Reds' Carson Spiers: To be leaned on Tuesday
Spiers is expected to either start or work as the bulk reliever Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Chris Taylor LF | LAA
Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Nearing return to majors
Taylor (groin) is nearing a return to the major-league roster, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Taylor started a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, going 4-for-11 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored over three games to this point. Kevin Kiermaier CF | LAD
Dodgers' Kevin Kiermaier: Takes seat Monday
Kiermaier isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Seattle, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Tommy Edman is fresh off the injured list and will draw the start in center field Monday night, booting Kiermaier to the bench. Dodgers' Hunter Feduccia: Called up Monday

River Ryan SP | DET
Dodgers' River Ryan: Moved to 60-day IL
Ryan (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.
It's already been determined that Ryan will miss the remainder of this season and likely most if not all of 2025 while on the mend from Tommy John surgery, so this move is simply to open up a spot on the 40-man roster following the return of Max Muncy (oblique) from the 60-day IL.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Dodgers' Nick Ahmed: DFA'd by Dodgers
Ahmed was designated for assignment by Los Angeles on Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Ahmed has seen his playing time dwindle over the last few weeks, totaling only 24 at-bats so far in August. Following the return of Tommy Edman (wrist) and Max Muncy (oblique) from the injured list Monday, the club has elected to send the veteran shortstop to the waiver wire.

The 29-year-old has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 campaign while working his way back from wrist surgery and an ankle sprain. Edman was traded to the Dodgers on July 29 and he has produced a .294 average with a home run, four RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base over 17 at-bats in six games with Triple-A Oklahoma while on a rehab assignment.
