  • Rams' Davante Adams: Logs no preseason action

Adams didn't suit up for any of the Rams' three-game preseason schedule.

After logging at least 1,000 receiving yards six times in seven seasons between 2018 and 2024, Adams put together just 789 such yards in his age-33 campaign last year over 14 regular-season games, though he did miss three contest due to a hamstring injury. He salvaged his season with an NFL-leading 14 touchdown catches, displaying an incredible rapport with QB Matthew Stafford. With the Rams' top WR, Puka Nacua, still tending to psoas soreness a week before the team's Week 1 matchup with the 49ers next Thursday, Sept. 10, Adams effectively could be Stafford's No. 1 target out of the gate if Nacua isn't 100 percent.

  • Rams' Blake Corum: Sits out preseason in advance of Year 3

Corum was rested for all three of the Rams' preseason contests.

Though Kyren Williams remains listed as the top running back on the Rams' unofficial depth chart, head coach Sean McVay's decision to hold out Corum throughout the preseason along with many of the team's key players suggests that the 24-year-old is essentially being treated as a co-starter heading into his third NFL season. After seeing limited action as a rookie in 2024, Corum doubled up his snap count in Year 2, finishing the regular season with 746 yards and six touchdowns on 145 carries while chipping in eight receptions for 36 yards on 14 targets over 17 games. While Williams remains the better bet to lead the Los Angeles backfield in carries in 2026, Corum could be primed to take on at least a slightly larger share of the workload after he was highly efficient with his opportunities a season ago.

  • Rams' Aaron Donald: May not debut until Week 2 or 3

Donald is more likely to debut in Week 2 or Week 3 rather than Week 1, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com on NFL Live.

Donald just rejoined the Rams on Sunday, and the team could give him some time to ramp up before tossing him into the mix. Even if Donald does wind up sitting up the opener -- which will be played in nine days against the 49ers in Australia -- that will not have much of an effect on the long-term outlook for the loaded Rams defense.

  • Rams' Kyren Williams: Expected to be part of RB timeshare

The Athletic's Nate Atkins believes the Rams will continue to use a backfield timeshare with Williams and Blake Corum this season.

Neither Williams nor Corum saw any action this preseason, as the Rams are notorious for resting their starters every summer, so it was difficult to get a clear picture of the backfield situation outside of practice. By all accounts, the Rams want to up Corum's usage after he saw double-digit touches once in the first six games of 2025, but seven times in the subsequent 11 regular-season contests. Working in Williams' favor, however, is coach Sean McVay's preference to use him near the goal line and on passing downs. Even with the talk of Corum getting more work, Williams appears to have a strong fantasy floor in one of the NFL's most potent offenses.

  • Rams' Matthew Stafford: Doesn't see any preseason action

Stafford once again didn't play any offensive snaps during the preseason.

Stafford hasn't taken a preseason snap since the summer of 2019, but the difference this year from last is that he's healthy. While he dealt with back issues last summer, he's been a full participant in training camp this time around. Despite the back trouble, Stafford still started all 17 regular-season games in 2025 and led the league with 4,707 passing yards, 46 touchdowns and a 7.7 percent touchdown rate en route to winning the MVP Award. He finished as fantasy's overall QB3 but is being drafted on average as the QB12 this year.
