The Cardinals placed Herrera (knee) on the 10-day injured list Monday.

Herrera tweaked his left knee while running the bases in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Red Sox. He was diagnosed with inflammation after tests on his knee came back negative, but Herrera has since headed back to St. Louis to be evaluated further before the Cardinals determine how long he might be out. While Herrera is sidelined, Pedro Pages will serve as the Cardinals' primary catcher.

The Cardinals selected Pozo's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Pozo will serve as the team's backup catcher behind Pedro Pages for at least the next 10 days while Ivan Herrera (knee) is on the injured list. The 27-year-old Pozo was off to a hot start at Memphis with two home runs and three doubles over his first 21 plate appearances.

Cabrera (finger) covered four innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out six in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Jacksonville.

Cabrera built up to 53 pitches in his second rehab outing with Jacksonville. Though Cabrera has long been plagued by control problems, he hasn't issued a walk in either of his rehab starts, which have covered seven innings. Cabrera is eligible to come off the 15-day injured list this week, but the Marlins may want to see him get stretched out a little bit more in one final rehab outing before adding him back to the big-league rotation.

Harrington could piggyback Carmen Mlodzinski during Monday's game against the Cardinals, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Harrington has remained on the Pirates' active roster since his ill-fated major-league debut last Tuesday against the Rays, but the team hasn't revealed concrete plans for his usage. It would make sense for him to follow Mlodzinski on Monday, as Mlodzinski still isn't fully stretched out to start after spending most of the last two seasons as a reliever. Harrington yielded six runs over four innings last week versus the Rays.

Floyd (shoulder) made his 2025 debut with Single-A Daytona on Saturday, covering two innings and striking out two while allowing two earned runs on two hits and one walk.

The appearance also marked the professional debut of Floyd, the No. 38 overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft. After tossing 91 innings during his final season of college at LSU, Floyd was held out of game action in 2023, and he then missed time due to an elbow injury last spring before undergoing shoulder surgery sometime shortly thereafter. The 23-year-old was fortunate to avoid any setbacks this spring, and though he's now healthy to begin the 2025 campaign, the Reds will likely monitor his innings closely throughout the season.

Treinen (0-1) took the loss and was charged with a blown save against Philadelphia on Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over one inning.

Treinen entered in the bottom of the seventh inning after Los Angeles had rallied to take a one-run lead in the top of the frame. The right-hander found himself in quick trouble after he gave up a leadoff double to Bryce Harper followed by a walk to Max Kepler. After getting one out, Treinen then allowed two runs to cross the plate -- one on a single and one on a run-scoring groundout. It was an unusually subpar outing for the veteran reliever, who posted an ERA below 2.00 each of his previous three regular seasons and came into Sunday having pitched four scoreless innings to begin the campaign. He'll still be one of the Dodgers' top high-leverage arms and could get an occasional save chance, though Tanner Scott has emerged as the team's top closer.

The Rockies optioned Beck to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

Colorado isn't expected to announce a corresponding transaction until Tuesday, but prospect Zac Veen is likely to be called up from Albuquerque to replace Beck on the 26-man active roster ahead of the team's three-game series versus the Brewers. Beck secured a starting role coming out of spring training but had lost out on playing time to Mickey Moniak of late, cracking the lineup in just two of the Rockies' last five games. The 23-year-old will get the chance to play on an everyday basis in Albuquerque and will look to right the ship after slashing .150/.261/.150 with eight strikeouts over his 23 plate appearances for Colorado.

Johnson (foot) has played in two of Double-A Altoona's first three games of the season, going 2-for-8 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run.

Johnson's availability for the start of the minor-league season appeared to be in some question after he was unable to play in the Pirates' March 14 Spring Breakout game due to a bone bruise in his left foot, but he was evidently able to move past the issue a few weeks later. One of the top prospects in Pittsburgh's system, the 20-year-old Johnson is coming off a 2024 season in which he posted a .752 OPS with 15 home runs and 22 stolen bases over 124 games between Altoona and High-A Greensboro.

Knack appears in line to start Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had indicated previously that they would use a spot starter or a bullpen game Wednesday. Knack has joined the team on the road, so it looks like he'll take the ball Wednesday. The 27-year-old made 12 starts among 15 regular-season appearances with the big club as a rookie last year, posting a 3.65 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with a 69:18 K:BB over 69 innings. Knack spun two scoreless frames and picked up a win versus the Cubs in the second game of last month's Tokyo series.

Cox (elbow) made his season debut for Single-A Fresno on Friday, striking out three over two scoreless innings while giving up one hit and two walks.

Cox made an abbreviated start in what was his first minor-league outing since July 9, 2023, but he could increase his pitch counts in his subsequent appearances. He missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
