Canning (0-1) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings against Houston.

Canning went through the first four innings of Saturday's game unscathed but lost the shutout when he gave up a solo home run to Jeremy Pena in the fifth frame. Canning was close to earning a quality start, but his last pitch thrown was smacked into deep center field by Yordan Alvarez for an RBI double that gave the Astros a one-run lead in the sixth inning. The loss is disappointing, but it was a good start to Canning's Mets tenure, and it was promising to see his fastball top out at 96 mph after hovering around 93-to-94 mph in spring training. He'll look to earn his first win in a Mets uniform next week and is lined up to face the Blue Jays at home.

Kiner-Falefa went 2-for-3 with two walks and two stolen bases Saturday against the Marlins.

Kiner-Falefa was expected to lead off for a significant portion of spring, but he's instead hit ninth in all three of Pittsburgh's games. He's still found a way to be productive and has benefited from the team's aggressiveness on the basepaths by swiping three bases on three tries. Kiner-Falefa is likely to provide little other production, but he could be a streaming option for stolen bases.

Bart went 3-for-6 with an RBI and a stolen base Saturday against the Marlins.

Bart has started all three of Pittsburgh's games behind the plate and hit cleanup on each occasion. He doesn't have much fantasy production to show for it, but he's gone 4-for-12 with a pair of walks.

Ohtani went 0-for-2 with two runs, two walks and a stolen base in a 7-3 win against Detroit on Saturday.

Though he ended the game without a hit for the first time this season, Ohtani drew two walks and scored twice. The superstar slugger also got into the stolen base column for the first time on the campaign with a swipe of second base in the seventh inning. After becoming MLB's first 50-50 player last year, there's some expectation that Ohtani will be less active on the basepaths this season, but Saturday served as a reminder that he's still capable of making an impact in that category.

Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in a 7-3 victory versus the Tigers.

Smith homered to left field in the sixth inning for his first long ball of the campaign. The veteran catcher is off to a strong start to the season, slashing .417/.588/.750 through five contests. He's knocked in three runs and posted a 5:3 BB:K during that stretch.

Edman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against Detroit in a 7-3 win Saturday.

Edman gave Los Angeles a 6-3 lead with his solo blast to center field in the seventh inning. The veteran utility man has gone deep three times through five games this season while starting four times at second base and once in center field. The early power is a bit surprising, as Edman never hit more than 13 long balls during any of his previous six major-league seasons -- although he did go yard six times in 37 regular-season games after being acquired by the Dodgers in 2024.

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in a 7-3 win against the Tigers on Saturday.

Freeman put the Dodgers on the board with a 418-foot solo homer in the first inning and added a run-scoring double in the seventh. The star first baseman has gone deep in each of his past two games and has four RBI over that span. Freeman appears to be well past the rib issue that kept him out of Los Angeles' first two games of the campaign in Tokyo during mid-March.

Sasaki completed 1.2 innings against Detroit in a no-decision Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out two batters.

As he did in his first big-league start, Sasaki battled his control while running up his pitch count. The right-hander needed 61 pitches to retire five batters Saturday and threw just 32 of those offerings for strikes. He's now issued nine free passes over just 4.2 frames in his first two major-league starts, though he's gotten away with yielding a relatively modest three runs over that span. Sasaki averaged just 2.0 walks per nine innings during his four seasons in Japan, so there's reason to believe that his early control issues will be corrected in time. However, until he is able to throw strikes more consistently -- especially with his offspeed offerings -- Sasaki figures to struggle to go deep into games.

Goodman went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored Saturday against the Rays.

Goodman played his way onto the Colorado roster during spring training, though it appears he also wrestled the starting catcher role away from Jacob Stallings. Goodman has started each of the Rockies' first two games, hitting sixth both times. He's gone 3-for-8 with a pair of doubles.

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Cubs.

Suarez set off an Arizona rally in the ninth inning with a two-run blast off Cubs closer Ryan Pressly. The veteran third baseman has now homered in each of Arizona's first three games of the campaign, belting four long balls and racking up seven RBI in that span. Suarez's red-hot start is a stark contrast to his early-season struggles last year -- he had just six homers and a .196 batting average through the end of June in his first campaign with the Diamondbacks in 2024.
