Gallo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Gallo will sit for the second time in the three-game series while the Mets send another southpaw (Jose Quintana) to the hill. Juan Yepez will replace Gallo at first base.

The Pirates placed Nicolas (side) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

With only 11 days left in the season and Pittsburgh out of the running for a wild-card spot, Nicolas' move to the IL will put an early end to his 2024 campaign. The 25-year-old righty will finish the year with a 3.95 ERA and 1.50 WHIP alongside a 55:31 K:BB across 54.2 innings. Jake Woodford was selected to the active roster in a corresponding move and will start Wednesday's game versus St. Louis.

The Pirates transferred Heller (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Heller initially landed on the injured list at the end of August with right shoulder inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL will officially make him ineligible to return before the end of the season. He'll surrender his spot on the 40-man roster to Jake Woodford, who will start Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Taylor will start in left field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Taylor will enter the lineup for just the seventh time since he was activated from the 10-day injured list Aug. 22. The 34-year-old will likely continue to see limited opportunities over the final week and a half of the season while the Dodgers' playoff positioning is not yet locked in.

Muncy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Muncy had started in each of the last 10 games, and with a lefty (Ryan Weathers) on the mound for the Marlins, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts likely decided it was an ideal time to give the lefty-hitting third baseman a day off. Enrique Hernandez will spell Muncy at the hot corner.

Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

With lefty Ryan Weathers on the bump for Miami, the lefty-hitting Lux will retreat to the bench. Mookie Betts has been serving as the Dodgers' everyday right fielder since coming off the injured list Aug. 12, but he'll pick up a start at the keystone Wednesday in place of Lux.

Arraez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Arraez sustained a lower-body injury in Monday's 3-1 win in the series opener, but he was back in the lineup for Tuesday's 4-3 loss, serving as the Padres' designated hitter while going hitless in five at-bats. The Padres haven't indicated that Arraez experienced a setback Tuesday, but the recent injury coupled with a matchup against a tough lefty (Framber Valdez) may have factored into manager Mike Shildt's decision to give the 27-year-old the night off. Arraez had started in each of the Friars' previous 15 games.

Higashioka is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

He'll take a seat for the series finale after picking up starts behind the plate Monday and Tuesday. Elias Diaz will handle catching duties Wednesday in Higashioka's stead.

The Dodgers transferred Glasnow (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Glasnow was diagnosed with a sprained elbow Saturday, and his move to the 60-day IL will officially rule him out for the remainder of the regular season. Zach Logue's contract was selected from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Kelenic is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

The left-handed-hitting Kelenic has picked up just two starts in eight games, even while Atlanta has opposed six right-handed starters during that span. After previously occupying the strong side of a platoon in left field, Kelenic appears to have ceded everyday duties at the position to Ramon Laureano. Kelenic's reduction in playing time comes while he's managed a lowly .176/.240/.294 slash line with a 30.7 percent strikeout rate dating back to Aug. 10.
