  • Astros' Dustin Harris: Pulled with bruised hand

Harris was removed from Tuesday's game against the Guardians with a left hand contusion, Julia Morales of Space City Home Network reports. Harris took a 93.6-mph sinker off his hand in the fifth inning of Tuesday's contest. He remained in the game to run for himself but was removed from the game when Houston went on defense. His diagnosis suggests he avoided a significant injury, though the Astros may look to keep him on the bench for a day or two as a precaution.

  • Astros' Joey Loperfido: IL move official

The Astros placed Loperfido on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right quadriceps strain. The 26-year-old sustained the quad injury during Friday's 9-4 loss to the Cardinals. Loperfido will be eligible to be reinstated April 28, and Astros general manager Dana Brown said during a radio appearance Sunday that he's optimistic that the 26-year-old outfielder will be ready to return at that time, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. In the meantime, the Astros will likely lean on Brice Matthews, Dustin Harris and Shay Whitcomb to pick up reps in left field in Loperfido's absence.

  • Astros' J.P. France: Cut from 40-man roster

The Astros designated France for assignment Saturday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports. The move makes room on the Astros' 40-man roster for outfielder Dustin Harris, who was claimed off waivers from the White Sox in a corresponding move. France struggled out of the bullpen across three outings with Houston, allowing six runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four in 6.2 innings.

  • White Sox's Dustin Harris: Booted from 40-man roster

The White Sox designated Harris for assignment Wednesday. Harris will cede his spot on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster to one of the organization's top prospects in Sam Antonacci, who received a call-up from Triple-A Charlotte. After receiving a promotion of his own from Charlotte on April 7, Harris proceeded to go 3-for-12 with a double, two stolen bases and a 4:1 BB:K in six games for the White Sox. He'll now go through the waiver process and will have the ability to elect free agency if he goes unclaimed.

  • White Sox's Dustin Harris: Sitting against lefty

Harris is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals. The left-handed hitter will take a seat for the second time in the series against another southpaw in Noah Cameron. Harris has started three straight games against right-handed pitching and could have a hold on a strong-side platoon role until Chicago gets Kyle Teel (hamstring) or Austin Hays (hamstring) back from the injured list. A promotion for top prospect Sam Antonacci could also block Harris' path to regular playing time in left field.

  • White Sox's Dustin Harris: Reassigned to minor-league camp

The White Sox reassigned Harris to minor-league camp Monday. Harris was in camp on a minor-league deal that included an invitation to spring training. The 26-year-old has swung the bat well this spring, slashing .471/.526/.588 with a pair of doubles, four RBI, two stolen bases and two walks across 19 trips to the plate. Harris should open the season with Triple-A Charlotte.

  • White Sox's Dustin Harris: Signs with White Sox as NRI

The White Sox signed Harris to a minor-league contract Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports. Harris hit .285/.369/.435 at Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers organization last season but went just 8-for-40 with a 30.2 percent strikeout rate during his time with the big club. The White Sox don't have much outfield depth, so the 26-year-old Harris has an outside shot of pushing for an Opening Day roster spot.

  • Dustin Harris: Elects free agency

Harris elected to become a free agent Wednesday. Harris cleared waivers after being removed from the Rangers' 40-man roster and has opted to hit the free-agent market. The 26-year-old has hit .217/.280/.435 over 21 games during his brief time with the Rangers across the past two seasons.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Placed on 10-day IL

The Rangers placed Harris on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a sprained wrist, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. Texas had initially planned to option Harris, but that's been voided and he'll instead spend the remainder of the regular season on the injured list. Harris has slashed .200/.256/.350 with one home run, two RBI, five runs scored, one stolen base and a 3:13 BB:K across 43 trips to the plate with Texas this season.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Back in majors

The Rangers selected Harris' contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. The 26-year-old will return to the active roster to replenish the Rangers' outfield depth following Adolis Garcia's (quad) move to the injured list. Harris slashed .200/.263/.343 with an RBI and four runs scored across 38 plate appearances while with the big club earlier in the year, but he owns an .845 OPS since being sent down to Triple-A. He's likely ticketed for a bench role while in Arlington.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Dropped from 40-man roster

The Rangers outrighted Harris to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday. Harris was designated for assignment Thursday in the aftermath of the trade deadline but will remain in the Texas organization upon going unclaimed off waivers. The 26-year-old outfielder posted a .606 OPS over 38 plate appearances with the Rangers earlier this season but has spent the bulk of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Round Rock, with whom he's slashed .262/.355/.401 with nine home runs and 24 stolen bases in 66 games.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Starts in left field

Harris started in left field and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Angels. Harris got the start in place of Josh Smith (thumb), who has been part of a platoon in left field while Wyatt Langford (oblique) is on the 10-day injured list. It's been Smith against right-handers and Kevin Pillar against lefties. Harris is 2-for-8 with a double and a home run in four games since being called up.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Homers in loss

Harris started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Seattle. The Rangers rested Marcus Semien, which led to Josh Smith covering second base and gave Harris is first start since being called up. The lefty hitting outfielder could see more opportunities in left field with Wyatt Langford (oblique) on the injured list, but Smith is the primary fill-in.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Receives call to majors

The Rangers recalled Harris from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday. Harris will give Texas some extra coverage in the outfield while Wyatt Langford (oblique) is on the injured list, though the 25-year-old won't necessarily be a direct replacement for Langford in the everyday lineup. Kevin Pillar will draw the start in left field in Wednesday's game against the Cubs, and he, Harris, Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran could all be in the mix for playing time while Langford is out. Harris received a brief cup of coffee with the Rangers last September but otherwise spent the entire 2024 campaign at Round Rock, with whom he slashed .272/.355/.391 with 10 home runs and 35 stolen bases across 562 plate appearances.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Shines against Angels

Harris went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Sunday's win over the Angels. Harris' first career hit was a two-run double in the seventh inning. He then belted his first MLB homer in the ninth. It was Harris' second appearance for the Rangers, and before his late-September promotion, he'd posted a .749 OPS through 131 games for Triple-A Round Rock.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Healthy again in spring training

Harris (oblique) came off the bench and played two innings at first base Saturday in the Rangers' 7-1 loss to the Dodgers in Cactus League play. Harris hadn't appeared in a Cactus League game since Feb. 28 due to a sore oblique, but he looks like he'll head into the regular season with a clean bill of health after he was available to play Saturday. He'll open the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Round Rock after the Rangers optioned him Tuesday.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Optioned to minor-league camp

The Rangers optioned Harris (oblique) to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. Harris received an invite to big-league camp as one of the organization's top prospects and went 3-for-10 with a double and two RBI through five games, but he's been sidelined by an oblique issue for the past week. The 24-year-old didn't have a realistic chance of making the Opening Day roster regardless of the injury, and he'll now shift over to minor-league camp.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Likely done for season

Harris (wrist) won't require surgery but isn't expected to return to action for Double-A Frisco this year, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports. The 23-year-old landed on the shelf with a sprained left wrist Aug. 10, and he isn't expected back with the RoughRiders in 2022. One of the Rangers' top prospects, Harris should finish the year with a .259/.346/.485 slash line with 18 home runs, 68 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 86 games at Double-A. He could still be available to play in the Fall League.

  • Rangers' Dustin Harris: Cool start in Double-A

Harris has a six-game hitting streak going at Double-A Frisco, but he's still sitting on a modest .258/.294/.290 line to open the campaign. The power he showed in the minors last year has yet to make an appearance in Double-A, and Harris is also sitting on career-worst walk and strikeout rates (6.1 and 29.4 percent, respectively) early on. That said, his spectacular 2021 results -- .327/.401/.542 with 20 homers and 25 steals in 110 games across Low-A and High-A -- certainly earned him some patience. There's no need to downgrade his stock based on these early returns.
