Padres' Matthew Batten: Sent down to minors

The Padres optioned Batten to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Batten's latest stint in the big league lasted just one day and he did not see any action. His roster spot will be filled by infielder Mason McCoy, who was called up from Triple-A.
