Hicks went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-5 loss to the Mets.

Hicks got the scoring started Tuesday with a two-run single in the first inning, and he added a third RBI in the sixth when his groundout to first brought Griffin Conine across home plate. After starting the season 0-for-8, Hicks has logged a hit in four of his last five outings and has gone 5-for-14 with one double and four RBI across that span.

Gillispie (0-1) did not factor into the decision against the Mets on Tuesday. He gave up two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings.

Tuesday was the second straight start against the Mets for Gillispie, and for a second consecutive time he came away with a no-decision as Calvin Faucher was tagged with the loss. Gillispie tossed 74 pitches (43 strikes) but was unable to reach five innings of work after doing so in each of his first two starts of the 2025 season, and he's begun the year with a 3.27 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 22 frames. With the Marlins slated for two off-days over the next week, Gillispie may not take the mound again until next weekend's series against the Phillies.

Lindor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 10-5 win over the Marlins.

Lindor finally registered his first home run of the 2025 season Tuesday, taking Connor Gillispie deep to right field in the first inning. Lindor hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh frame to register his first multi-RBI game of the season while extending the Mets' lead to five runs. He is on a seven-game hitting streak and has gone 9-for-26 with three walks, two doubles, one home run and four RBI over that span.

Taillon didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Rangers after allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out six.

After allowing Jonah Heim to plate a pair of runs on a single in the second inning, Taillon served up a solo homer to Wyatt Langford in the third frame. Despite the early struggles, the veteran right-hander settled in to throw three scoreless innings thereafter to register a quality start and was in line for the win before the Cubs relinquished a 6-3 lead in the eighth. Taillon will take a 6.06 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB over 16.1 innings (three starts) into a tougher matchup in San Diego for his next scheduled start, which is tentatively set for early next week.

Alonso went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI in Tuesday's 10-5 win over Miami.

Alonso registered his first RBI of the game in the third inning, and he proceeded to drive in three more runs on a bases-clearing double in the sixth frame to give the Mets a four-run lead. Alonso has logged two hits in each of his last three games and has recorded at least four RBI in three games this season. Alonso has gone 12-for-30 with four walks, five doubles, three home runs and 15 RBI over his last eight outings.

Holmes (1-1) came away with the win against the Marlins on Tuesday. He gave up four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out 10 across 5.1 innings.

Holmes got off to a rough start by allowing two runs in the first inning, but he was nearly flawless over the next four frames, striking out nine batters over that span. He was tagged for two more runs in the sixth, but the Mets were able to generate enough offense for Holmes to log his first win of the 2025 campaign. In his first three starts of 2025, Holmes has a 4.30 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB across 14.2 innings. His next start is tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Twins.

The Astros traded Montero and cash to Atlanta on Tuesday in exchange for a player to be named later.

Montero has made three appearances out of the bullpen so far this season, giving up two earned runs while striking out five batters across four innings. Now in Atlanta, the 34-year-old reliever will likely remain in the major-league bullpen, but he isn't expected to see many high-leverage opportunities.

The Padres recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Gonzalez will replace Jackson Merrill (hamstring) on the 26-man roster after Merrill was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain. Gonzalez has produced a .290 average with three home runs, seven RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base over 31 at-bats in seven games with El Paso so far this season. The 27-year-old will provide San Diego with another depth option in the outfield with Merrill unavailable.

The Padres placed Merrill on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain.

Merrill's hamstring has kept him out of the lineup since Monday, and he hasn't been recovering as quickly as the team would like. In an effort to prioritize his long-term health, the Padres will now send the young outfielder to the injured list to give him ample time to recover and ensure his hamstring doesn't remain an issue for the rest of the season. Oscar Gonzalez was recalled from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move.

Iglesias is starting in left field and batting seventh against the Athletics on Tuesday.

Iglesias has never started in the outfield during his professional career, so Tuesday will be a first for the 35-year-old. With three of the Padres' possible left fielders on the bench because a lefty is on the mound and with Brandon Lockridge starting in center due to Jackson Merrill's hamstring injury, the door opened for Iglesias to head to left field.
