Jackson Holliday SS | BAL
Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Not ready for activation this week
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said Monday that he doesn't anticipate Holliday (hand) being activated from the 10-day injured list this week, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Working his way back from a surgery to remove the fractured hook of the hamate bone in his right hand, Holliday is slashing only .167/.239/.214 with a 3:12 BB:K over his first 11 rehab games at Triple-A Norfolk. He's eligible to return at any time, but the Orioles seemingly want to see Holliday get into a groove at the plate before they add him back to the active roster. Jeremiah Jackson has been seeing the bulk of the playing time at second base lately for Baltimore.

Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Returns to St. Louis lineup
Winn (shin) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Monday's game versus the Guardians.
Winn missed each of the previous two contests with a bruised shin, but he's made enough improvement to step back into the lineup for Monday's series opener. The slick-fielding shortstop has yet to get on track offensively this season, having registered a .154/.298/.205 batting line with no home runs, two steals and a 6:8 BB:K.

Parker Meadows CF | DET
Tigers' Parker Meadows: Moved to 60-day IL
The Tigers transferred Meadows (arm/concussion) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.
The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Yoniel Curet. Meadows suffered a fractured left arm and a concussion as a result of a collision in the outfield with teammate Riley Greene last week and won't be eligible to return until June 9.

Yoniel Curet SP | PHI
Tigers' Yoniel Curet: Poached by Detroit
The Tigers claimed Curet off waivers from the Phillies on Monday.
Curet has yet to make an appearance at any level this season, though he's not believed to be dealing with any sort of injury. The Tigers have assigned the hard-throwing righty to their rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, so they will have their coaching staff take a look at Curet before deciding how best to deploy him. Curet is expected to eventually settle at Triple-A Toledo or Double-A Erie.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Angels' Oswald Peraza: Retreating to bench Monday
Peraza is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Peraza manned the keystone for 11 of the Angels' first 13 games, but he's been out of the picture since Vaughn Grissom came off the injured list Saturday. Grissom made a pair of starts against left-handed pitchers over the weekend, while Adam Frazier is at second base Monday against right-hander Will Warren. Peraza occupied third base in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Reds and came through with solo home run, but he's slashing an unremarkable .214/.267/.405 over 46 plate appearances on the season.

Jared Shuster RP | STL
Cardinals' Jared Shuster: Scrubbed from 40-man roster
The Cardinals designated Shuster for assignment Monday.
Shuster made a couple mop-up appearances for St. Louis, allowing two runs with a 1:2 K:BB over 3.2 innings. The lefty has been outrighted previously, so if he passes through waivers -- which seems likely -- Shuster would have the ability to elect free agency.
-
Ryan Fernandez RP | STL
Cardinals' Ryan Fernandez: Joins major-league bullpen
The Cardinals recalled Fernandez from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Fernandez has tossed 5.2 scoreless frames with a 6:2 K:BB in the early going at Memphis. The righty reliever battled through a disastrous 2025 season in St. Louis -- holding a 7.71 ERA over 32 outings -- and will be used in low-leverage situations with the Cardinals.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Pirates' Marcell Ozuna: Sliding back to bench Monday
Ozuna is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
After a recent two-game benching, Ozuna returned to the starting nine for all three contests of the Pirates' series versus the Cubs over the weekend but went just 1-for-12 with a walk and four strikeouts. Now sitting on a lowly .070/.167/.070 slash line over 48 plate appearances on the season, Ozuna could be in line for a part-time role at designated hitter until he turns a corner at the dish.

Ben Rice 1B | NYY
Yankees' Ben Rice: Taking seat versus lefty
Rice is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
Lefty Yusei Kikuchi is on the bump for the Halos in Monday's series opener, marking the third time in four contests versus southpaws this season that the lefty-swinging Rice has been absent from the lineup. Paul Goldschmidt will hold down first base and bat leadoff for the Yankees.

Leody Taveras CF | BAL
Orioles' Leody Taveras: Taking hold of center-field duties
Taveras will start in center field and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
With all of Adley Rutschman (ankle), Ryan Mountcastle (foot) and Tyler O'Neill (concussion) having went down with injuries over the weekend, Taveras appears to have gained a foothold in the Orioles' everyday lineup. Taveras has historically provided most of his value with his defense and speed, but he's held his own at the plate over his previous three starts, going 4-for-12 with a pair of doubles, two runs and an RBI during that stretch. He could be in line for regular reps in the Baltimore outfield until the team reclaims some health.
