Suarez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Cubs.

Suarez set off an Arizona rally in the ninth inning with a two-run blast off Cubs closer Ryan Pressly. The veteran third baseman has now homered in each of Arizona's first three games of the campaign, belting four long balls and racking up seven RBI in that span. Suarez's red-hot start is a stark contrast to his early-season struggles last year -- he had just six homers and a .196 batting average through the end of June in his first campaign with the Diamondbacks in 2024.

Tucker went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in a 4-3 victory against Arizona on Saturday.

Tucker came into Saturday having gone just 2-for-16 over his first four contests as a Cub, but he put himself on the right track with Saturday's three-hit performance. His biggest knock was a two-run homer in the fifth inning that gave the Cubs a lead they never relinquished. Three of Tucker's five hits so far have gone for extra bases, and he has four RBI through five contests.

Shaw went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-3 victory versus Arizona.

Shaw didn't start the contest, but he came through in a big way as a pinch hitter when he smacked a solo homer to left-center field in the seventh inning. The long ball was his first major-league home run, and it proved to be the winning margin in the 4-3 win. Shaw is working as the Cubs' primary third baseman in his rookie campaign, and he's gone 3-for-19 through his first five major-league games.

Pfaadt (0-1) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five batters over six innings.

Pfaadt held Chicago scoreless for three frames before giving up a run in the fourth inning. The Cubs tagged him for two more runs on a Kyle Tucker homer in the fifth, and Arizona was never able to catch up. Pfaadt was pretty efficient in completing six frames on 78 pitches, and he gave his fantasy managers a boost with a quality start despite the loss. His second start of the campaign is expected to come against Washington next week.

Pressly picked up a save against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out one batter over one inning.

Pressly had a cushy three-run lead to work with when he got the ball in the ninth inning, but the veteran righty nearly gave the game away. He allowed Arizona to pull to within a run before making an out when Eugenio Suarez tagged him for a two-run homer, and Arizona put the tying run on base when Gabriel Moreno followed with a single. Pressly managed to retire the next two batters, but he walked Ketel Marte, and then allowed Corbin Carroll to reach base on an infield single. However, Garrett Hampson made a baserunning blunder on the hit and was tagged out after reaching third base, allowing Pressly to escape with his first save as a Cub. He should have some leash given his veteran status, but if Pressly were to struggle for an extended period, Porter Hodge -- who saved nine games for Chicago last season -- would be waiting in the wings.

Imanaga (1-0) tossed seven innings in a win against Arizona on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out four batters.

Imanaga fell behind when he gave up a run in the second inning, but that was the only time the Diamondbacks managed to cross the plate while he was in the game. The southpaw threw 91 pitches -- 63 of which were strikes -- and induced 14 whiffs in his first victory of the campaign. Imanaga has surrendered just one run over 11 frames despite posting a mediocre 6:6 K:BB across his first two starts of the year.

Scott went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Twins.

The 24-year-old outfielder picked up his first hits and first steals of 2025 after an 0-for-4 showing Thursday. Scott is getting another chance to prove he's the Cardinals' center fielder of the future, so he'll likely have a long leash, but plate discipline remains his biggest obstacle -- he's already struck out three times in eight at-bats to begin the season after posting a 6:42 BB:K in 53 games during his big-league debut last year.

Lopez went 3-for-5 with a walk, one RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Pirates.

Lopez stole his first base of the season in the third inning and later scored the game-winning run in the 12th frame. While the Marlins' lineup may not generate much excitement, the 26-year-old has tallied five hits with a homer, four RBI, three runs scored and a steal across the season's first three games.

Fedde (1-0) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-1 victory over Minnesota, allowing one run on two hits over six innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.

While Fedde wasn't dominant, the right-hander generated plenty of weak contact en route to a quality start in his 2025 debut. He tossed an efficient 73 pitches (47 strikes) before exiting, picking up where he left off after a successful return from the KBO in 2024. Fedde is scheduled to make his next start on the road next weekend in Boston.

Cruz went 0-for-2 with with four walks, a run scored and two steals in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Marlins.

Cruz has been off and running to open the season and now has four steals through three contests. The 26-year-old also walked a career-high four times Saturday, showcasing impressive plate discipline and bringing his season total to six free passes.
