Turnbull (lat) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Sidelined since late June with a right lat strain, Turnbull is finally ready to return to a live setting. He'll be cutting it close, but it appears he'll get a chance to bolster his case for a postseason roster spot with an appearance or two during the final week of the regular season. Turnbull has posted a stellar 2.65 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 54.1 innings with Philadelphia this season.

Muncy has been removed from the Dodgers' lineup Sunday against the Rockies due to side soreness, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Muncy was slated to start at third base and bat fifth Sunday. He appears to dealing with side soreness from an attempted diving catch in Saturday's game, but he's expected to be back Tuesday against San Diego, per Eric Stephen of SBNation.com. Enrique Hernandez will take over for Muncy at third base for the series finale.

Paredes (wrist) will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Paredes missed out on starts in the last two games due to a left wrist contusion, but he'll be good to go for the series finale. The third baseman carries a .281/.371/.298 slash line for the month heading into Sunday's contest.

Carroll is receiving a scheduled day off Sunday against the Brewers, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

The Diamondbacks clarified that Carroll's absence is not injury-related, and that he and Christian Walker are simply resting up. Carroll has surged to a .259/.352/.585 slash line, 16 homers and 14 steals since the All-Star break after struggling to the tune of a .212/.301/.334 line in the first half.

Nunez will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Nunez will close the weekend with consecutive starts at shortstop after he went 1-for-3 in Saturday's 5-1 win. With the Nationals optioning CJ Abrams to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Nunez could take on an everyday role in the middle infield during the final week of the regular season.

The Padres recalled Brito from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right elbow strain.

Brito landed on the IL at El Paso earlier this month, and the Padres have since clarified that he's dealing with a right elbow strain. Part of the Padres' return in the offseason trade that sent Juan Soto to the Yankees, Brito will end the season with a 4.12 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 43.2 innings (26 appearances) with San Diego. His move to the 60-day IL frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for infielder Nick Ahmed, whose contract was selected in a corresponding move.

Siani is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

The left-handed-hitting Siani has now been excluded from the lineup twice during the series with Cleveland, with both absences coming against right-handed starting pitchers. Thomas Saggese cracked the lineup in Siani's stead Friday, but Matt Carpenter will serve as the Cardinals' designated hitter Sunday while Lars Nootbaar slides over from left field to cover Siani's usual spot in center field.

The Padres placed McCoy on the 10-day injured list Sunday with back inflammation.

McCoy's IL stint is backdated to Thursday, making him eligible to return for the Padres' final game of the regular season Sept. 29. He has appeared in 19 games with the Padres this season, slashing .204/.278/.245. The Padres will replace McCoy on the 28-man active roster with veteran infielder Nick Ahmed, who was called up in a corresponding transaction.

The Padres selected Ahmed's contract on Sunday.

Ahmed is back in the majors and will provide infield depth in the absence of Mason McCoy, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with back inflammation. While Ahmed has been in the San Diego organization since Sept. 1, he never made an appearance with a minor-league affiliate and was instead working at the team's complex in Arizona. He had hit .232/.271/.300 in 69 games between the Dodgers and Giants this season.

Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The lefty-hitting Bauers will head to the bench for the series finale while southpaw Jordan Montgomery toes the rubber for Arizona. Bauers will cede his spot in the lineup to Gary Sanchez, who serves as the Brewers' starting catcher while William Contreras gets a day off behind the plate to handle designated-hitter duties.
