Blas Castano SP | COL
Rockies' Blas Castano: Claimed by Colorado
The Rockies claimed Castano off waivers Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Castano was designated for assignment by the Mariners last week but will maintain a spot on a 40-man roster with the Rockies. The right-hander opened this season at the Triple-A level and has given up one earned run with a 4:1 K:BB across 6.1 innings.

Jimmy Herget RP | COL
Rockies' Jimmy Herget: Serving as opener
The Rockies will deploy Herget as an opener Tuesday against the Padres, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
The right-hander will pick up his third start of the season as an opener Tuesday, with Chase Dollander expected to follow in the bulk role. Herget has primary worked as a high-leverage arm for Colorado this season with three holds and a save, and he's been effective with a 1.64 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB over 11 innings. He won't have any fantasy relevance Tuesday while working as an opener, however.

River Ryan P | LAD
Dodgers' River Ryan: Nursing hamstring issue at Triple-A
Ryan was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Oklahoma City on April 17 due to a hamstring injury, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The injury is considered minor, though it's not clear when exactly Ryan might be ready to rejoin the Oklahoma City rotation. Following a strong Cactus League showing, Ryan has posted a 5.14 ERA and 10:2 K:BB over seven frames in his first two starts with OKC this season. The 27-year-old missed the entire 2025 season recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he's a good bet to help the Dodgers at some point this season, either in a rotation or bullpen capacity.

Juan Soto LF | NYM
Mets' Juan Soto: Aiming to return Wednesday
The Mets' current plan is for Soto (calf) to return from the 10-day injured list Wednesday against the Twins, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Working his way back from a right calf train, Soto began a running progression a week ago and has made strides without any setbacks. He is poised to skip a rehab assignment and return to the Mets' lineup for the second contest of a three-game series versus the Twins. Soto was slashing .355/.412/.516 across 34 plate appearances when he was hurt in early April.

Matt Waldron SP | SD
Padres' Matt Waldron: Drawing another start
Waldron is slated to start Thursday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.
Shelved to begin the season while completing his recovery from hemorrhoid surgery, Waldron returned from the injured list last week following a dominant minor-league rehab stint during which he tossed 12 scoreless frames and posted a 12:1 K:BB over three starts for Triple-A El Paso. The right-hander stepped into the San Diego rotation but was unable to carry over his success from the minors, taking a loss Friday against the Angels while yielding six earned runs on eight hits and one walk over 3.2 innings. Though Waldron will be handed another start, he'll be difficult to rely upon for fantasy purposes while pitching in hitter-friendly Colorado.

Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Stays hot in loss to Marlins
Winn went 2-for-3 with a triple, a sacrifice fly and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Marlins.
After homering and driving in a total of seven runs in the weekend series in Houston, Winn stayed hot at the plate in Monday's series opener in Miami. The 24-year-old entered the Astros series having slashed just .188/.339/.250 with one RBI in his first 14 contests of the season, but Winn has suddenly found his rhythm at the dish.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Pilfers fifth bag in Monday's loss
Abrams went 0-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's loss to Atlanta. He was also hit by a pitch.
The shortstop has begun to cool down at the plate, going hitless in the last three games, but Abrams is still finding ways to be productive. On the season, he's slashing .312/.432/.584 with six homers, five steals, 14 runs and 19 RBI in 22 contests.

Sal Stewart 1B | CIN
Reds' Sal Stewart: Knocks out eighth homer
Stewart went 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and a stolen base during Monday's 6-1 win over the Rays.
Stewart hit his eighth homer of the season in the first inning, a 424-foot shot to center. His eight homers are tied for third in MLB, behind just Aaron Judge and Yordan Alvarez. After belting five homers in just 58 plate appearances during his 2025 MLB debut campaign and adding eight through 98 PAs this season, Stewart is impressively leaving the yard once every 12 trips to the batter's box thus far in his brief MLB career.

Michael McGreevy P | STL
Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Falters late in loss to Marlins
McGreevy (1-2) took the loss Monday in Miami, yielding four runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 frames. He struck out three.
McGreevy was cruising early, retiring the first 10 batters of the game. Then, seven of the final 14 batters he faced reached base, with four of them scoring. McGreevy's velocity was up slightly across the board in this one, but the 91.4 mph he averaged on his four-seamer is still well below last year's 93 mph mark. He's managed a 3.29 ERA and 0.92 WHIP through his first five starts this season, but McGreevy's strikeout rate is down even lower than last year's at 14.3 percent. He's lined up to face the Mariners at home Sunday in his next outing.
