  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Goes yard in third straight game

Clemens went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Yankees. The 30-year-old slugger homered for a third straight game when he took Brendan Beck deep for a two-run shot in the first inning, the first of six long balls by the Twins on the afternoon. Clemens is up to 16 home runs on the season, and five of them have come in his last eight contests -- a stretch in which he's batting .303 (10-for-33) with 10 runs and 12 RBI.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Homers in win

Clemens went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run during Wednesday's 8-3 win against the Astros. Clemens delivered what ended up being the game-deciding runs when he clubbed his 14th homer of the season during the second inning. The super-utility man got his sixth straight start at second base and continues to be utilized all across the diamond with 48 appearances at first base and 29 in the outfield so far this year.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Out of lineup against lefty

Clemens is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers. The left-handed-hitting Clemens has essentially been an everyday player for the Twins dating back to late April, but he will get a breather Tuesday versus Dodgers southpaw Justin Wrobleski. Kyler Fedko is getting the start in right field and will bat ninth.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Belts two homers vs. KC

Clemens went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Royals. Clemens gave Minnesota an offensive jolt Thursday by taking Seth Lugo deep twice, with both blasts coming as solo shots. The homers were his seventh and eighth of the season and marked the second multi-homer game of his major-league career. The versatile infielder continues to swing a hot bat, going deep four times over his last eight games. Since May 10, Clemens is batting 25-for-87 (.287) with an .828 OPS across 22 contests.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Receiving day off versus righty

Clemens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox. Most of Clemens' absences from the lineup this season have come against left-handed pitching, but he'll get a breather Wednesday while the White Sox send righty Erick Fedde to the hill for a day game after a night game. Clemens had started in every game for the Twins dating back to May 15, slashing .239/.280/.437 with two home runs, eight RBI and seven runs over that 18-game stretch. The 30-year-old had seen playing time at all three outfield spots as well as first base and second base during that period, but he's likely to receive most of his starts at first base moving forward now that Byron Buxton is back to playing center field on a more regular basis.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Idle against lefty

Clemens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox. With southpaw Garrett Crochet on the bump for Boston, the left-handed-hitting Clemens will hit the bench while Victor Caratini steps in for him at first base. Clemens has now been excluded from the lineup in six of the last eight games, though the Twins have faced five lefty starters during that stretch.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Out of lineup versus righty

Clemens is absent from the lineup for Monday's tilt versus the Tigers. It's the first time in five games against right-handed pitching this season that Clemens is not in the starting lineup. Josh Bell will handle first base, Byron Buxton will be the designated hitter and James Outman will grab a start in center field for the Twins.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Launches first homer

Clemens went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Thursday's 5-1 win against the Royals. Clemens showed out at the plate, reaching base three times after having gotten on in just two of his first 10 plate appearances entering Thursday. The 29-year-old added insurance in the ninth inning with his first home run of the season, a 391-foot solo shot off Steven Cruz that extended the Twins' lead to three runs. Thursday's performance seemed to reinforce the confidence that Clemens built during his 2025 breakout campaign, when he posted a .715 OPS with 19 home runs across 386 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Taking seat against lefty

Clemens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals. With the Twins facing a lefty starter (Noah Cameron) for the second day in a row, the left-handed-hitting Clemens will hit the bench for another game. Victor Caratini will step in for Clemens at first base and bat seventh.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Second straight start vs. RHP

Clemens will start at first base and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Orioles, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. After taking a seat against lefty Trevor Rogers in Thursday's season opener, Clemens has now handled the leadoff role in two straight contests against righties. At least for the early part of the season, Clemens looks set to occupy the strong side of a platoon at first base, with Victor Caratini having received the nod at the position in the Twins' lone matchup with a lefty thus far.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: No clear path to regular role

Clemens doesn't appear to have a set regular role in the lineup with the Twins signing Josh Bell and with several left-handed outfielders on the roster, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. Clemens began the offseason looking like the team's starter at first base or at least the left-handed part of a platoon at the position. However, the Twins may not want to use Trevor Larnach in the outfield rather than DH against lefties, which would move Bell to first base, and Luke Keaschall looks set to play second base. Clemens hit .216/.284/.442 with 19 home runs last season in a breakout season and made significant strides in his batted-ball metrics with a 48.3 percent hard-hit rate and 12 percent barrel rate. His ability to play second base and first base should help find ways to get him into the lineup eventually, but he may find few at-bats early in the season unless the Twins trade a left-handed-hitting outfielder.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Idle against southpaw

Clemens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees. The left-handed-hitting Clemens had started in each of the last four games while the Twins went up against right-handed hurlers, but he'll hit the bench Monday as Minnesota matches up with southpaw Carlos Rodon. Edouard Julien will replace Clemens at first base and will bat ninth.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Resting Tuesday

Clemens isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels. Clemens will grab a seat on the bench Tuesday after beginning September 4-for-21 with two homers and an additional RBI and run scored through seven games. His absence will allow Edouard Julien to pick up a start at first base while batting eighth.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Idle Wednesday

Clemens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox. Clemens will take a seat against a right-handed starter (Yoendrys Gomez) for the second time in five games, allowing Edouard Julien to receive a turn at first base. Dating back to the time Julien was called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Aug. 1, both players have posted a sub-.600 OPS, so the two could operate in a timeshare until one clearly separates himself from the other from a performance standpoint.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Exiting starting nine

Clemens is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Toronto. Clemens is slashing only .192/.241/.321 in August and looks to be sliding back into more of a utility role, with Edouard Julien emerging as the primary first baseman against right-handers. The 29-year-old Clemens has been out of the lineup twice over the last five games, and in his three starts over that span he has played three different positions.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Resting Tuesday

Clemens isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers. Clemens racked up four hits and four RBI over his first two games out of the All-Star break, but he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and a sacrifice fly Monday. He'll now take a seat Tuesday, opening a spot in the lineup for Ty France to start at first base.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Hits third July homer

Clemens went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run during Saturday's 12-4 win over the Pirates. Clemens got the scoring started for the Twins with his third home run in July, a 389-foot, three-run blast that kickstarted a six-run second inning. The 29-year-old, who was claimed off waivers by the Twins earlier this year, continues to be a valuable power bat, as he's slashing .225/.306/.528 with 12 home runs and 26 RBI for Minnesota. With Luke Keaschall (forearm) getting closer to a return, it remains to be seen how much playing time Clemens gets on the other side of the All-Star break.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Homers Tuesday

Clemens went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Mariners. Clemens got the Twins on the board with a solo blast off Luis Castillo in the third inning. Clemens has picked up three consecutive starts at second base, and he could be in store for regular opportunities against right-handed pitching while the absence of Royce Lewis (hamstring) creates an opening in the infield.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Goes yard against Reds

Clemens went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 12-5 win over Cincinnati. Clemens launched his seventh home run of the season, tagging Nick Martinez for a two-run homer that plated Ryan Jeffers. Clemens came into Thursday's contest hitless in his last 11 at-bats and without a multi-hit game since May 19. On the year, Clemens is slashing .219/.317/.486 in 121 plate appearances.

  • Twins' Kody Clemens: Starting in third straight vs. RHP

Clemens will start at second base and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Reds. Clemens started just once in the Twins' last six games while the team faced off against five left-handed pitchers, but he finds himself in the starting nine for the third consecutive matchup with a righty. Outfielder Harrison Bader, meanwhile, has been on the bench for all three of those matchups with righties, so Bader and Clemens could end up forming a de facto righty/lefty platoon while the Twins have an open spot in the lineup with Royce Lewis (hamstring) on the injured list. Both Clemens and Bader could see their opportunities tail off once Lewis is back in action.
