  • Giants' Heliot Ramos: Explodes for five RBI in victory

Ramos went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a triple, three total runs and five total RBI in a 10-1 win against the Blue Jays on Monday. Ramos batted leadoff for the second time in San Francisco's past three games and set the tone for a big day by his team's offense. He led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple that became a run when Andres Gimenez threw the ball into the dugout. Ramos then belted a three-run homer in the sixth inning before cranking a 444-foot solo shot in the eighth. It was the outfielder's first career multi-homer game, and the five RBI were a career-best single-game mark. Ramos has been hot since returning from the IL on June 28, slashing .313/.353/.844 with four long balls, one double, two triples, eight runs and eight RBI over eight games.

  • Giants' Heliot Ramos: Lifts fifth homer

Ramos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. Ramos has gone 2-for-7 with a walk over two games since he returned from a quadriceps strain. He played Monday's full game in right field, and that's expected to be his spot in the field for the foreseeable future. The outfielder is batting .267 with a .746 OPS, five homers, 21 RBI, 21 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 46 contests this season.

  • Giants' Heliot Ramos: Expected back Sunday, moving to RF

Ramos (quadriceps) is expected to be activated from the 10-day IL on Sunday, and he's likely to see more playing time in right field, Justice delos Santos of The Mercury News reports. Ramos last saw action for San Francisco on May 15 before being placed on the IL due to a right quad strain the following day. The 26-year-old kicked off a rehab assignment June 17 and has gone 9-for-26 with one home run, three doubles and two RBI over seven games. Since Ramos has been sidelined, Bryce Eldridge has thrived as the Giants' designated hitter while Casey Schmitt has played well while starting in left field. With that in mind, Schmitt is set to retain his role in that position, which will likely push Ramos to right field and move Jung Hoo Lee from right to center. That setup should remain consistent until Harrison Bader (foot), who doesn't have a clear timetable for a return, per delos Santos, is able to get back on the field.

Before he was sent to the IL, Ramos slashed .267/.307/.424 with 20 RBI, 19 runs scored, four home runs and a 26.7 percent strikeout rate across 176 plate appearances.

Ramos received a PRP injection in his injured right quadriceps and will be shut down for one week, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The outfielder is looking at more than the minimum 10 days on the injured list. Ramos has slashed .267/.307/.424 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs scored and a 10:47 BB:K across 176 plate appearances this season.

  • Giants' Heliot Ramos: Out for at least two weeks

Giants manager Tony Vitello told reporters Saturday that Ramos will be shelved for at least two weeks due to a right quad strain, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Ramos was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, and given the updated timeline provided by Vitello, Ramos will likely be out of action until at least early June. Drew Gilbert, Will Brennan and Casey Schmitt will all be in the mix for reps in left field for as long as Ramos is sidelined.

The Giants placed Ramos on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right quad strain. Ramos was taken out of Friday's contest early after his quad tightened up on him in the sixth inning, and he'll now spend at least the next 10 days on the sidelines. Drew Gilbert will likely take over as San Francisco's primary left fielder as long as Ramos is sidelined, and Will Brennan will come up from Triple-A Sacramento to replenish the team's outfield depth.

Ramos was removed from Friday's game against the Athletics due to right quad tightness, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Ramos appeared to be in discomfort after taking a swing in the sixth inning. He finished out the at-bat but was replaced in the outfield once the two teams switched sides. The Giants will likely send Ramos in for imaging to determine the severity of his injury, and if the 26-year-old has to miss any amount of time, Drew Gilbert would be next in line to start in left.

  • Giants' Heliot Ramos: Opens with homer

Ramos went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two additional RBI in Monday's loss against St. Louis. Despite that spark, he's slumped to a .228/.296/.374 line over his past 30 games. For the season, he owns a .726 OPS across 152 contests -- slightly above league average -- but that mark, along with a .391 slugging percentage, is a step back from his .791 OPS in 2024.
