  • Bears' Kalif Raymond: Drawing strong praise in camp

Raymond has made a strong impression in his first five months with Chicago, with Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic relaying coach Ben Johnson's praise Monday and calling him "the most selfless player I've ever been around."

With Raymond joining the Bears on a one-year deal earlier in the offseason, Johnson's comments highlight the veteran wide receiver's standing in the building with Week 1 approaching. The praise suggests Raymond is making a positive case for a supporting receiver role and special-teams work.

  • Bears' Cairo Santos: One misfire in preseason loss

Santos connected on field-goal attempts of 45, 26 and 44 yards and missed wide right from 53 yards in the Bears' 27-9 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday.

The veteran kicker's one miss is somewhat excusable given the distance, as well as his accuracy on the three attempts that preceded it. The veteran, who's now 5-for-7 on field goals and 4-for-4 on PATs through two preseason games, is set to serve as the Bears' placekicker for the seventh straight season following a 2025 campaign in which he connected on 83.3 percent of his 30 field-goal attempts and all 39 of his point-after tries across 15 regular-season games.

  • Bears' Sam Roush: Pair of grabs in preseason loss

Roush brought in two of three targets for 30 yards in the Bears' 27-9 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday.

The rookie third-round pick came into the game following Colston Loveland and recorded his first catch, a 26-yard grab on first down, late in the first quarter on a pass from Case Keenum. Roush appears slated to open the regular season No. 3 on the tight-end depth chart behind Loveland and Cole Kmet, but given the pass-catching proficiency he displayed in his last three college seasons, the first-year talent could progressively carve out a solid complementary role.

  • Bears' Rome Odunze: Big gain on one catch Saturday

Odunze brought in one of two targets for 18 yards in the Bears' 27-9 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday.

Odunze wasted no time making an impact, hauling in an 18-yard pass on the Bears' second play from scrimmage. The third-year wideout was targeted once more without success. Odunze is firmly on track for the highest volume of his still nascent career now that DJ Moore is in Buffalo. Projected No. 2 receiver Luther Burden also remains sidelined with a groin injury and is uncertain for Week 1, so Odunze is almost certainly not seeing the field again until a Week 1 road matchup against the Panthers on Sunday, Sept. 13.

  • Bears' Colston Loveland: Makes first-down catch in preseason debut

Loveland brought in one of three targets for 10 yards in the Bears' 27-9 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday.

The second-year tight end was the subject of plenty of Caleb Williams' attention on the Bears' opening possession, but Loveland was able to corral only one of the three passes that went his way. Nevertheless, the target volume relative to playing time was an encouraging sign for Loveland's outlook heading into the regular season, when he'll look to build on the 58-713-6 line on 82 targets he compiled across 16 regular-season games during his 2025 rookie campaign.

  • Bears' Caleb Williams: Plays one series Saturday

Williams completed two of five passes for 28 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Bears' 27-9 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday.

The third-year signal-caller made his preseason debut and got his night started with back-to-back completions to Rome Odunze and Roschon Johnson, although the Bears accepted an illegal contact penalty that wiped out the latter play. Williams subsequently hit Colston Loveland for 10 yards during a possession that culminated in a Cairo Santos field goal following three straight incompletions. The uneven cameo appearance may well represent the extent of Williams' preseason action ahead of a Week 1 road matchup against the Panthers on Sunday, Sept. 13.

  • Bears' Caleb Williams: Could play Saturday

Williams is in uniform in advance of Saturday's preseason game in Cincinnati, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.

After sitting out Chicago's exhibition opener, Williams now appears set to make his preseason debut. His participation is notable for the Bears' first-team offense, especially with WRs Rome Odunze and Kalif Raymond and TEs Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet also suited up.

  • Bears' Tyrique Stevenson: Practices Thursday

Stevenson (undisclosed) returned to practice Thursday following a week-long absence, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The cornerback has been dealing with the injury since exiting practice Aug. 11. In his return Thursday, Stevenson was able to take limited reps against the Bengals' receivers during a joint session. Stevenson is a projected starter at cornerback across from Jaylon Johnson.

  • Bears' Tyson Bagent: Considered week-to-week

Bagent is still dealing with a hamstring injury and did not join the team on its trip to Cincinnati for a preseason game this Saturday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Bears coach Ben Johnson referred to Bagent as "week-to-week," per Cronin. The backup quarterback suffered the injury during Saturday's preseason win over Cleveland. Case Keenum and Miller Moss should see most of the action at quarterback against the Bengals with Bagent away from the team, though it's unclear if starter Caleb Williams will play.
