  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Mets' Jesse Winker: Walks off Baltimore

Winker went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit, solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Orioles.

Winker chose quite a time to hit his first home run with the Mets -- the outfielder led off the bottom of the ninth with an opposite-field shot off Seranthony Dominguez, giving New York a 4-3 victory. While Winker hadn't been hitting for much power before Wednesday, he's gone a respectable 15-for-52 (.288) in 18 games with the Mets while filling the strong side of a platoon in right field. However, Starling Marte's return could cut into Winker's playing time down the stretch. Overall, Winker's slashing .262/.367/.414 this season across 433 plate appearances between New York and Washington with 12 homers, 49 RBI, 56 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.

  • Tommy Pham DH | CHW

Cardinals' Tommy Pham: Could see more starts vs. RHPs

Pham will start in left field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Pham had made three of his last four starts against left-handed starting pitchers, but he'll crack the lineup Wednesday while the Brewers send a righty (Tobias Myers) to the hill. According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, Pham could have a pathway to regular playing time moving forward, as the Cardinals optioned struggling infielder Nolan Gorman to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday. With Gorman out of the picture, Brendan Donovan will likely handle a regular role at second base moving forward, which clears room in the corner outfield for both Pham and Lars Nootbaar.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Snags another win

Diaz (5-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Orioles, striking out a pair in a perfect inning.

Diaz made quick work of the middle of Baltimore's lineup, striking out Anthony Santander and Ryan Mountcastle in a clean top half of the ninth before the Mets walked it off with a Jesse Winker homer in the bottom half of the frame. Diaz has wins in back-to-back appearances -- he's allowed just two runs in his last 11.2 innings while logging 18 strikeouts in that span. The 30-year-old Diaz has converted 14 of 19 save chances this season while posting a 3.41 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 12.9 K/9 across 37 innings.

  • Adam Duvall CF | ATL

Braves' Adam Duvall: Seeing limited opportunities

Duvall is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Since making consecutive starts Aug. 11 and 12, Duvall has yet to rejoin the Atlanta lineup, even with Austin Riley (hand) landing on the injured list Tuesday and with Jorge Soler (hamstring) missing a sixth straight start Wednesday. Atlanta has signed Gio Urshela to replace Riley as its main option at third base, while Ramon Laureano has emerged as the preferred option in right field while Soler is day-to-day. Duvall looks like he might have to settle for the short side of a platoon with Jarred Kelenic in left field for now, though he could cede that role to Laureano once Soler is back in action.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Braves' Jorge Soler: Still eyeing weekend return

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Wednesday that Soler (hamstring) has been running the bases and hitting and remains on track to return to the lineup during this weekend's series versus Washington, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Even though Soler will be out of the lineup for a sixth straight game Wednesday against the Phillies while he tends to a strained left hamstring, Atlanta remains confident that he'll avoid a stint on the injured list. In addition to classifying Soler as day-to-day, Snitker's willingness to use the 32-year-old off the bench in Tuesday's 3-1 win seemingly supports the notion that the outfielder/designated hitter will be back in the lineup soon. During his lone plate appearance Tuesday, Soler drew a walk in the bottom of the eighth inning before being lifted for a pinch runner.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Mets' Sean Manaea: Shines in no-decision

Manaea allowed three runs on three hits over seven innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Orioles. He struck out nine.

Manaea got off to a stellar start Wednesday, setting down the first 17 batters he faced. However, he hit Jackson Holliday with a pitch with two outs in the sixth inning before surrendering a two-run homer to Austin Slater, Baltimore's first hit of the game. Manaea has now gone seven innings in four of his last five outings, pitching to a 2.61 ERA in that span (31 innings). Overall, the left-hander is 9-5 on the year with a 3.48 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 138:52 K:BB across 137 innings. Manaea is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Diamondbacks early next week.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Available off bench

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said that d'Arnaud (wrist) is available off the bench to catch Wednesday versus the Phillies, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

D'Arnaud hasn't played since being hit in the wrist by a pitch Saturday against the Angels. He's feeling much better, although it's not clear when he might be ready to return to the lineup. Sean Murphy will make his third straight start at catcher Wednesday.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Taking seat against lefty

Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Stott will be joined on the bench by fellow left-handed-hitting regular Brandon Marsh as Atlanta sends ace southpaw Max Fried to the hill. Edmundo Sosa will fill in for Stott at second base.

  • Brandon Marsh LF | PHI

Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Heading to bench against lefty

Marsh is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

After manning left field in the first two games of the series while going 1-for-6 with a solo home run and a walk, the lefty-hitting Marsh will retreat to the bench Wednesday while Atlanta sends ace lefty Max Fried to the mound. Weston Wilson will spell Marsh in left field.

  • Mike Siani CF | BAL

    Cardinals' Michael Siani: Rehab progressing

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Wednesday that Siani (oblique) has progressed to hitting coach-flipped pitches and doing some light defensive work, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Siani began hitting off a tee this past weekend and is now continuing his progression as he works his way back from a right oblique strain. The center fielder has been shelved since early August but could be ready to return from the 10-day injured list around the start of September.
