Martini (thumb) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Martini had originally been targeting Tuesday as the start date for his assignment, so it's possible the 34-year-old is ahead of schedule in his recovery. It's unclear how many games he will play in the minors, though there's still a good chance he rejoins the Reds before the end of the season.

Siani isn't in the Cardinals' lineup for Saturday's game versus Toronto.

Siani will get a breather Saturday after going 5-for-34 with two RBI and two runs scored since returning from the injured list at the beginning of the month. His absence will move Brendan Donovan to the outfield while Thomas Saggese starts at second base and bats sixth.

The Phillies optioned Lazar to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

After coming up from Triple-A in late August, Lazar surrendered seven earned runs over just eight innings. His poor performance will cause him to be sent back to the minors while Kolby Allard rejoins the big-league squad to start Saturday's game.

The Phillies recalled Allard from Triple-A Lehigh Valley ahead of his start Saturday against the Mets.

Through four appearances (three starts) in the majors this season, Allard has posted a 3.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 18 innings, and he'll now be asked to fill the fifth spot in Philadelphia's rotation following the departure of Seth Johnson from the active roster earlier this week. The 27-year-old Allard will match up against a Mets offense that owns the 10th-best OPS in the majors.

Tellez isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday versus the Royals.

Tellez will take a day to recollect himself Saturday after going 0-for-14 across his last four games. His absence will allow Billy Cook to start at first base while batting ninth.

Bart isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Saturday's game against Kansas City.

Bart will grab a seat on the bench Saturday after going 1-for-3 with an RBI during Friday's loss in the series opener. Yasmani Grandal will fill in behind the dish and bat seventh.

The Mets optioned Stewart to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Stewart went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts while appearing in two games during his latest stint in the majors, and he'll now be sent back to the minors in favor of Luisangel Acuna. Stewart may still return to Queens before the end of the season, though he's unlikely to serve as more than bench depth.

The Mets recalled Acuna from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

With a .654 OPS at Triple-A, Acuna should be considered unlikely to force his way into the regular lineup as he reaches the majors for the first time in his career, but he's proven to be a similar threat on the basepaths to his older brother, Ronald. The 22-year-old will take the place of DJ Stewart on the active roster and give the Mets some versatility while Francisco Lindor deals with a back injury.

Goodman went 3-for-4 with two home runs and seven RBI in Friday's 9-5 win over the Cubs.

The 24-year-old took Javier Assad deep in the second inning for a two-run blast before breaking open a 5-5 tie with a grand slam off Nate Pearson in the eighth. Per Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com, Goodman is the second-youngest player in Rockies history to record seven or more RBI in a game -- Troy Tulowitzki was about a month younger in 2009 when he accomplished the feat. Goodman has been seeing consistent playing time in September, mainly behind the plate, and he's gone 7-for-25 (.280) with three of his 11 homers and eight of his 32 RBI on the season.

Gomber came away with a no-decision in Friday's 9-5 win over the Cubs, allowing two runs on nine hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.

The southpaw produced his third straight quality start and 12th of the season, tying the career high he set in 2023, but Gomber saw his sixth win of the year slip away when the Colorado bullpen coughed up the lead in the top of the eighth inning. The 30-year-old has been sharp since the beginning of August, delivering six QS in eight trips to the mound while posting a 3.67 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 34:10 K:BB through 49 innings. Gomber will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Diamondbacks.
