Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Sitting again versus lefty
McNeil is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.
McNeil has been out of the lineup for two straight games and seven times over the last eight occasions that the Mets have faced a left-hander, and he's pretty clearly in a platoon at second base with Jose Iglesias. Iglesias and his teammates will try to solve southpaw Shota Imanaga on Friday.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Planning to play next season
McCutchen indicated earlier this week that he plans to continue his playing career after this season, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
"In my mind, this isn't my last year," McCutchen said. McCutchen will turn 38 in October and is basically a full-time designated hitter at this point. He's been productive this season, however, particularly since being moved into the Pirates' leadoff spot, where he's slashed .273/.359/.459 with nine homers in 195 plate appearances. Mackey writes that he was told by owner Bob Nutting last season that McCutchen "will remain a Pirate for as long as he wants," so it would seem the team would be amendable to a new deal after this season.

Manny Machado 3B | SD
Padres' Manny Machado: Slugs seventh homer
Machado went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Thursday's win over Milwaukee.
Machado jumped on a four-seamer from Bryse Wilson with two outs in the bottom of the first inning and sent it into the stands in right field to put San Diego up 3-1. The third baseman would also add a single, giving him his third multi-hit performance in his last four games. Machado is now up to seven homers on the season, though Thursday's long ball was only his second since May 3.

Fernando Tatis Jr. RF | SD
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Four hits in win
Tatis went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Brewers.
Tatis recorded hits in each of his first four trips to the plate, including a home run in the bottom of the fifth to extend San Diego's lead to 5-3. It was the star outfielder's 14th long ball on the campaign and his fifth this month, during which he's now batting .370 with seven RBI, two stolen bases and 13 runs scored. It also marked Tatis' second four-hit performance this season, both of which have come in June.

Adam Mazur P | MIA
Padres' Adam Mazur: Allows three runs in no-decision
Mazur did not factor into the decision in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
Mazur allowed one run in the first inning after surrendering a leadoff double to Brice Turang to open the contest, but the right-hander was able to keep the Brewers' offense at bay over the next three frames as San Diego took a 4-1 lead. The 23-year-old's luck would run out in the fifth, however, when Willy Adames chased him from the game with a two-run shot. Mazur has now failed to make it through five innings in each of his last three starts, allowing 13 runs over that stretch while posting a putrid 9:12 K:BB. He's likely to be pushed out of the rotation as soon as Yu Darvish (groin) returns.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Nationals' Jesse Winker: Goes yard again Thursday
Winker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
For the second straight game, Winker went yard in the sixth inning, this time taking Ryne Nelson deep. While those are the veteran outfielder's only two long balls in June, he's otherwise putting together an impressive month, slashing .389/.484/.519 through 17 games with nine runs and 10 RBI.

Lane Thomas LF | ATL
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Pops eighth homer
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
The 28-year-old outfielder took Ryne Nelson deep in the third inning to give the Nationals an early lead that quickly slipped away. Thomas had a tough start to the season due to injuries, but he appears healthy now and back in his 2023 form. He's hit safely in 11 of the last 13 games, slashing .292/.345/.667 over that stretch with five of his eight homers on the year and 12 of his 23 runs.

Randal Grichuk LF | CHW
Diamondbacks' Randal Grichuk: Drives in two in win
Grichuk went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Nationals.
Grichuk lined a two-out double that plated Arizona's eventual winning run as part of a three-run fourth inning. He's been productive in a part-time role, mainly starting against left-handers, and is slashing .304/.360/.464 through 46 games. His .824 OPS is a career high.
-
Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Adds finishing touch in win
Walker went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-2 win over Washington.
Walker provided an insurance run with a solo blast in the ninth inning for his team-leading 17th home run of the season and fifth in the last eight games. He also leads the Diamondbacks with 50 RBI. The 33-year-old can still bring it, as Walker possesses top-shelf bat speed (89th percentile), average exit velocity (84th percentile), barrel rate (97th percentile) and hard-hit rate (88th percentile).

Bryse Wilson RP | MIL
Brewers' Bryse Wilson: Allows three homers in no-decision
Wilson did not factor into the decision in Thursday's loss to the Padres, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out five.
Wilson failed to retire five of the first seven batters he faced to open the contest, surrendering back-to-back homers to Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill in the first to put the Brewers in an early 4-1 hole. The right-hander would settle in over the next three frames before coughing up another long ball in the fifth. It was Wilson's first time this season in which he allowed multiple home runs in a start and he's given up at least five runs in two of his last three outings. He's also walked multiple batters in three consecutive starts.
