  • Cubs' Carson Kelly: Collects six RBI in blowout win

Kelly went 2-for-4 with a home run, six RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 16-2 win over Toronto. It was a banner day for Kelly, whose six RBI doubled the total from his previous 23 games combined. The veteran backstop clubbed a grand slam in the opening frame, worked a bases-loaded walk in the sixth and followed up with an RBI infield single in the seventh. Kelly is batting .281 with a double, two home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored over his past 10 contests.

  • Cubs' Carson Kelly: On bench Saturday

Kelly is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against San Francisco. Kelly will ride the bench for the third time in the past five games. The 31-year-old has slugged .277/.355/.367 with three homers in 186 plate appearances this season. Miguel Amaya will take over catching duties and bat eighth Saturday.

  • Cubs' Carson Kelly: Ends home run drought in win

Kelly went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Rockies. A day after getting a break from the starting lineup, Kelly returned with his third home run of the season. The Chicago catcher has been a steady enough hitter with a .282 batting average and .731 OPS across 51 games, though Thursday's long ball was his first since April 18. The power has been noticeably down from 2025, when Kelly went deep 17 times in 111 regular-season contests.

  • Cubs' Carson Kelly: On bench Wednesday

Kelly isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies. Kelly isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals. Kelly went 0-for-4 during Chicago's loss in Friday's series opener and will now stay put in the dugout to begin Saturday's contest. Miguel Amaya will replace him behind home plate and bat eighth.

  • Cubs' Carson Kelly: Tallies two hits in loss

Kelly went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Astros. Kelly and Michael Busch were the only Chicago hitters with multiple hits on the day as the Cubs lost their eighth straight contest. Despite the team's struggles recently, Kelly has remained a bright spot with a .296/.380/.392 slash line across 39 games. The batting average and on-base percentage would be new career bests for the veteran catcher, who has held onto his role as Chicago's top backstop ahead of Miguel Amaya due to his strong play.

  • Cubs' Carson Kelly: Productive in win Friday

Kelly went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks. Kelly has been an offensive force so far for the Cubs, as he's slashing .316/.413/.443 through 24 games. He's established himself as the clear top backstop in Chicago across the past two seasons, though Miguel Amaya is one of the more talented complementary options in the league. Kelly should continue to see the majority of the playing time moving forward, and his hot bat warrants attention in most fantasy formats.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres. He'll sit for the second time in the series while Miguel Amaya receives another start behind the plate in the finale in San Diego. • Cubs' Carson Kelly: Receiving rest Wednesday

Kelly is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. Miguel Amaya will step in behind the plate for Kelly, who will be rested after making starts each of the past three days. • Cubs' Carson Kelly: Slugs first home run

Kelly went 2-for-4 with a walk, a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Phillies. Just like he did last year, Kelly is off to a scorching hot start in 2026 with a .333 batting average and .922 OPS through 15 games. However, unlike 2025, the power hasn't been there for the catcher in the early going, as this was his first home run of the year. Kelly still seems to be locked in at the plate, and he should remain Chicago's top backstop ahead of Miguel Amaya, giving the former plenty of fantasy utility.
