  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Agrees to new contract with Saints

Kamara and New Orleans agreed to terms Thursday on a restructured contract that gives him a $6 million base salary for the 2026 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Kamara's revised deal can be worth up to $8.5 million in incentives, setting him up to play out his age-31 season, and potentially end his career, with the Saints. It remains to be seen how much volume will be attributed to Kamara behind new top running back Travis Etienne, who signed a four-year, $52 million deal with the team earlier this offseason, but the 10-year veteran's versatility and pass-catching ability will boost his chances of retaining fantasy relevance in PPR formats. Devin Neal (undisclosed), Kendre Miller (ACL), Ty Chandler and Audric Estime are all also competing for depth opportunities in New Orleans' backfield.

  • Saints' Jordyn Tyson: On track for camp?

Saints quarterback Tyler Shough said in June that Tyson (undisclosed) should be "firing on all cylinders" later this summer, ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell reports.

A hamstring injury ended Tyson's 2025 campaign at Arizona State and kept him out of pre-draft drills, but Saints coach Kellen Moore suggested in May that the rookie's absence from early OTA periods wasn't necessarily related to his prior hamstring injury. Whatever the case, Tyson increased his involvement in late May and June, though there was never any report of participation in full-team drills. It sounds like Shough expects Tyson to be ready for training camp, where the Saints also anticipate getting Chris Olave (blood clot) back in action. There is some chance Tyson and/or Olave will be limited at the start of camp in late July.

  • Saints' Travis Etienne: Will share backfield with Kamara

Etienne's teammate, Alvin Kamara, has reportedly agreed to remain with the Saints this season on a reworked contract, Arye Pulli of USA Today reports.

There had been speculation Kamara could be on the move this offseason, but his amended deal paves the way for him to work in tandem with Etienne, who inked a four-year, $52 million deal with the Saints in March. Etienne -- who ran for 1,107 yards on 260 carries in 17 regular-season games with the Jaguars last season -- is poised to handle a significant portion of his new team's rushing workload in 2026, while Kamara, a versatile back with strong receiving skills, is available to see his share of touches as well.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Finalizing new deal with Saints

Kamara and New Orleans are finalizing terms on a new contract, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Kamara is closing in on a new deal that will allow him to remain with the Saints, presumably by lowering the $10.4 million cap hit his current contract carries for the 2026 campaign. The soon-to-be 31-year-old has spent his entire NFL career to date in New Orleans and remains a versatile playmaker capable of contributing in a complementary role behind new starting running back Travis Etienne. Across 11 regular-season appearances in 2025, Kamara rushed 131 times for 471 yards and one score and secured 33 of 39 targets for 186 yards.

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Heads reloaded TE room

Johnson remains the Saints' top tight end after New Orleans added Noah Fant in free agency and selected Oscar Delp in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, Luke Johnson of NOLA.com reports.

Johnson restructured his deal with the Saints in March to free up cap space and is coming off a career year, but the team's offseason investments at tight end gives him more competition for targets. Fant represents another proven receiving option, while Delp's athleticism could make him an upgrade over departees Jack Stoll and Foster Moreau. New Orleans also added a first-round wideout in rookie Jordyn Tyson (undisclosed), further muddying the target share picture. While Johnson's role in the passing game is secure, matching last year's volume of a career-high 103 targets and 77 receptions will likely be a tough ask.

  • Saints' Charlie Smyth: To face competition during camp

Smythe will enter training camp positioned to compete with Tanner Brown for the No. 1 kicker job, Luke Loffredo of USA Today reports.

Smythe started New Orleans' final six games of the 2025 season, going 12-for-16 on field-goal tries and making all 13 of his extra-point attempts. He first joined the Saints back in 2024 as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway. During training camp and the preseason Smythe will work to outperform Brown, who has spent time on various practice squads in the league (most recently the Rams and Falcons in 2024) but has yet to log a regular-season appearance.

  • Saints' Derek Carr: Draws interest from multiple clubs

Carr has been contacted by "multiple" NFL teams about a potential comeback, but he's unlikely to come out of retirement, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Carr shared on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" on Friday that he hasn't completely shut the door on a return to the league, but he also hinted that such a return is unlikely. "If I were to do it, it'd have to be a special team that maybe lost somebody or needed somebody. Even then, it's not guaranteed. I'm having too much fun hanging out with my wife, hanging out with my kids and trying to get good at golf. It would take a special deal, but I'm always training. I got to. I got four boys that can't beat me up when they're 18, so I got to keep training. I'll be in shape and ready, but probably not. I'll probably be just coaching my kids, that's for sure," the former Raiders and Saints QB stated. It sounds like fantasy managers shouldn't count on Carr being a quarterback option at any point in 2026, though the 35-year-old did comment, "I'll never say never."
