  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Racks up seven Ks in rehab start

Henderson (back) struck out seven and allowed one hit and one walk over three scoreless innings Sunday in a rehab start with Triple-A Nashville.

Making his first appearance in a game setting since May 22, Henderson was about as sharp as the Brewers could have hoped. He compiled 10 whiffs on his 50 pitches (32 strikes), working into the fourth inning while averaging 92.9 mph with his four-seam fastball. Henderson will likely need to get stretched out to the 65-to-75-pitch range before coming off the 15-day injured list, so he'll presumably make at least one more start in the minors. The right-hander looks like he could have a shot at returning to the Milwaukee rotation during the final week before the All-Star break.

  • Braves' AJ Smith-Shawver: Making first rehab start Tuesday

Smith-Shawver (elbow) is slated to make the first start of his rehab assignment Tuesday with Single-A Augusta, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

After completing a series of bullpen sessions and live batting practice sessions as he works his way back from June 2025 Tommy John surgery, Smith-Shawver threw a two-inning simulated game at Atlanta's spring training facility in Florida as a final step before embarking on a rehab assignment. He'll likely build on that two-inning workload during Tuesday's outing and will presumably need at least three or four more rehab starts beyond that before Atlanta brings him back from the 60-day injured list. Smith-Shawver still has a minor-league option remaining, but if his velocity and command looks good during his rehab assignment, Atlanta may have room for him in the big-league rotation. Before undergoing elbow surgery last summer, Smith-Shawver posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 42:21 K:BB In 44.1 innings over nine starts with Atlanta.

  • Janson Junk SP | MIA

Marlins' Janson Junk: Fine after exiting rehab start

Junk (shin) allowed one run over 2.2 innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday before exiting after being struck on the left wrist by a comebacker, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

X-rays came back clean, and Junk will make his next scheduled rehab start. Working his way back from right shin bone inflammation, Junk threw 42 pitches Sunday and could require at least a couple more rehab outings before the Marlins decide whether to reinsert him into their rotation. The right-hander collected a 4.80 ERA and 43:13 K:BB over 60 frames covering 11 starts before getting hurt.

  • Alfredo Duno C | CIN

Reds' Alfredo Duno: Moving up to Double-A

Duno was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga on Sunday.

Duno will make the leap to the Double-A level after producing a .250 batting average with 16 home runs, 47 RBI, 46 runs scored and two stolen bases over 242 at-bats in 65 contests with High-A Dayton so far this season. The 20-year-old is considered to the the Reds' top overall prospect, and he could be on track to make his major-league debut during the 2027 campaign.

  • Tyler Callihan RF | PIT

Pirates' Tyler Callihan: Smacks three-run homer

Callihan went 2-for-4 with a walk and a three-run homer Sunday against the Reds.

Callihan got the Pirates off to a fast offensive start with a three-run homer in the second inning. That marked his first long ball since June 10, spanning a 14-game stretch during which he had hit .211 with three RBI and four runs scored. Despite the strong showing Sunday, Callihan could be on the outside looking in for playing time due to the return of Konnor Griffin and the emergence of Esmerlyn Valdez.

  • Pirates' Esmerlyn Valdez: Keeps showing off power

Valdez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Reds.

Valdez checked into the lineup for the third time in Pittsburgh's last four games and continues to make a case for consistent playing time. He began his day with an RBI double in the second inning and then blasted a solo home run in the eighth inning following a lengthy rain delay. Valdez now has a home run in each of his last three appearances and has five long balls across 44 plate appearances to begin his big-league career.

  • TJ Rumfield 1B | COL

Rockies' TJ Rumfield: Piling up hits in June

Rumfield went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Twins.

Rumfield recorded a pair of infield hits to scrape together another productive performance. He has five consecutive two-hit games and is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak -- five of which have come on the road -- during which he's gone 26-for-66 (.393) with five homers, 16 RBI and 10 runs scored. Rumfield continues to piece together an impressive rookie campaign, hitting .294 with a .377 wOBA across 328 plate appearances.

  • Bryan Torres LF | STL

Cardinals' Bryan Torres: Blasts homer in win

Torres went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.

Torres was the offensive difference-maker, as his two-run homer in the second inning was all the scoring the Cardinals needed to avoid the series sweep. The 28-year-old is hitting .234/.308/.468 with three homers, seven RBI, seven runs and a stolen base across 53 plate appearances this season. With the St. Louis outfield back to full health, Torres has primarily been relegated to a reserve role since June 11.

  • Riley O'Brien RP | STL

Cardinals' Riley O'Brien: Secures 20th save

O'Brien picked up the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over Miami. He allowed no hits or walks with a strikeout over one inning.

O'Brien had no issue finishing off the Marlins in the ninth inning, retiring the side in order on 15 pitches (10 strikes) to secure his 20th save. The right-hander has been lights out in save situations this month, converting all six of his opportunities without allowing a run across six innings, though he was tagged for six runs over three innings in non-save appearances during June. Among National League relievers, only Jhoan Duran and Mason Miller (21) have more saves than O'Brien, who owns a 3.93 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB across 34.1 innings this season.

  • Tyler Phillips RP | MIA

Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Saddled with third loss

Phillips (1-3) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks over 7.1 innings against the Cardinals. He struck out one.

Phillips logged his longest outing of the year, with the only damage coming on a Bryan Torres two-run homer in the second inning, but a lack of run support saddled the right-hander with the loss. Despite working deep into Sunday's contest, Phillips didn't generate many swings and misses, recording his fewest strikeouts in a start this season, though he also didn't issue a walk for the first time as a starter. The 28-year-old will take a 3.02 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 50:30 K:BB across 65.2 innings and 22 appearances (six starts) into his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Friday on the road against the Athletics.
