Flores is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

He'll take a seat for the first time this season after hitting .250 with four home runs and 11 RBI through eight games, with seven of his starts coming at designated hitter. Heliot Ramos will get a day off from outfield duties and will serve as the Giants' DH while Flores rests up.

The Pirates announced that Triolo was scratched from the lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Yankees due to low back discomfort.

The Pirates are viewing Triolo as day-to-day, but he could be a candidate to land on the injured list if he fails to make much meaningful progress by the middle of the week. Isiah Kiner-Falefa had been scheduled to receive a day off Sunday but was thrust into the lineup at shortstop as a result of Triolo's late scratch.

Moniak will start in left field and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Moniak will pick up his fourth start in five games and appears to have at least temporarily moved ahead of Jordan Beck in the pecking order for playing time in left field. The 26-year-old has gone 3-for-12 with a pair of extra-base hits and a walk through his first six appearances with the Rockies.

Beck is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Beck will head to the bench for the third time in five games, with all three of those absences coming against right-handed pitching. Playing time in left field seems to be tilting in favor of Mickey Moniak, who owns a 1.060 OPS compared to Beck's .411 through Colorado's first eight games.

Farmer is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Farmer will take a seat for the series finale after manning second base in the previous two contests while going 4-for-8 with three doubles, one run and one RBI. Tyler Freeman will get the nod at the keystone Sunday, but Farmer still appears to be the Rockies' preferred option.

The Padres optioned Cruz to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Cruz was unlikely to be available for at least a few days after tossing 2.2 innings and 68 pitches in relief in Saturday's 7-1 loss to the Cubs, so the Padres elected to swap him off the active roster for a fresh bullpen arm in right-hander Logan Gillaspie, whose contract was selected from Triple-A. San Diego designated left-hander Tom Cosgrove for assignment to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Gillaspie.

Herrera was removed from Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Red Sox due to an apparent leg injury, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Herrera worked a walk during the bottom of the third inning but suffered an injury while running the bases and required assistance to leave the field. The 24-year-old was already likely to sit for Game 2 after starting the matinee, but his availability beyond Sunday is now in question. Pedro Pages stepped in behind the plate and would operate as St. Louis' primary catcher should Herrera be forced to miss time.

The Padres selected Gillaspie's contract from Triple-A El Paso prior to Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Before being non-tendered by the Padres in November, Gillaspie made nine appearances at the big-league level in 2024, logging a 7.15 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 11.1 innings. He'll likely be ticketed for a middle-relief role as he heads back to San Diego. The Padres designated left-hander Tom Cosgrove for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for the 27-year-old Gillaspie.

The Brewers recalled Wolfram from Triple-A Nashville ahead of Sunday's game against the Reds.

With the Brewers placing lefty Nestor Cortes (elbow) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move, Wolfram will move up to the big leagues for the first time in his career. The 28-year-old lefty turned in a 3.34 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 61:26 K:BB over 56.2 innings at Triple-A Round Rock in the Rangers organization in 2024, but he hadn't been as sharp through his two relief appearances at Nashville this season, allowing two earned runs on one hit and four walks over three innings. He'll likely work in middle relief during his stint with Milwaukee.

The Dodgers recalled Sauer from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Sauer was added to the 26-man active roster as a replacement for southpaw Blake Snell (shoulder), who landed on the injured list Sunday. The Dodgers will need to break in two new starters Tuesday and Wednesday versus the Nationals, and though Sauer made a three-inning start for Oklahoma City on April 2, he may not necessarily be the club's top choice to fill one of the openings in the rotation. Instead, Sauer will be available out of the bullpen Sunday and Monday before potentially getting cycled back to the minors.
