discharged from a local New England hospital and joined his Eagles teammates for their return trip to Philadelphia following Saturday's 24-21 loss, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.

Jackson suffered a serious injury on the opening kickoff after his head appeared to collide with Lan Larison's leg. Jackson left the field in an ambulance before being taken to a local hospital, where CT scans came back negative. It's the best-case scenario for the Arkansas product, but given what transpired Saturday, it seems unlikely that Jackson will play in Friday's preseason finale against Cincinnati.

  • Eagles' Jake Elliott: Perfect on trio of PATs

Elliott connected on all three of his extra-point tries and did not attempt any field goals in the Eagles' 24-21 preseason loss to the Patriots on Saturday.

The veteran kicker got some work in ahead of the regular season in Saturday's close loss. Elliott doesn't have any training camp competition despite the fact he's coming off back-to-back seasons with sub-80.0 percent success rates on field goals. Through two preseason games, Elliott has yet to attempt a field goal and has been perfect on his four PATs.

  • Eagles' Eli Stowers: Blanked on two targets

Stowers failed to bring in either of his two targets in the Eagles' 24-21 preseason loss to the Patriots on Saturday.

Stowers was on the field with the starting offense and saw his first target from Andy Dalton on third down during the Eagles' opening possession. The rookie second-round pick was blanked on the night Saturday, but he made three receptions in the exhibition opener against the Ravens and remains second on the unofficial tight-end depth chart behind Dallas Goedert heading into the preseason finale at home against the Bengals on Friday night.

  • Eagles' Ja'Quinden Jackson: Carted off field Saturday

Jackson (undisclosed) was carted off the field during the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Patriots, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Jackson sustained the injury while making a tackle on the game's opening kickoff. He was carted off the field and has since been transported to a local hospital. The good news for the Arkansas product is that he demonstrated strength and movement in all extremities.

  • Eagles' Makai Lemon: Not playing Saturday

Lemon (hamstring) won't play in Saturday's preseason game at New England, Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Lemon has been dealing with a hamstring injury since at least Aug. 3, but he was listed as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday in advance of this preseason Week 2 matchup. With no game action to speak of yet during exhibition season, the rookie first-round pick seems like a candidate to play this coming Friday at Cincinnati if he progresses enough in his recovery.
