Dolphins' Coleman Bennett: Signs with Miami
The Dolphins signed Bennett to a contract Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Bennett was waived by the Bears on Aug. 17 and cleared waivers. The running back now joins the Dolphins as a preseason substitute for the injured Ollie Gordon (ribs). Bennett will likely see snaps in Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons, but may not last much longer than that on the roster.

Dolphins' Jordyn Brooks: Back in action
Brooks (undisclosed) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Brooks is set to miss Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons but is all ready to go for Week 1 against the Raiders. The starting middle linebacker seems to have worked past his unknown injury and is being kept out for precautionary reasons.

Dolphins' Kenneth Grant: Week-to-week with leg injury
Grant (leg) could miss the Dolphins' opening game against the Raiders, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reported Wednesday.
Grant is currently labeled as week-to-week by coach Jeff Hafley. The 2025 first-rounder suffered the leg injury in mid-August. While Grant may not be able to start Week 1, fellow defensive tackle Zach Sieler (undisclosed) should be good to go. If Grant cannot play, Jordan Phillips will likely start next to Sieler against the Raiders.

Dolphins' Clelin Ferrell: Practices Tuesday
Ferrell (undisclosed) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Ferrell suffered an injury in early August that was set to sideline him for multiple weeks. The veteran defensive end has returned to full participation slightly over two weeks after the injury occurred. The 29-year-old will likely play in Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons.

Dolphins' JuJu Brents: Back in action
Brents (undisclosed) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice. C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Brents suffered an injury in early August and returned to practice in a limited capacity last Tuesday. The cornerback is officially all set to go and could see some snaps during Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons if the Dolphins would like him to see some game-day reps before the regular season commences.

Dolphins' Ryan Miller: Claimed by Miami
The Dolphins claimed Miller off waivers from the Giants on Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Miller was competing for a roster spot with the Giants but was waved on Monday. The 26-year-old now has a chance to compete in a wide-open corps, with Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons likely holding a lot of sway over the final decisions for cut-down day.

Dolphins' Chris Bell: Candidate to play in preseason finale
Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said that he's tentatively planning on having Bell (knee) play in Friday's preseason finale versus the Falcons, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
After completing his recovery from December surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, Bell was reinstated from the NFI list Aug. 17 and returned to practice as a limited participant. The Dolphins were comfortable clearing him for full participation Monday, and Bell seems to have bounced back well from that practice session. Even if the rookie wideout ends up not getting cleared for the Falcons game, he looks like he'll be on track to have a role in Week 1 versus the Raiders.

Dolphins' Quinn Ewers: Back at practice
Ewers (groin) returned to practice with the Dolphins on Monday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ewers was able to make his return to the practice field after missing over a week with a groin injury that he suffered in the team's preseason opener against the Commanders on Aug. 15. The 23-year-old is considered the favorite to serve as the primary backup to Malik Willis this season, and he'll now have the chance to solidify his hold on the No. 2 role by playing in Friday's preseason finale versus Atlanta.

Dolphins' Ethan Conner: Headed to Miami
Conner and the Dolphins agreed on a contract Monday.
Conner was waived by the Jaguars on Aug. 17, but he has now found a new home with the Dolphins ahead of the team's final preseason contest Friday against the Falcons. The undrafted free agent will likely be competing for a practice-squad spot with Miami in 2026.

Dolphins' Chris Bell: Set to practice without limitations
Bell (knee) is expected to be a full participant in Monday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
After being activated from the active/non-football injury list last Monday, Bell was a limited participant in his first handful of practices with Miami. With his surgically repaired left knee apparently responding well, Bell now will ditch his red no-contact jersey in what marks the final box he'll need to check before being cleared for game action. The Dolphins still could elect to hold out Bell for their preseason finale Friday versus the Falcons, but the rookie third-round pick looks to be trending toward suiting up Week 1 versus the Raiders.

Dolphins' Ronnie Harrison: Nursing hamstring injury
Harrison is unlikely to play in the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Falcons on Friday due to a hamstring injury, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Harrison likely picked up the injury during the Dolphins' 26-3 preseason loss to the Giants on Saturday. He's battling for a depth spot on the 53-man roster, and his hamstring injury puts him in jeopardy of being cut by the Dolphins at the end of training camp.

Dolphins' Quinn Ewers: Hopeful to return this week
Head coach Jeff Hafley said Sunday that he's "hopeful" that Ewers (groin) will return to practice this week, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ewers sustained a groin injury during the Dolphins' preseason opener against the Commanders, and the injury prevented him from playing in Saturday's 26-3 loss to the Giants. A return to practice this week is crucial for the 2025 seventh-rounder, as it would put him on track to play in Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons. Ewers is currently leading the backup quarterback competition against Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski.

Dolphins' Ollie Gordon: Nursing rib injury
Gordon injured his ribs during the Dolphins' 26-3 preseason loss to the Giants on Saturday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
The injury is a minor one, as head coach Jeff Hafley relayed Sunday that Gordon would have been cleared to return had it been a regular-season game. Gordon's practice participation over the coming days will be worth monitoring, as it will indicate whether the 2025 sixth-rounder will play in Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons. He is competing against Jaylen Wright for the RB2 role behind De'Von Achane.

Dolphins' Trey Moore: Dealing with ankle injury
Moore sustained an ankle injury during the Dolphins' 26-3 preseason loss to the Giants on Saturday, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Moore sustained the injury early in the first quarter while in pass coverage, which prompted his removal from Saturday's exhibition contest. Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley told reporters Sunday that Moore will "miss some time" due to his ankle injury. While a firm timeline wasn't provided, it seems like the rookie fourth-rounder will not play in Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons, with the hope that he'll be available for Week 1 against the Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Dolphins' Chris Bell: Nearing return to full practice
Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said Saturday that Bell (knee) is "close" to being cleared to fully participate in practice, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Bell hasn't played in either of the Dolphins' first two preseason games, but he's been steadily increasing his practice activity since being reinstated from the non-football injury list Monday. He's in the final stages of his recovery from surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, a procedure he underwent in December. The rookie third-round pick could have an outside chance of being available for the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Falcons on Friday if he's able to get in a couple of full practices beforehand.
